Per PuckLuck projected WAR metrics, adding Zucker, Malenstyn, Lafferty, and Aube-Kubel to the lineup adds about .186 WAR/60 Skinner and 3 replacement-level players is about .188 WAR/60 In other words, the Sabres are a slight net negative from where they were a few days ago.

  1. But aren’t Jost, Girgensons, and Robinson below replacement level?

  2. Keep your 0.002 war/60, and insert gently into your anus. I don’t care, Sabres bottom 6 got much much harder to play against. That’s a win.

  3. The Sabres are a far more rounded team today. They now have a 4th line. They still have the #2 prospect pool to trade to add talent on the top lines.

  4. 4th lines don’t mean a damn thing, the 4th lines NEVER matter to competitively competent teams the way people are making it seem like they do here. Copium is strong in this one.

  5. Hard to get players that will have a positive impact when people put Buffalo on their NMC list and FA want to sign for a contender or for big money.

The wins will need to come from the drafted talent developing and executing. These additions are just the round out the bottom.

  6. The draft went as bad as possible and free agency has started with a thud, but one thing is for sure….. The Sabres are a better team without Eric Comrie. That’s an extra 3-4 wins easy. So far Adams best move of the off-season by far was not resigning him.

  7. Yeah we need a top 6 forward, but my god this advanced stats shit is getting ridiculous. We got harder to play against, they hit are tough, grinders who are going to make this team harder to play against and fun to watch.

This team got better no matter what your .006 stat says.

Also this guys site is based on a very poorly trained algorithm.

  8. Did they have an opportunity to trade jeff Skinner after his 82 point season in the same way PLD was traded recently, is my question

    Presently

Idk just kinda existential crisis mode here

  9. I don’t agree with the skinner buy out without a clear plan. And we clearly didn’t have a clear plan.

We could have just added most of these and still had skinner…
