Begun, Butto’s reliever era has.
Good move
Solid
We are so fucking back
It’s only fitting that we Seth Lugo a promising starting pitching prospect the same season Seth Lugo has broken out as a dominant starting pitcher
Praise Grimace!
Prefer Butto in the rotation, but we need an arm right now for the bullpen. I anticipate more opportunities in the near future.
It was a nice story that this fella finally made it to the majors in that game in Atlanta. Best of luck to him
Thank goodness. Mets BP is a nail biter. If we want to win we need a couple of arms.
Butto is back let’s go!
thank goodness
Relief might be the best option for the kid right now. Aren’t there inning limit concerns?
Why aren’t we doing this with Megill? Butto looks like a promising starter.
About time. Thank you Grimace. Praise be.
great, now i have to hear youtube people call him “Byooto” nonstop
I like it. Multiple starters moved to the bullpen that can pitch more than 1 inning might be the answer we need
Was looking at Butto’s splits to see how he might fare as a reliever. Oddly he does significantly better against hitters the second time through the order than the first. .882 OPS the first time through vs .357 OPS the second time. Same number of plate appearances for each (63).
Well, can’t say he didn’t get an extended tryout. Keep your head up Jay.
It is about fucking time. I feel like this and the Scott call up are Vientos/Iglesias 2.0. I really do not understand what takes management so long to make decisions like these.
Good now do Christian Scott
Butto is a 3 pitch pitcher…closer to 2 than anything. He profiles a lot better as a bullpen arm IMO. He’d get that extra uptick on his fastball too, which couldn’t hurt.
Is pretty solid but there’s still work to be done. Ideally, they upgrade from Ottavino and/or Garrett at the deadline. Butto is just a temporary fix until the end of the month, then he’ll either go into the rotation or back to the minors.
Still need one really good starter and a high leverage reliever if this team expects to go anywhere. Go get Eovaldi and DRob/Yates!
I think butto profiles better as a starter. I remember him always starting slow and letting a couple runs up early then buckling down and going 6+
Jay’s performance yesterday had us clenching our sphincters
finally butto is back I was sad that they basically derailed his very good season by sending him down for months
