on today’s dnvr Broncos show we’re power ranking the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL who’s better Jaylen Herz Dak Prescott Justin Herbert and the point of this is to see where bone Knicks can eventually get to can he jump those three guys I mentioned can he jump um maybe a Joe burrow Lamar Jackson we’re breaking it down right now [Music] [Applause] [Music] the Broncos are almost back back yesterday I was going cuz I was at brutin golf tournament my team and I shot a 60 okay so Prett not a bad day who’s on your team uh nobody you guys would know good good friends of mine but they were great they were great golfers did you carry okay so they carried the team no it was really a team effort um like you know I would have a long drive and they would have a great chip somebody would nail a putt for a birdie like it just was a really a team effort so did you guys win if you I don’t know I I had to leave before like the ceremony wow I’m GL get any text that we won so somebody man lower than that what are typical scores for that cuz that seems unreal we’re 11 under I mean it’s usually pretty in condition think so usually if you birdie every hole then you’re in good shape yeah but then typically somebody winds up with like an eagle somewhere too uhuh also people cheat whoever wins probably cheated for a charity tournament though it’s I mean well that’s it’s not good to cheap for charity tournaments but I can’t imagine there was like a big grand prize pretty good ones really even for charity ones okay oh yeah oh then I’m sure people cheat did one Char event and he knows everything about it he was a celebrity on that one so Todd this one the yesterday I’m sure wow look at us stuff just a bunch of celebrities and then Zach Stevens rocking and rolling with you today um Okay so we’ve got I think what’s on to a very very fun conversation we got a little preview of it we kind of accidentally fell into this conversation last week and uh it was spicy it was fun and so I’m excited to get into this conversation today but before we do I just got to give people a reminder we got a double show Tuesday coming up today because we’ve got Baldi joining us at 1230 so if of July and we’re not going to have a show on the 5th of July so that’s why we’re kind of loading up early in the week with these two shows so let’s dive in to our top 10 quarterback Power Rankings and I thought that was kind of the best way to phrase it because then we’re not looking at accolades um you know and it’s not like okay well who’s had the best career it’s kind of like who’s the best quarterback in the NFL right now and then the point of this is to see okay well how far do we think bonck can realistically get do we think in 5 years he can be number one do we think he can easily jump Justin Herbert this year um and we’ll see who’s in the top 10 maybe Justin Herbert’s not even in the top 10 so without further Ado let’s start off by giving you our top 10 quarterback Power Rankings Todd I’ll let you start with number one um I mean there’s not really like any questions about this one I think yeah you hear you can just fill it in just fill it in for everybody unless Henry want to go on like a lqu about how much he loves this guy I think we’ll just save him um Henry are you going with the same guy that Todd goes with uh I’ll save you so you have to say his name also it’s Soliloquy Noto it’s not willo alth Patrick Mahomes lover I was trying to be nice to you and then I appreciate that Soliloquy did I at least use it properly no you did yeah did I use lqu properly as well I there’s like a 1% chance that’s actually a word maybe in a different language it could be h it just auto corrects to Soliloquy yeah that would make sense uh Patrick Mahomes for Henry and it just auto corrected to Daddy Mahomes daddy wow oh wow it literally did autocorrect to Daddy Mahomes it knows the computer knows um yeah I mean no debate here I knew there was going to be no debate and it sucks but it’s just the truth okay number two is this when a debate starts I’m curious where you’re going to go here Todd um just in the NFL right now it’s tough cuz there’s a lot of good quarterbacks and it’s tough I like I like Lamar Jackson but I feel like I can’t leave Aaron Rogers not top two in the in the entire NFL like if he wasn’t hurt last season guys like the season before that he was the MVP he was the no the season before that he missed the playoffs yes he missed the playoffs season before that he was the MVP and the one before that he was the MVP come on guys like and he only missed the playoffs because he was having issues with front office SL head coach I think it was a little bit of drama there but that I still think he can’t be touched I can’t wait to to show you where I have him in my top 10 he’s 40 guys who were 40 can’t when did Tom Brady win a Super Bowl I mean was to be fair I mean you can’t really name another doesn’t matter just happened it happened recently Super Bowl ah I can’t no top when’s the last time Tom Brady won an MVP I have no idea I think Aaron Rogers was older winning MVPs that actually who the past six MVPs are in the NFL no I’m just going to say none of that Henry you don’t know either okay Patrick Mahomes Lamar Jackson Aaron roggers not in order just six total I think that’s it right Todd give yourself some more credit that is exactly it each of those guys have won two MVPs in the past six years that’s kind of crazy for like how loaded the NFL is with talent and we know MVP is really just a quarterback uh award but still how low it is with quarterbacks three guys in two in the past six years each of them have won it twice so I mean Todd I see where you’re uh I see where you’re coming from with uh with Aaron Rogers there but I gotta say I’m I’m surprised that he’s number two I’m surprised he’s number two Henry is he your number two uh no he’s not uh Lamar Jackson is he’s really good winning MVPs doing all that stuff can run it can throw it I don’t have much you’ve all seen Lamar Jackson he’s great so we’re we’re including uh running huh yeah I like that I’ll keep that in mind for later in this conversation very glad you brought that up Henry especially since it’s worthy of being number two for my number two I’m going a little different than you guys I had I mean it was pretty much a coin flip for two three and four for me um but I’m going Joe burrow here now he was hurt last year but the way that I tried to do like my power rankings and think about guys was what have you done the last two years and that’s why for Aaron roders um kind of that I mean that assessment really hurt him in the past two years but Joe burrow he was as good as anyone in the NFL two years ago he could have been the MVP um I believe that was a Patrick momes MVP year but I think Joe burrow was a finalist for it he was phenomenal when he played last year I think he had like 17 touchdowns four interceptions he was still really good um just the Bengals got off to their classic slow start and then he got hurt um but how I chose between my number two three and four which we’ll reveal in just a second is between this group again coin flip I’d be absolutely thrilled with any of them it’s kind of the tier right below mes I said who has who would give me the best chance to beat momes and we’ve only seen one of these guys do it in the playoffs and that was Joe burrow and that was a couple of years ago to be fair but never seen thear do it in fact Lamar had the opportunity to do it in his house against Mahomes last year wasn’t able to get it done Josh Allen had the opportunity to get it done in his own house against momes last year wasn’t able to do it um burrow head was a thing for second instead of Arrowhead because Joe burrow was able to knock off Patrick momes in Kansas City so if I had to have one guy like week one of this year to beat Mahomes or maybe it’s week 17 or maybe it’s in the playoffs this year I would be going Joe burrow um I know he’s coming off the injury but man he is so freaking good but I don’t think you can go wrong with Lamar Jackson I do think you can go wrong with Aon number two though so Todd where are you going number three uh now I’m going Lamar Jackson okay um I think these are the three best quarterbacks in the league for sure um no that’s me you’re here I know we kind of look alike but oh you can just yeah it’s true people get us confused often uh no but I think Lamar Jackson um it’s kind of League of his own I think the top three I have is all MVPs so seems like I know what I’m doing but we’ll see you’re just keeping it simple you’re not getting two in the weeds um you’re here for me you can leave Lamar Jackson up on there I think he’s the third best quarterback the two MVPs says it all and you know once Lamar it’s crazy once Lamar wins a Super Bowl his the way people view him is going to go from like uh really good to like he’s an all-time player and it’s just because he hasn’t had the playoff success yet I know he won one playoff game this past year and that was his first playoff game that he’s won um but that was held against him but since he only won one last year and it was at home against a rookie quarterback rookie head coach with the Texans people aren’t giving him credit and I understand that maybe it’s once he makes a Super Bowl but if he wins a Super Bowl in the next few years people are going to say like oh yeah Lamar Jackson’s good too oh my gosh this guy’s an alltime player yeah I think so wait I got to go back to Aaron Rogers real quick I feel like you guys are giving him Flack that you wouldn’t give to any other quarterback so Payton Manning won MVP in 201 13 yeah so 13 we won MVP 14 first round of playoffs were out and then 15 we won the Super Bowl yeah MH I know Aaron Rogers may have one more year in there because of injury but nobody would have said that pton Manning’s not top three going into 2015 going into yes exactly but but then what happened it doesn’t matter same about the rankings and we won the Super Bowl so it really doesn’t matter that is true that is true but like you would called him not if I’m picking somebody to be my quarterback for football game tomorrow Aaron Rogers is not in the top three you’re crazy not only are you going to have execution unbelievably the entire game fourth quarter if you have any time on the clock you going to win the game yeah I mean I’d say the same thing about I don’t Russell Wilson who led the league in fourth quarter comeback last year G winning drives these are not are not these are not real these are not real other guys are great in the real no no nobody’s better than Aaron Rogers a Hail Mary or in the fourth quarter late in the game Broncos hit a Hil Mary how many how many how many different clips do we see where Aaron Rogers does it over and over and over and over and over again he has done it a lot he he does do it a lot the MVPs don’t mean anything also there’s just too much going on like with the age the Achilles Like You got to be able to like push off and like Drive the ball like I don’t think the ball is going to be coming out as fast as it did before I think neck about to fall and they had to surgically repair he had the best year of his life like he did come on these guys have found the Fountain of Youth him that last year it worked out it worked out he found it to come back but I think there’s one more thing with Aaron Rogers he said he found the Fountain of Youth he also found the Fountain of iasa that may be it and I wonder though if he’s just not as into football anymore and and cares enough one of the reasons why Payton uh and Tom are the goats is they it was their life now after football we saw a little bit of Payton’s personality but like Tom Brady just seemed like the most blah person of all time then he retires and we kind of get to see his personality uh and he seems like he’s a good guy um and pton we really got to see his personality Aaron Rogers we’re already seeing who this guy is because he’s already doing things left and right I don’t know if he’s fully locked in anymore and to me I am questioning that and it is weird to question that from an alltime great um but I do question that from Aaron Rogers so you can’t have any hobbies you can’t love anything but ball that’s all you could do well not when it starts impacting you and he was unexcused for mandatory mini camp this year he did not show up Robert Salah um said it was unexcused absence that’s the quarterback of your team yeah and he’s uh multiple time MVP SE winning Hall of Fame first ballot Hall of Famer like what does he need need to do OT for let the Young Bucks get their run and then no he’s with a new team he played Four snaps with this team last year he’s fine if I’m on the team I’m like all right Aaron whenever you get back let’s rock you don’t need this well they desperately need him so they have to say that ideally though no I want my quarterback fulltime there oh man I I’m somewhere in the middle cuz like I don’t think he needs to be as locked in as he used to like he is Aaron Rogers like he knows everything inside like he could walk up to line of scrimmage and check whatever he wants and all of a sudden he’s got a touch like he the mental side’s going to be just fine but also when you miss mandatory mini camp because you had a pre-planned trip to Egypt I just don’t like it I just don’t like it like I it probably doesn’t matter but there’s something about it that just does rub you the wrong way I feel you I mean I hear you I don’t feel you I hear you there is space in between Todd and Henry I just feel I just feel like come on man like he doesn’t need any practice pton with the question in the chat why does he get special treatment cuz he’s Aaron Rogers but everybody gets special treatment and here’s the thing here’s the thing Tom Brady got special treatment his final year before um the what was it training camp you missed an entire week of training camp and that was like what the hell Tom went on to have one of his worst seasons it was like he was like not fully there not fully engaged well he was going through a whole divorce too yeah we don’t know what Aaron Rog he’s going through a whole relationship with iasa right now and he I don’t know what he’s doing right now um might locked in Tom was a little bit checked out I don’t know if IAS would make you locked in or a little more checked out supposed to like have it’s supposed to help you like uh yeah yeah get past like traumas in your childhood and life to be like M more cognizant of like yeah yeah you’re and you’re you do the real Ias you go to Peru you go up the mountain you do it with the shaman then you come back down I think he I think he did a 12-day retreat yeah because it has to be like in Peru up to the mountain you have to be out there for like almost a month yeah literally and then you come you have to hike back down and that’s how the real iasa is I just read about this for the first time ever yesterday yes exactly don’t do drugs kids um although this one is like anug like uh you it’s very much more accepted and it’s like a it’s spiritual specifically I don’t think it’s legal in America though it is yeah it’s not fully legal it’s a schedule of one drug I read about IA randomly yesterday and got down this whole rabal um and like you can drink three cups at a time and you like are a lot of people either immediately either throw up or have to go to the bathroom and yeah so anyways enough about iasa guess um but we’ll see how much the Ia impacts how I view Aaron Rogers in the top 10 cuz we haven’t even got to where Henry thinks um he is going to be bur I’m pulling he was 12 and four That season before so so Joe burrow 29 22 and one in his career uh my guy Lamar Jackson who I put number two uh has a career record of this sucks uh 58 19 okay and now tell me what type of Team tell me what type of Team Lamar Jackson joined good a very good team Joe Burl was the number one pick took over the the team with who was dreadful for so long terrible the number one overall pick hendron did two seven and one then immediately turned them into 10 and six 12 and four like I said Super Bowl with beating the Chiefs okay we got to continue on this list Henry who’s your number four uh my number three oh your number three give me your number three and number four this was really hard I went with Josh Allen here I have a lot of I have a lot of like things that I don’t love about what he was second to turnovers in the NFL last year first year before was he first year before that like he does all that but he kind of balances it out and St uh Brett Favre uh yeah we got win a Super Bowl big and fast yeah won one doesn’t matter yeah do you think you think joshu will win any yeah no I think he’ll win one I think he had the greatest opportunity the last three years I don’t think you get a better offense SL better defense and running back like I don’t know how maybe late in his career when he’s very seasoned but I don’t know how he put together a better team I would say he wouldn’t he definitely has already had his best opportunity yes absolutely I don’t know okay uh but yeah so I went Josh Allen mostly because like he’s the only guy left who I look at and say like he can just he’ll just go win you games like he doesn’t need help like he can just carry a team and that was the tiebreaker then number four I struggled with also but I went down um that’s where I fit him in like the guy puts up crazy numbers again we’re talking about record 73 and 41 like he’s just done it over and over and over and over again like hasn’t been able to find success in the playoffs it is what it is like once you get past like honestly that number one with Mahomes you’re picking which which defects you want and if you if he if he had had success in the playoffs he would be right up there with Patrick Mahomes like when you look at at the numbers and this regular Seas regular season success and all that um and so that’s why I kind of I went with it you know he’s number two in the MVP voting last year it’s a good player I went Dak at 4 two wow I don’t say this often but that was a smart move wow thank wow the disrespect to Joe burrow stats for stats I think uh Dak Prescott has put a better of numbers in Joe burrow the other thing is that you know I’m not going to like wait injuries like say like oh Joe bur’s probably to get hurt again but I’m going to say like he did just get surgery again on his wrist those things aren’t good for you and it’s not like he was playing great football last year he actually kind of sucked he did not suck again if sucking is 15 touchdowns to six interception 67% completion for the year yeah that sucks well 10 gam that’s all they did that’s all they had thing is like we just have high standards here in Denver we have Russell Wilson to compare him to 26 and six two years ago Dak got hurt and only played in 12 games so you can’t hold that against him and yet despite playing in 12 games two years ago he played in 12 games missed five games he led the NFL in interceptions y you’re you’re great stack guy that Prescott 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 12 games and still uh of Joe Burrow’s Four Seasons you throw that uh quarterback rating that Dak put up in that year uh into the the mix when he led the unfill interceptions would have ranked dead center by quarterback rating that’s right in the middle of what Joe bur’s done and then he’s also blown it out the water too yeah having 4500 yards and oh Joe burrow had 4,500 yards two years ago yeah yeah Dak Prescott had this year um but I mean at what point do you guys at what oh Joe Joe burrow was injured this past year at what point does playoff success can we say what so why can you bring up like Joe Burl’s so we got to take easy on him but Aaron Rogers being injured all of a sudden takes him out of a because Aaron Rogers wasn’t that good the year before it injury yeah but but now that’s two years Jo was good years ago not last year last time we see saw Jo he was good last year but hurt um no the last time we saw Joe bur he was good you think so again 15 touchdowns six interceptions 230 yards per game like he was putting up career lows in every single category yes and then the year before he was great so yeah the past two years he has been good you know the last time Dak Prescott put up 230 yards per game it was his rookie season we had 2 29.2 I think that’s overrated yards okay yards are overrated yards are so over I’m going to fill out the rushing yards though I’m going to fill out my number for it right now I’m going Josh Allen here and kind of like I said earlier there’s the obvious tier one which is Mahomes the second tier in my eyes is pretty easy and it can be in any order Joe Burl Lamar Jackson Josh Allen then I think there’s another big break between um those three and then kind of the rest of the top 10 um clearly you guys don’t see it that way since you don’t have Joe burrow in your top for and you have Dak Prescott in there um so I’m curious to see where Joe burrow comes in on your guys’s list and uh curious to see what you think where I have Dak Prescott as well where are you guys going number five Todd h [Music] M um this one’s tough uh this is where it starts getting tricky that’s where it starts getting tricky for sure my pick here is going to blow your mind um oh boy in every way you’re G to say Brock birdie I don’t know yeah I’m going Brock p number five right here and yeah it does feel crazy but why this guy Led Led his team to a 12-4 record last year he had the highest touchdown percentage he had 31 touchdowns only 11 interceptions and you’re like well yeah it’s easy to do that when you’re throwing uh little check passes to Christian mcaffrey when you’re just throwing screens to Debo and he can do the rest when you’re just doing dump offs to George KD and he takes it further uh-uh this guy led the NFL in yards per attempt uh air yards per attempt yards per completion and then also passer rating quarterback rating net yards per attempt uh and air net yards per attempt so he is not just throwing it to his Playmakers um you know one yard pass the line of scrimmage he is throwing the ball downfield um two really good players yes there’s no doubt about that he also has uh the best left tackle in the NFL he’s got a hell of a defense on the other side but at what point and this is kind of what I was picking my brain about when I was like can I really put him in the top five at what point do we say like okay we’re actually going to give him credit because if he keeps doing this for the next 10 years of course in 10 years everyone will say like he’s one or two depending on what Patrick Mahomes has done but at what point does that transition happen he did it for one full year last year and the year before he only played played uh he only started five games he went 5-0 he had 13 touchdowns to four interceptions um and he was just a Monster again statistically he was the best quarterback in the NFL last year um because of the weapons and stuff and all of that and Kyle Shanahan I knock him down a little bit to five but this guy deserves the credit uh right now and he might be totally off this list if he falls off next year but he’s done everything to earn a spot in the top 10 and for me I think he earns a spot in the top five yeah I don’t I don’t know if I’ll put him there in my opinion I think he’s proven everybody wrong time and time again um I think he can be a solid quarterback and he has been I think he has a lot of Playmakers around him so that’s why I put him a little bit lower but nevertheless you got to be able to go out there and execute there’s been a handful of quarterbacks that have gone to that system same system very similar weapons and have been able to execute so uh no matter what the kick and execute and that puts him um top 10 I think in my opinion but for my number five um this guy had a bounce back year I don’t know if he could do it again but for 20 games 5400 yards 34 TDS 12 interceptions Jared G went crazy last year and definitely LED that Lions team um to their first playoff victory in 100 years the9 um and had a Phenom phenomenal season um if his big thing is can he repeat it I know that he kind of fell off in LA and then this is kind of like his Rejuvenation so can he redo it but as far as last year he was definitely a top five quarterback and then the Lions gave him the contract to say you earn this and you know what I have no issue with the contract the Lions gave him because I do think he earns that so I I don’t mind Jared gof being at five at all and he will be in my top 10 um Henry who’d you go with five I’ve got burrow here there we go okay yep the bleeding stops I like that yep he does good things sometimes man you had to say like a couple of good things about Joe burrow this week I I’ve loved it um okay before we get into our other five on number six number six 1 two three four five H this is another place where it gets really tough I’ve got three guys that could kind of go in any order and I’m going with CJ strad this one’s maybe a little bit more of a gamble than some of the others but he was good last year and uh I honestly I guess with the tiebreaker was was that he has such good receivers that I don’t think that I’m going to look back at this and feel dumb about it you know whereas if you go with some of these other guys it’s like they I I fear they would have a bad year and all of a sudden you’re like oh well that was a really dumb pick to make so I’m going with stoud okay um I love where you put him but I don’t really like what you said about him CJ strad you said had a good year he had an outstanding year last year so I got CJ strad at six as well here Henry um CJ strad the numbers are incredibly impressive the numbers are unbelievably impressive for a rookie 23 touchdowns five interceptions he had the fewest or the small interception percentage in the NFL while throwing for the most yards per game so they put so much on his shoulders and he did it uh with flying colors and not only all of that but he did it with a team that had the number two overall pick the year before um and was able to turn them into a playoff team CJ strout if he just continues to be at this pace he’ll be in the in the top three and the top two conversation just next year um I am curious to see if he can do it at this rate for another year but um he was just so unbelievably good last year and for like with bad a bad team around him now he helped make Nico Collins look good niik Collins I’m sure helped him but no one thought niik Collins was going to get a big contract this year before last year and then he did because of CJ so um all the credit in the world to CJ strad yeah uh o I might have to agree with you on that one um just for the fact that I feel like he was the one that really elevated the team around him talk about Brock pie uh two be on my list as well these are all guys that are solid players and good players that have phenomenal Talent around him around them and I feel like CJ stra really elevated everyone’s game and you know he got helped out by the defense from time to time but ultimately it was CJ stra making plays um phenomenal passes phenomenal decision making um for your rookie season I don’t think it could have went any better yep I I agree Henry you going Aaron Rogers 7 here um no but he is he’s close we’re we’re in the Aaron rogersy range guys are crazy um that’s fair uh I’m goingon to go with give me give me Jaylen Herz hey I’m really uh I’m struggling with some of these again like it’s it’s just it’s just about risk at this point um and with him you like RPO heavy system it works really well when you have that awesome offensive line and he it makes everything easy up front so you get to run they load the Box the you have these crazy good receivers on the outside to get the ball to um they also were surprisingly healthy for forever and then when they don’t get healthy it doesn’t look as pretty so I I I’m worried that he might not be well-rounded enough and maybe he’s being carried a little bit by the great receivers and great offensive line and great weapons all around him but I’m confident again that like he’ll do enough this year that this won’t be embarrassing because you still have a lot of that and you add saquon Barkley too Tod uh well I’ll just I’ll just play off of that cuz I’m going Jaylen Herz at seven here there’s nothing SC about this pick Jaylen Herz is a hell of a player he can run the ball he can pass the ball in the words of Henry um you know it’s awesome that you can have a dual threat quarterback to be all the way as number two it’s incredible that you get that at number seven here um and uh Todd do you want to throw your seventh in because I’ve got to connect my seventh and eighth okay yeah um probably go Josh Allen right here wow like he’s a he’s a good quarterback and he’s talented he just has to many interceptions and I think it’s had more opportunities than anybody to kind of get over the hump and beat Patrick Mahomes he’s had a loaded team uh he’s had a great defense and for whatever reason he can’t seem to get over that hump and I don’t know if he can do it at this point so I’m putting him at seven just because of his leading League interceptions year after year or second um I can’t put him top five because if he if he minimized those interceptions I think they have won a Super Bowl Maybe maybe two by now he is the only quarterback in NFL history to have backto backto back seasons of 40 touchdowns or more in each season MH but the interceptions the the turnovers and that’s why I kind of say like the modern day Brett Favre Brett Fab was like the typical Gunslinger where I always thought he was overrated um because he had so many touchdowns and so many yards but also so many interceptions like he leads the NFL in interceptions by far and it’s not even close and Josh Allen kind of fits that mold right now so I see why you knock him a lot for those interceptions I do and I kind of think I might have ranked him too high it’s tough what I decided was if I have a bad team I would love to have Josh Allen because he’ll just like fight through how bad that team is and find a way to go win eight games if you have a good team I don’t think he’s the type of quarterback who can take you to like 14 and three just because he himself is going to lose you too many games and push comes to shove like maybe he does string three four good ones together in the play and get a ring at some point but I he’s almost like a O Russell Westbrook kind of like in the news in Denver recently it’s like a prime Russell Westbrook where it’s like wow he can really do a lot with all his opportunities but it isn’t necessarily a style that’s conducive to winning really big games consistently to get three four in a row fair so I said I need to connect my seven and eight because at 8 I’m going Dak Prescott here um we had the big conversation a week ago from today about who who’s better Dak um or Jaylen I think they’re close but um I feel very confident about Jaylen being better like I said for all of these guys I kind of looked at a two-year window and what have you done for me semi recently I feel like that’s pretty good sample size in the last two years Jaylen Herz has 73 touchdowns Dak Prescott has 62 Jaylen Herz has a 25 and second seven record Dak Prescott is 20 and9 um Dak Prescott has 200 12 rushing yards per year Jaylen Herz has 682 rushing yards per year and the one that you guys will just love Dak Prescott in the past two years has averaged 300 or 3,688 passing yards per year Jaylen Herz 3,780 um so was injured to me oh injuries okay 254 passing yards per game per for Dak Prescott 236 per game for Jaylen Herz not that big of a difference um when that’s the thing you’re going to look at Jaylen herdz more touchdowns better record more yards both running and passing um and you kind of hold it against Jaylen Herz that he has a good offensive line which he does that he has good receivers which he does he has a good defense which he does say the exact same things about D Dak Prescott great offensive line his entire career great weapons his entire career both running back and at receiver position CD lamb absolutely incredible um and then defense defense best defensive player in the NFL top five top three defensive player in the NFL plus overall as a unit an incredible defense so not as good as the Eagles but they’re they’re good oh no they were I think number one points defense in the NFL last year the eag or the the last year Cowboys are better but the year before like the few years before that the Eagles have had it okay so in the past two years they’ve it’s one in one so I mean everything else is a push Dak just has way better numbers so I I don’t really no yeah go I like that’s that’s Jen has better numbers has more playoff has been to a Super Bowl this is easy it’s Jaylen Herz I like what you said about that man that was great Todd you you putting jayen here now no I I your top 10 no no he’ll be in my top 10 but I gotta go Joe burrow I haven’t G Joe bur yet wow holy cow shout out to Joe burrow I mean he I think he’s a good quarterback um besides injury I think the team was they’re a slow starting team like a lot of good quarterbacks are I don’t know why Tom Brady started slow every year Joe bur’s the same way they just start slow and they F the groove um and they were like on the winning streak at that point so I think he would have had another playoff run probably won two games in the playoffs again this year I think he’s a very talented quarterback um and so I put him at is that eight yeah Joe Bro at eight yeah sometimes with the quarterbacks to start slow I I don’t really look as like a slow start as much as like they just get better like Tom Brady’s teams just get better as the season goes so like they start out and it’s like yeah it’s Patriots team like it’s fine like they’re five and five these Chiefs teams we’ve talked about they haven’t been that great but they just figure out how to win and figure out what their strengths are and just get better and better and better and by the end of the year they’re back at the same spot every time you know one thing that I never thought about that I just come to my mind right now um keep said at one time like uh the Patriots don’t even really game plan and start gam playing till October he said those first couple games they just go out there and basically play they don’t put together this big game plan they don’t put together a big call sheet they just play and then he’s like build like come October he’s like all right bet I’mma dial it in and maybe that’s why every year it’s slow because they’re just going out on their play seeing how people are defending them and then October they’ve gotten all the data they wanted and they just putting together game plan after game plan after game plan just tearing people apart that’s like the football thing where if you’re if you’re playing a team that’s worse than you you just do whatever you’re best at if you’re playing a team that’s better than you then you like either take away their strengths or work toward their weaknesses so it makes sense that the Patriots would approach the season that way just figure out what you’re good at and then work from there and then you don’t tip your hand at the beginning of the season when it doesn’t really matter that much anyways interesting um okay let’s round out our lists here Henry give us your eighth um let’s see I’ve got three guys left I’ll put it at I’ll go goof next I’ll go go next um we talked about a little bit he’s just sharp um sometimes I wonder if Joe burough should really be in front of him because I think that there’s a lot of similarities there in terms of the way that you know it’s get the ball to the talent and let them go go to work um definitely game manager but has pushed the ball down field a little bit more recently and the success speaks for itself at least in the last couple years boom okay hey Henry why don’t you just uh round out your nine and 10 okay um I’ll go Aaron Rogers nine again it’s it’s just risk like and I I think I don’t I don’t even think that this is like super low on him honestly I think there’s a chance that he does he he is not a top 10 quarterback this year I think there’s a big chance there’s also a chance that he is really good MVP um yeah there’s a very small chance I don’t think he has the weapons for that they have good weapons but they he has great weapons great weapons Garrett Wilson’s a phenomenal player but who does Joe burrow have you know um what do you mean great weapons who does Brock Chase and weapons yeah oh you’re saying they’re better yeah so I think you could go through ite Hall is a hell of a running back so Hand the ball off that doesn’t get any stats for Aaron you know throw it to the running back who winning one MVP the back toback MVP um he’s he’s thrown one touchdown pass to a first round pick or or only one player has been a first round pick that he’s thrown a touchdown pass Mercedes Lewis yep Devonte Adams turned out to be really good though he to throw that one saying like yeah I think Aaron Rogers has enough Talent around him he definitely has enough but in terms of like MVP I’d look elsewhere just because they other guys who could put up crazy numbers because they just have more help um yeah and then I’ll I’ll go with Justin Herbert for the last one um honestly like I had Tua right there Kyler Murray right there Trevor Lawrence right there muray uh Stafford is probably too old but he’s probably in there too but yeah I’ll I’ll pick Herbert out of that crew all right Todd round us out um dang this one’s tough nine and 10 you got two more spots all right I gotta go Jaylen right here hey I think he’s too good a player not to be top 10 and um been pretty consistent I know they started really good last year and then kind of tailed off I think that was more of the defense being subpar I think he kind of he showed up at times he wasn’t his best um you know the back half of the season but I think he definitely showed up I think he’s a talented quarterback and for number 10 um shout out to my boy Kirk Cousins money back Kirk um just got another bag and it’s for a reason man he is consistently good I think he’s in a similar position as um Josh Allen though to where he’s had great offenses he’s had phenomenal decent def is if it wasn’t for a play or two here they would have been in the Super Bowl Will he win one with Atlanta I don’t know will he be all the way back healthy I don’t know um and they keep paying him top top three money so he got to be top 10 or at least true um so Kurt cousin Runing out my list boom I love that um I’m going nine here I’m going Justin Herbert um the biggest thing which is a massive thing against Justin Herbert is he has a losing record 20 and 22 in the NFL you can have a losing record your your rookie year even if you’re a good quarterback and that’s exactly what Justin Herbert did I think he threw for the most yards as a rookie and the most passing touchdowns as a rookie in NFL history but at a losing record at some point you’re twoe three you got to really start consistently winning he just finished his fourth year and the consistent winning is not there but statistically um from an eyes perspective when you watch him he can take over games he is he’s a phenomenal quarterback he’s just not a winner and the winner part is a massive part of being a good quarterback so um I mean honestly he has the stats in the eye test um that if you didn’t know what team was around him and if they were winning or losing he’d probably be top five in pretty much every single list but when you’re not winning and the quarterback controls that more than anyone else then that is going to hurt you so knocks him down to nine for me and then there are so many players that you could put here at 10 but where I’m going to go I’m going to go Jared gof to round this out Todd I had no issue with you going Jared Goff at 5 um Jared G just a guy that can it big sliding scale here um but he had to make it into the top 10 for me because I’m just so impressed with what he uh really the bounceback he was able to have in his career we pretty much have similar lists here and obviously I don’t have Aaron Rogers in my top 10 was just crazy I don’t think he’s winning MVP at all this year I think um I’m convinced that he’s not going to be a top 10 quarterback this year I think he has checked out I think he has said see you he is coming back this year um but like he was thinking about running for vice president this year his mind’s all over the place he’s not fully locked into football uh and when you’re older you’ve got to be fully locked in so um Matthew Stafford a lot of people in the Toyota chat were saying Matthew Stafford he’s probably right in this next conversation Henry you actually said the craziest thing that was right you said there’s like 15 top 10 quarterbacks it’s kind of what it feels like like other guys that I would throw in this conversation Kurt Cousins for sure Jordan love the way he finished the season last year was insane but the fact that he looks so bad the first half of the Season including in the Broncos game when we watched him I just couldn’t justify it for half a year but he could be in there at the end of this year Trevor Lawrence Caleb Williams Kay Williams could be at the end of this year sure I was considering it but just couldn’t quite he in that group Tua was also like we’re talking MVP conversation he was in that um I I almost put him in there at that point too so lot of lot of good quarterbacks but let’s bring this to the Broncos side and I really love that conversation that we had let’s bring this to the Broncos perspective would you mind pulling up that list again Landon please um where could BR or B Knicks where could he realistically get in this top 10 is it after this year is it next is it two years like oh it could be this year absolutely I mean if he goes out there and just throws for like 4,000 yards like boom there you go like the world is in front of him you know there’s no you you it’s just what you do like you get what you earn at this point you know and I think the fact that we all have CJ strad at number six just shows absolutely he can be in the top 10 one year from now if we’re talking about it now CJ strad had not just a rookie of the year type of year he had an MVP sort of year he had one of the best rookie seasons of all time so if he wants to almost break into the top five if bonick wants to almost break in the top five he has to have that sort of year which I don’t want to put as like a standard that he has to set um but then you look at other guys um I had Brock perie in my top five actually he did it for a year and a half at now again very high level Henry you talk about over 4,000 passing yards that’s what Brock py did 3 to one touchdown to interception ratio led the NFL and pass rating and qbr so like the the stakes are Super S or the the bar is super super high but he can be in this in one year now more realistically it’s probably a normal rookie year where 2 to1 touchdown interception ratio but if let’s say he goes out and throws 21 touch or 22 touchdowns 11 interceptions it wouldn’t be crazy for us to be sitting here next year and saying okay this year in 2025 B needs to go out and have a three to1 touchdown to interception ratio is that too big of a jump Todd to go from two to one to 3 to one in one year I think it’s harder than people think um and I think defens defenses change year to year so you got to keep getting better every year uh I think a lot of people think you show up um the same way you trained last year and that means you’re going to have a better year this year after after one season that’s not the case you got to constantly beol evolving as a player um you know how they talk about like golfers like getting from like a a eight handicap to a scratch golfer is harder than getting from a 16 handicap to a eight handic right um so I think it’s very similar for guys who perform at a high level trying to elevate their game and for me the biggest thing for B Knicks I feel like is his athleticism has to translate well in the NFL if you look at our list is full of guys that um are athletic use their legs when they need to can evade tackles even Aaron Rogers is sneaky sneaky like uh athletic and finds ways to get out of tackles and finds ways to extend plays I think that’s what both Knicks has to do um to make it on this list yeah I I I think the athleticism is going to be important I think you know we say it’s more about like Zach Wilson who uh so he was the kind of the first big Prospect to come out after Patrick Mahomes broke out who kind of played that same way where it’s make guys miss get out of the pocket throw bombs and because he did those sorts of things he kind of flew up the draft board like because Patrick Mahomes succeeded people are like oh that’s who we want um and that’s kind of died down a little bit but bone Knicks also does play that style of football and that gets underrated by the fact that he’s asked to throw so many quick passes in the in the Oregon offense but you know that’s Patrick Mahomes throws a bunch of those two still you know it it’s what he can do on third down so I I agree that that’s going to be what separates him I mean that’s that’s why you hope he’s better than just like an average game manager type of quarterback but I also think that you know you look at all of these guys and not only they rely on their legs but they specifically rely on their legs early on like that’s how you survive the first couple years so that you get to keep playing is you use your legs to find plays and convert first downs and stay on the field so that you don’t get benched so yeah I think that that’s going to be a big part of it because we know that he’s going to be just fine throwing the ball um he’s going to be able to put the ball where it needs to be throw on time you know those quick quick Slants quick outs those sorts of things but what can you do Off Script that that’s what’s going to kind of elevate him you would hope and really the uh one massive massive thing that he has to do on top of everything that you guys said he’s got to win he he’s got to be a winner there is one there is one person well no look at this there’s one person on my list that isn’t a winner and he’s at number nine he’s got a 20 and 22 record and his stats are at as good as any quarterback has had to be uh for the first four years of their career Todd you have um no guys that are career losers that have a career losing record you have one guy that in the past two years has a 500 record but no guys with losing records in the past two years or in their career and Henry you have one guy who’s 500 in the past two years um and but overall career that you have nine out of 10 guys that have winning records that is like no Justin Herbert yeah but we all also have a a guy who was 500 last year too so um Joe burrow Joe Burl yeah but I mean like you know bigger sample size and it’s not he’s uh he’s got a winning record 12 and four two years ago um so that’s just a massive thing and that just shows some people don’t really believe in the QB win stat um I think it’s very clear just how important QB wins are though because I think regardless of if you want to Matthew Stafford in there or not um or two or something it’s pretty much all going to boil down to the same thing if B Knicks goes out and throws 40 touchdowns and has 10 interceptions there’s zero chance that he doesn’t have a winning record um because quarterback play correlates to winning games so so much so man I’ve Loved this conversation this has been an absolute blast any final thoughts from you guys uh nope just is what it is I think Justin Herbert um he is a QB a good QB is a QV uh he’s definitely a quarterback um but he’s in a terrible spot I mean Chargers are going to charge and probably see it again this year probably played really good and the Chargers will still be really bad um Harbaugh doesn’t scare you with that I think Harbaugh will make him better but he’s just a charger Harbaugh doesn’t understand like you know Michigan Michigan winning culture since before harell got there 49ers winning culture even before harell he doesn’t understand the charger like you know what I’m saying death grip that it puts on you unless like I guess Stanford had J El but they didn’t even make a bowl game with J so it’s not like they had a winning culture so maybe he views the Chargers as he viewed Stanford I hope not though because I don’t know that’s just a one coach that I really wanted the Broncos to get over Shawn Payton so the fact that he’s there sucks I think long term he’s scary but this year this year everybody’s like oh they’re the offensive line is going to be so good that running game it’s like they all they did is ADD Joe Al who might be good but he’s also a rookie tackle like how scared are you going to be of a rookie tackle meanwhile the running backs JK dobins and Gus Edwards the receivers are Josh Palmer Quinton Johnston and lad mcon like that’s a joke they on paper got much much much worse this off season now like Harbaugh maybe he bounces out and gets it back to where they were long term yeah he’s going to do probably some good things but I don’t you can’t be looking at this Chargers team as like a super team at this point that’d be insane their receivers are awful
