Steelers Rumors: CeeDee Lamb THREATS Cowboys, Might Demand Trade | Could Pittsburgh Land Him?

what’s good everyone coming to you from my lake house here in Minnesota wanted to get a quick video out to you guys uh because there’s been some stuff that has kind of happened here over the last 24 hours I think is pretty interesting and I want to share with you guys so before we get into today’s action make sure you guys click that subscribe button right now to join the largest Steelers talk Community here on YouTube we talk Steelers every single day usually I’m in my studio but I’m on vacation right now so that’s why I’m kind of coming to you from my sun room here uh so make sure you click that subscribe button right now because we got a bunch of great stuff coming your way uh over the next week or so and then I’ll be back in studio next week so let’s go over our first topic today which is CD lamb because it seems like CD is not very happy with this situation right now with the Dallas Cowboys where things are starting to devolve in a way that you know it seems like Dallas doesn’t want to pay uh CD even 32 million per season on his next contract of course Justin Jefferson got paid $35 million per year on his contract this year uh so the fact that CD lamb is reportedly looking for 32 million in my opinion is a pretty good steal for the Dallas Cowboys I think it’s actually a reasonable number because CD lamb is one of the most dominant receivers in football he was my pick last year for offensive player of the year he led the NFL in catches uh he also LED all non-qb offensive players in points above replacement so in terms of non-qb players on the offensive side of the ball from a saber metric standpoint CD lamb was the most valuable offensive player in football last season uh so this is definitely somebody that’s extremely valuable to the Dallas Cowboys and you know this is this definitely perplexing why they wouldn’t pay that $32 million per season price tag yeah that would put him up uh there as like the second highest paid receiver annually per season but lamb has proven that he is worth that kind of money and to get lamb for $3 million less per season than the Vikings had to pay for Justin Jefferson in my opinion is a pretty reasonable asking price for CD lamb at this point and it doesn’t seem like Dallas is willing to pay up so uh a report came out yesterday that lamb has told the Cowboys either pay me my price tag of $32 million per season or I want out I want to be uh traded elsewhere now the question is will Dallas pay up my my best guess is they will uh because he’s just too important to their team they’re trying to win now obviously the draft is come and gone so it’s not like they can replace him with somebody in the draft if they trade him away they’d have to wait an entire season uh to reap the benefits of any trade Capital that they end up getting uh in the draft so I just don’t see CD lamb getting traded at this point but it’s definitely interesting because if he does demand a trade you better believe the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to make a call to the Dallas Cowboys and see uh if it’s going to get if they can find a deal that could get done now I don’t think the Steelers would land uh CD land because I know for a fact that the Dallas Cowboys would want at least a first round pick probably two first round picks for somebody as productive as CD lamb is and with the quarterback situation being where it’s at here in Pittsburgh right now I don’t think that GM Omar Khan is going to be willing to give up two future first round draft picks or even one future first round draft pick for any re I think this is the big reason why the Steelers haven’t been able to get Brandon iuk is because uh the Steelers want to keep their options open in the first round next year when it comes to potentially drafting a quarterback because you just don’t know Russell Wilson or Andor Justin fields are going to pan out here during the 2024 season and to give up two first rounders for a receiver in CD lamb plus you’d have to pay him $32 million per year on his next contract one when you trade for him that is a very high price to pay for CD lamb even though in my opinion you know for some teams that price tag would probably be worth it because he is that good of a receiver he is big he is fast he’s an incredible route Runner he’s got really solid hands um and he’s pretty darn good after the catch he’s one of the most complete receivers in the National Football League so if he does demand a trade um I I think that he’ll you know Garner a very high price tag but I just don’t think the Steelers are going to be willing to pay that price tag so I don’t think CD lamb is a realistic possibility for the Pittsburgh Steelers another topic I want to talk about today is that there was a report that came out that kind of echoed what I’ve been saying on the show here lately which is that tight end Pat firemouth is expected to be the number two receiving threat for the Pittsburgh Steelers this year behind George Pickins of course this makes sense right especially if you don’t don’t go out and get another wide receiver like a Brandon auk or Michael Thomas if they’re going to pass on getting another receiver this off season Pat fireman with you can make an argument is their second most talented receiver on the team as a tight end because you got George Pickins who’s clearly your number one but then after him in the wide receiver ranks you got Roman Wilson who’s talented but a but an unproven rookie Calvin Austin I third also talented also young but still unproven and then you got guys like quz Watkins who have struggled in this league Scotty Miller has had a tough time uh you know solidifying himself as a starter van Jefferson who has barely any production the last two seasons has dealt with injuries as well so when I look at this situation here from the perspective of the Pittsburgh Steelers if you’re not going to get another receiver it makes sense that Pat fouth will be your number two receiving threat and given all the reports that we’ve heard uh about M this offseason program his connection with Russell Wilson his ability to get in and out of his cuts when running routes I mean it it just seems like it’s going to be very impressive stuff that Pat fouth is going to be putting on tape this year and I can’t wait to see his connection with Russell Wilson unfold in this Arthur Smith offense uh and I also think it what’s interesting here is that if they want to go the route of having two high-end receiving threats on this team it might make sense to save their money to pay George pickings down the line and then pay Pat fouth a tight end um top tight end money which is about half what the wide receiver Market is right now because you got Justin Jefferson making $35 million a year there’s a couple different guys making about $30 million per year and then uh you know the tight end uh Market is about half of that the highest paid tight end per year is Travis Kelce who’s making just above $17 million per season and uh I think Pat would probably get paid a little bit less than that probably $16 million per year so I think it makes a lot of sense for the Steelers to lock up Pat firemouth right now for like 1516 million per year um and then you pay George Pickins when his contract comes available down the line and that way you secure two really topend threats uh and your in your passing game there and then of course Roman Wilson is hopefully going to ascend to that number two receiver role you can fill out the rest of the receiving CP later on as well uh so I think you know relying on Pat firemouth and even locking him up as your number two receiving threat here this offseason makes a lot of sense for this football team and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they got a deal done before training camp now the final thing I want to talk about today on Steelers talk is that Pro Football Focus ranked the Pittsburgh Steelers in the top 10 of their offensive line rankings uh heading into the 2024 season they rank them ninth despite the fact that they have three uh presumptive starters in Brodrick Jones Zack Frasier and Troy fat utano all of which are either going to be in the first or second year of their respective careers so listen man when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers o line there’s no doubt it’s talented you got a bunch of high draft picks in there Isaac sealo is a is an established veteran at left guard right same thing with James Daniels at Right Guard and they got some great talent at the other spots and they definitely have the potential to be a legitimate uh top 10 unit in the League this year and if that’s the case the Run game is going to be really good Russell Wilson’s going to be protected uh and he’s going to be comfortable to throw the ball down the field and I think that you know if brck Jones Troy falano and Zack Frasier all have good Seasons then yeah the Steelers will have a top 10 maybe even top five offensive line in football this year uh but you know it’s definitely volatile right because you got those that Youth and inexperience and lack of chemistry with this unit uh so it’s definitely possible that Zack Frasier disappoints that Troy fautanu who is a bit of a disappointment in otaa struggles during the season as well bradrick Jones as we know had some struggles last year in pass protection what if those show their ugly head again here in 2024 when he moves over to left tackle so there’s there’s definitely some concerns with the Pittsburgh Steelers here uh especially with these younger offensive linemen but at the end of the day it’s definitely looking bright the future is looking bright along that offensive line and as Steelers fans we just got to hope that that offensive line can hold up nicely here in this offense which is really going to be relying on them to play high level football this year uh and if this offensive line works out and Russell Wilson has a bounceback season Arthur Smith knows what he’s doing on offense all of which are very possible we might be looking at a very productive offense for the Pittsburgh Steelers this year complemented by what we expect to be a top five defense heading into the 202 for season all right guys that’s going to be it for my thoughts on the latest Steelers news and rumors content I’ll probably put out a couple more videos uh this week here from my lak house here just going over all the different news stories that come out during the week uh if they if the Steelers trade for Brandon iuk could be
