to you guys throughout the night so today we have a showdown Philly at Chicago first pitch 8:05 p.m. Eastern from Wrigley Field and the game will be featured on TBS tonight Cubs uh short home favorites negative 120 5 Phillies plus 105 with the total sitting at uh 9 a half we got two uh inexperienced right-handed starters going toe-to-toe here Michael Marcato and Hayden wesneski uh wesneski for the Cubs has a 360 erra 1.16 on the whip he’s a reliever turn starter he’s been forced back into a starting role uh due to injuries to guys like Javier Assad and Jordan Wicks uh this is only going to be his fifth start of the season and he hadn’t started since early May before last week when he pitched only four Innings allowing three earned against the San Francisco Giants team that isn’t very good against right-handed pitching so wesneski wasn’t very sharp in his last outing and he’s also really due for some regression here his expected ER is actually over a run higher than his erra his expected ra is 4.81 we mentioned his ra at 3.60 so this is a guy that’s due for regression coming off a bad start and he’s not going to go very deep into this game he’s been effective out of the bullpen this season but um the starting world might not favor him too much today despite the fact we got the Phillies coming into this one with plenty of injuries Bryce Harper Kyle schwarber JT R Muto all on the shelf right now so some key bats on the shelf for the Phillies and they’ll be starting Michael Marcado today it’ll be his first start of his career only his second MLB appearance he threw an inning last week out of the pen but he’s been strong uh in Triple A he’s got a 1.1 1.71 ER across 47 plus innings in Triple A so far this year so marado has been strong he’ll obviously is going to be a guy that’s not going to go very deep into this game either bullpens will be key in this game but I still think the Phillies have the superior lineup over the Cubs this Cubs lineup I don’t trust their lineup uh despite the Phillies missing key bats I still think they have better lineup but where they really win this game is in the bullpen this Phillies pen has been like a top five um top 10 at least in erra and whip on the season and across the last 30 days where we got this Cubs Bullpen they’re like bottom 10 if not worse bottom five this is a really bad Bullpen that’s dealt with a lot of injuries this year so the Innings have piled up and now they got a starter that’s not going to go very deep into the game the Phillies have also been sharp on the road they’ve had a great record on the road this year 22 and 15 and they’ve won they haven’t faced off yet this season but they’ve won the last five head-to-head meetings against Chicago I’m not going to lay the price here with the Cubs I think Philly’s plus money is the way to go like I said uh Missing the some key bats that is concerning and we got two starters here I’d say the starting pitching is about a wash but the bullpen is where I really see the edge in this one so we’ll make the official play Phillies plus 105 and for the Home Run prop we’re going to pick on wesneski some more here he’s allowed eight home runs in only 45 Innings of work this year and six of them have been against right-handed bats then he’s going to be backed by the Cubs pen that’s allowed the ninth most home runs this season like we said they haven’t been very effective this year at all we got Alec bomb coming in hitting home runs in three of his last nine games got the wind blowing out from right to left so that should favor him today you know when you’re playing at Wrigley for home runs you definitely don’t want that wind blowing in obviously that’s key that we have the wind blowing out uh from right to left which should favor bomb as well and you can get them at plus 560 at FanDuel right now a lot of the other books like DK um MGM some of the other ones he’s in the 400s like you know this is this price is great price on FanDuel right now for bomb at plus 560 so that’s worth a little sprinkle like I said said before home run props are never something that we want to put a a full you know an official play on or anything like
