BREAKING NEWS: Ottawa Senators Re-Sign Shane Pinto | Immediate Reaction
Ottawa Senators fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief as Shane Pinto’s contract negotiations are finally over I’m Brandon Piller from the locked on Senators podcast and Shane Pinto has signed a 2-year Bridge deal with the Ottawa Senators with a total value of 7.5 million that’s an aav of 3.75 in the first year it’s going to be 2.5 million and in the second year it’s going to be 5 million I love this deal because there’s two more RFA years after this it leaves the sends with about $3.1 million in cap space so they can make a couple moves and I think this is a good deal for both sides Shane Pinto gets to get back to playing hockey you know he wants to be back with the boys and you know he wanted to stay in Ottawa and the senders get to see how this team is going to look in a few years down the road when they look at resigning Shane Pinto so this is an awesome move sense fans are so relieved there was rumors on Twitter about did he ask for a trade did he not ask for a trade are other teams calling on him are we going to lose Shane Pino here and now it’s done a bridge duel two more years of Shane Pinto with the Ottawa senders can’t wait to see him back in ascends Jersey Ross and I will have more on this and the Matthew Joseph trade that happened after we recorded today on the next episode of the locked on cators podcast we’re recording very soon in a couple hours so it’s going to be an early drop for you guys you can find the lockon centers podcast on YouTube apple and Spotify check it out it’s your team every day

While I'm underwhelmed that the Sens didn't sign any of the big names that were available, they did accomplish what they set out to do. They drafter a rh defenseman, acquired a #1 goalie, added to their top six with Perron, to their bottom 6 with Amadio & Gregor, acquired a rh shot defenseman, signed Pinto and got some veterans to help Giroux. I guess with the limited cap space they had we couldn't expect much more. If Norris manages to play this year, Perron can drop to the 3rd line. I hope they give Crookshank and Jarventie a chance. Time will tell how well they did.

this new GM seems pretty sound. Indicating what needs to get done and gets it done. No fan fair BS. He looks like he could get rid of the entire roster in a heartbeat if they don’t perform. (Excellent) . The last GM tried to be everyone’s best friend. At some point you play or you’re gone. Better to do that then drag it on like the leafs do. 😂

Staios gets an A+ for me in his first off season here so far. I like all the moves.
Pinto bleeds sens. The whole trade request thing was gaslighting from maple leafs pundits. Very happy with this deal. I still think norris deserves a shot but if he gets injured this season – buy him out and give pinto the money. Norris has missed so much hockey that unfortunately i don't think he can be the player we signed him to be. Only time will tell but i really think this is what is going to happen after next season
I’d assume Staios spends 0 mins per day worrying about Sens fans in social media. He’s making all the necessary decisions. No apologies.
When they got good goaltending they beat the best teams. With the upgraded defence and goalie they should be playoff bound if injuries don’t hurt them.
3.6 million in cap space left for probably 2 fourth line forwards and Kleven. If the fourth line comes in at 2M they have about 700 k to improve the D core. If JBD is sent down that would mean signing a 1.5 M defender. If they only carry 12 forwards that number jumps to more like 2.3M. There is still room to improve this team.
Pinto’s a great 3rd Centre but a mediocre 2nd centre. I hope he and Norris can stay healthy for a year.
