Padres vs. Rangers Game Highlights (7/2/24) | MLB Highlights

and on the mount for the Rangers will be Nathan evaldi making his 14th start he is 4 and3 with a 3.45 ER opponent average is just 221 and he bounces this one to second base not a real challenge Simeon throws him out and we’re underway tonight 3-2 and profar hammers at to center field sends Taris back and he’s got enough room out there to make the catch two down and that one off the handle popped up back of first and low is right there in a one two three first inning for raldi Jan CE on the Bound for the Padres 18th start for the veteran rander 7 and6 record the ER 3.84 let’s see if uh C throws a lot of fast balls T it against these Rangers will’ll take a look at strike three first strike out for Dylan CE a start to KN one away oh a wonderful start for CE and he hits this ball hard out to center field that gets down base hit Merill gathers it up but Smith is aboard as the first runner with the ball game for either team against the Rangers in his career CE has gone 3 and one with a 482 erra low has had the most success against him he’s going three for n and that Ball’s hit well deep out to right field the change up is gone he went off speed with low and low made him pay and it’s a two nothing Rangers lead and Nathaniel low continues his hot hitting as you see this change up coming out of the hand of Dylan CE he leaves it up out over the plate and Nathan low just hammers this one into the seats and right field pay off Pitch and a swing in a Miss struck him out we SE fast ball to get it done second strike out of the inning for CE two down swing and a miss and C strikes him out went to the slider to get it done but a two-run home run for low as the Rangers on top two nothing middle third of the order due here for San Diego payoff pitch swung on and Miss he Strikes Out Machado one away 96 mph a little bit in off the pl and he gets him aado to Chase and he hits this ball hard out to left field takes Langford back but he’ll make the catch and the inning is over six up and six down for evaldi Jonah the switch hitter stands in on the left side he’s hitting 232 and the 3-2 pitch that’s hit hard out to the alley and right field that’s down extra bases time goes to Second he’ll stop there with a lead off double in the second inning Jonah jumps all over this fast ball from Dylan CE 98 mph again elevated out over the plate swinging a miss and he was laid on that striking out of the 98 fourth strike out for Dylan c one away he set him up sweeper off the plate not a competitive pitch coming right back at 98 out or third the one out with him at second base and leot Tois now that Ball’s hammered deep out to Center that’s trouble that one’s up against the 410 marker high is in easily RBI double by Tas it’s 3 nothing leod’s another bat that is starting to wake up here jumps on this fast ball a little bit on the inner half of the plate and hits it just below the 410 sign out there in right center field valdi has turned back the first six batters he’s faced tonight valdi goes right after him that one hit sharply down to third kum’s off for NIS great recovery by Smith and they got k at first wow what a play this ball is ripped to the hot corner right here as it kicks off and carams Smith with a fantastic one-handed grab a strong accurate through and they get Kim over at first base wow Josh Smith staying with that play the entire way the one strike pitch to arise and he lines out out to center field coming on for Taris and he’ll make the catch the inning is over no runs a hit one left two and 1 half complete Rangers are on top here three nothing so Smith on board with the lead off walk low got a hold of a 2-2 change up his first time up see how CE intends to handle him this time that’s in the air left field so far going back near the wall it is gone second home run of the night for Nathaniel low oh Baby that ball just continued to carry this is a fast ball a little bit on the inside part of the plate but he stays inside it he’s showing off some of that power you’re going the other way like that that’s impressive there’s a ball hit sharply under the glove of Solano down the left field line ADI hit first headed to Second and that ball just now picked up by profar but ADI pulled into second with a double so the Rangers with three doubles and two home runs the ground ball to second base diving frontward second for one on to First for two boy he needed that big Double Play Turn there spectacular plays all over the infield by the Padres this is as good as it gets right here well Jake konorth with the glove flip now there’s no guarantee he’s just throwing it in the general area and then on the backside Kim’s got a cover okay he’s got to go across and then do a little tiptoe do a little dance to complete the double play first up is leoi to veras he had an RBI double his first time up and that one is over third Right Down the Line that’s a fair ball that’ll be extra bases to Veris into second base and he’ll pull up there his second double of the night squares to bunt drops it first base side CE will have to scoop it underhand to First and he does so in time good sacrificed by orelis leot to third bait and a chance for Marcus to add to his RBI ey total this year currently at 44 and he lifts that into left field profar coming in it drops in front of him base hit and Taris does score BL Barbi single for Marcus semian and it’s six to nothing you make an adjustment that’s what it’s all about Padre’s need to make an adjustment one and two swing and a miss and down goes Merill it’s six in a row retired by avaldi has struck out four tonight and it brings up Hung Kim with the Rangers on top 6 to nothing a swing and a miss a strike out of Kim on three pitches it’s a nine pitch fifth inning for raldi who’s getting better as a night wears on sixth inning has arrived little bouncer Third Base charging in orell to throw to first in time that is how we begin the six one pitch one out baly wasting no time and that’s lifted out to left field long run for lford into that corner and he made the catch just before banging into that wall a spect cular defensive play by Langford it’s a tough little corner here at glob light field out in their left not a lot of space once you go over the fou line coring that ball for an out like he’s ready in their pin arise with a soft bouncer up the middle Smith way over behind second throws the first and makes another great defensive play this time to get arise leot on board for the third time and here’s orelis Jonathan ornelles credited with a sacrifice bunt his last time up this one lined out into left field that’s a hit for orelis and that rolls all the way to the wall taras has good speed they’ll wave him around third he scores on the double by orelis and the Rangers have a seven nothing lead well you got to love it when you continue to add on later in the ball game orelis gets a little little slider down and in slashes this one out there into the left field this ball rolls all the way to the wall and as as soon as it hits the wall T Vera is going to come around third scoring easily and Nellis with a stand up double and an RBI the two men are out here in the top of the seven and that brings up Manny Machado he he Strikes Out Machado seventh inning stretch time here in Arlington Texas 7 San Diego nothing Rangers are an outway from a two hit shut out and a seven to nothing win the pitch swung on ground ball to third backhanded by orelis he straightens he throws he got him and the ball game’s over it is a two hit shut out for evaldi and Hernandez as the Rangers blank the Padres seven to nothing and well play a game as the Rangers have had and sometimes

  1. This is the second combined 2 hitter they have had in the last few weeks. They had another one in Sherzer's first start back. We really need these bats to wake up in the second half of the season.
