He should and will be there.
If he pitched all 79.2 innings he’s thrown in 2024 on the Pirates he’d have 3.5 bWAR. The current NL leader for pitching bWAR has 3.0. That 0.5 difference is the same as the difference between the current #1 leader and #6 on the leader board.
He’s on pace for 6.6 bWAR in 150 innings, which is the innings limit many anticipate. Lopez is on pace for 6.7 if he reaches his previous max innings pitched (188).
