His combination of sweet-spot % (launch angle) and Barrel rates are extremely impressive for any player in the MLB, let alone a rookie. His 60th percentile average exit velocity is just the cherry on top. He almost never whiffs or Ks.
He’s by far and away our most promising hitter after Judge and Soto, and should receive much more playing time than he is. I’m talking everyday playing time. I understand he can’t hit LHP right now, but he’s only had 12 ABs. It’s important to let him develop in this regard and we shouldn’t be scared to let him figure it out against the occasional lefty – it’s not like the alternatives are much better.
I really like him. With enough reps he could be a staple of our team.
Yanks love this sort of shit, yet sit him in favor of fucking jamhai jones. This is a Mickey Mouse organization
Let’s let him get way more game time before we gush over his Savant page.
Edit: To be clear, I like Rice a lot and think he really has the potential to be a big league contributor. Just getting excited over a Savant page based on 10 games is jumping the gun by quite a bit
He should learn how to run the bases
Too bad he’s a lefty so he’s not allowed to try to hit lefties
love to see that Barrel % and xBA. kid has a pretty swing, very smooth through the zone. like to keep him
He hits the ball hard and seems to be a quick learner.
Hit him behind Judge he can’t be worse than Verdugo has been.
It’s decided then. We cut Rizzo.
I appreciate that our catcher who is playing first base is one of the fastest guys in the team
Already feel better about him than Rizzo, I hope he stays long term
This just makes me mad to look at considering he’s in a time share with JD Davis, DJ, and Jahmai Jones… and if I know this organization, they’re gonna try and throw Rizzo right back in the mix when he gets back

I’m sure if you looked at Oswaldo’s 10 games into his season it would have looked incredible too and everyone was talking about [Wells’ page](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/austin-wells-669224?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb) for a while which looks a lot more pedestrian now
