Browns Players Who Could Be Traded Before the Start of Training Camp – Sports4CLE, 7/3/24

this from dog pound daily three Browns players who could uh be traded ahead of training camp they say uh Jerome Ford when Nick chub was injured in week two against Pittsburgh Steelers Ford pushed into the starting role uh 12 yards eight rushing attempts in week one number two back had 36 um yards 15 attempts number two they say Maurice Hurst defensive tackle quick to sign veteran players on one-year deals prove they have what it takes to succeed in the NFL um so they did take Michael Hall Jr so that that’s kind of the rationale there number one Elijah Moore ume of the 2023 season sent 42nd overall pick they did a pick swap in exchange for more in the 74th pick Moore was taken in the second round at 34 and and has not lived up to the potential is kind of the rationale there um I don’t think there’s any way they’re trading Jerome Ford I would be surprised if they trade Maurice Hurst or elij I don’t think they’re trading any of those guys I just don’t yeah I mean there’s really no reason to drone for I mean right now i’ put him as rb1 right now until Nick chub’s 100% yeah there were inconsistencies I think with Jerome Ford’s game that he was too much a boomer bus but at the very minimum you see you see a guy who’s capable of making big plays it could especially be a threat out of the backfield as a receiver which is a is is a nice thing to have for the Browns so certainly I would hang on to him especially because they really didn’t do much they didn’t do anything in the draft they got him I know they got a couple veterans and Deontay foreman and Naim Hines to help out with dep we’ll see how that all translates Maurice Hurst I think I don’t know he’s had a lot of injuries so I doubt he would have a lot of value obviously I think he played well for the Browns prior to his injury last season and with and with Mike Hall Jr I get that you want maybe you want to get him on the field but I think with defensive tackle you want to protect him a little bit and really put him in advantageous situation till he gets stronger and understands all the nuances playing defensive tackle in the NFL and going to number one with elij more yeah I just I don’t see that especially considering he’s in a contract year that you his best year was last year when he had about 600 some yards and I think only two touchdowns I think it said he’s he’s solid um I don’t know how high his ceiling is and it if you’re a team why would you want to trade for him now when you could probably get him you know in free agency poti potentially for maybe n maybe 10 11 million and he could be a solid solid two or three at that rate I think if you’re the Browns you’re probably smart just to hold on Elijah Mo and see if you can get some compensatory pick value for Elijah Moore because I think there’s more value right now in keeping him than there would be in trading him

Dave Bacon and Tim Bielik respond to Dawg Pound Daily’s 3 players the Browns could trade ahead of training camp.
