what’s happened abely I’m going to ask an important question how can we pick up the Vibes I’m telling you my mentions are a dumpster fire I want people to be happy how can we pick up the Vibes and by we I mean the Denver Nuggets how can they pick up our Vibes we’re also going to say what is the emerging storyline of the season right now let’s start at craft it you know that’s the thing about the off season Once it’s winding down you say okay there’s a new story emerging and then later in the show we’re going to snake draft players we hope never wear the Denver Nuggets uniform brenon votes in the house speaking of players we hope never suit up brenon votes in the house is that me yeah that’s you it’s like I mean I you know I don’t I haven’t offered you know that’s true I’m not asking for that dude these walks are getting hot man it’s we’re in the middle of summer you know I can tell I go outside and it’s hot dude I’m learning a lot about nature after a rough start over here back from Serbia dine Co that’s right guys I’m back and I couldn’t be more bummed about it I you just got engaged well about the back did dline plan uh this is how you do it at work plan a vacation so you return during another vacation like he’s back days off coming up well but I would I would say the man with vision would would say extend the vacation into the time so what I’m gonna so what I’m what I did for those who don’t know I went I got engaged I came back and I’m going to spend five to six days by myself in my apartment well you can go to Adam’s house and shoot off legal firor you want to get on some I can’t be complicit in this then over there Harrison this is live breaking news into the show free agency news no way PJ doer to the Timberwolves no no and first off I swear to God Tim strikes again like this move doesn’t really matter that much Conley is effing with this show in particular this show kick them while they’re down he’s effing with the nuggets and by doing that this show I’m going to text him he’s sabotaging this show and our Toyota chat on purpose dude there’s no we got to look at that again there’s no way that doesn’t say the Phoenix Suns the Phoenix that has to go to the Phoenix Suns wow damn it is true that all of our favorite players go to our least favorite teams bro it’s it’s rough man all of our least even good no but we love him but we love him my advice to contenders on the on the cusp fans of contenders if they get it done just savor it every second of the moment look at us miserable dude I’m telling you we laughed honestly before the Nuggets ever won a title we laughed at Warriors fans and how miserable they were all the time they were just steeped in misery like are you not grateful for it but you get it man you immedately want that beautiful hit of adrenaline man it just make it makes you Jones it’s like they say you should never try crack that’s how it is for championships one don’t try it again can you confirm that kale that’s what they say who’s the next guy Tim’s going to sign bonees Highland yeah it’s bone Highland for sure it’s bone Highland trade for him well he’ll do it do I what what’s he worth 12 second round picks or something Austin Rivers probably looking for a job yeah just go to our draft board actually of all X probably Bruce Brown and kcp unbelievable all these guys Thomas Welsh is he still in a league he’s not in a league league I most recently I knew he was Defensive Player of the Year in a in a I think in Taiwan dude I’m telling you that I tried to play in the Taiwanese League back in the day it really come a long way I think but still it’s like the lowest of Le did you get in no I didn’t so you know I actually think Tim might have signed him right before this show so we would lead with it this guy this man’s playing 40 chest 40 would he have a press conference in the playoff you know that would actually be awesome like I if someday hopefully there’s a show that’s just about this show oh that would be and then we just like feed them little things and they laugh about it just laugh and laugh like we’re so easy like you feed us PJ doer we’re going to start the show with that yeah totally I mean come on oh my god um well Eric you were gone and nobody’s talked to you since n in any form what um what do you think so kcp is gone this is your chance man we’ve been whining and pissening and moaning what what do you what do you feel I okay we just uh you can see it tomorrow we just recorded a uh serving corner with the illustrious mirav chuk um where I kind of went into my feelings and I as I said on that program I am of two minds on this number one obviously it’s a terrible blow to lose kcp because you are in nikolic’s window of prime you need to maximize it every single year you need to put the best players on the court but I also appreciate long-term planning and I like deliberate action from GMS and people that aren’t just reacting in the moment and aren’t like just kind of jumping left to right we’ve this is an argument I had about Michael Malone for many many years people were just like mad about the way that he does things um but I like how measured he is and how he actually has method to Madness this was always Calvin Boo’s plan was to have the succession plan in place knowing full well that the structure of the NBA um finances were going to changeed so drastically that you can’t just look at it free agency the way you could in the before times and the Nuggets really made their bed by signing their top three players mpj included to such lucrative contract that this was always going to happen they were going to have to be able to sacrifice and be able to organically grow a fifth starter or at least some other people to come in and so from that standpoint I’m like okay this was premeditated I appreciate that like I don’t think that Christian Brown is a 2,000% drop off from kcp do you think he how much of a drop off do you think he is I don’t know from a defensive standpoint I don’t know that he is much of a drop off from offensive standpoint I think he’s a fairly big drop off but I don’t know that like kyp was a guy that was scoring like at his Zenith 10 points per game in it’s just he had the opportunity he had the ability to On Any Given night go off and hit five dagger like threes which you don’t know if Christian has that capability in him like yeah you don’t know if he has that but you also don’t know that he doesn’t have that that’s a good point what would you guess though if I were to say right now what’s the most threes he will hit in a single game Christian Brown uh three It All season as a starting shooting guard all all right sorry wrong yeah looks like I’m wrong again guys I’ll go with four incorrect with four but no higher but no higher I’m kind of scared to say my answer I want to hear it uh five that’s all he’s capable of making so just for reference kcp has two games of six and then he has a bunch of games with four or actually Bunch four games with four so if kcp his high was six last year I’m going to go five that seems like five seems like a good number I feel like that’s okay few I mean what I mean what are we talking it’s just like he’s in that ring it is not inconceivable that he could have a hot game like kyp gives you so I’ll bet you he’s open way more than kcp was just cu the open way more and also like less we forget kyp got bullied by Anthony Edwards bullied by him and it really was one of the things that spelled Doom for the Denver Nuggets and that didn’t happen against Christian Brown it did not happen he was a much more Stout Defender um I don’t imagine he’s going to give you the more casual steals that kyp would and he won’t get in passing Lanes like kyp would he doesn’t have like the veteran Savvy that kyp brings and obviously not the Swagger but I don’t think anything’s like that is off the table for him to develop and I don’t think it’s so unreasonable to think that it’s we I mean kcp is like a good player that can look like a great player in the right system it’s like not the entire world wasn’t jonesing for kcp when he was on the Wizards um and when he was on the Pistons and like when he’s put in the right position on the Lakers on the Nuggets you’re like wow that is a guy you have to get and like I don’t know Christian Brown like can he be that level of role player like I think I think so I think so it’s just the part that sucks is The Vibes part where we’re like oh man we just we’re we’re just like losing things um and it’s this part of the Season that you feel like makes the entire season but that that’s false it’s just not true it’s just like you can win the championship at this portion of the season if you’re the Boston Celtics last year but you can also just make a lot of noise and make things seem bigger than they are at this point because there’s nothing else to look at so at the end of the day like I don’t think the Nuggets got meaningfully worse and I do think like it is entirely conceivable that just Christian Brown’s development alone can get them at least back to where they were and possibly better yeah I think that is a lot that is a lot by the way he had three games this year with three threes wrong dude Off the Bench let me bump it up to four brother listen I I shorted him what can I say that’s on me um the more I chew on this this is such a weird year man you know for the Nuggets like an off season and i’ I’ve talked about it a lot but I just feel like the sting of how it all ended is carrying over when those things sometimes they do carry over sometimes a loss does carry over to the next season where like the team never recovered from that one year I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen this year I really don’t I I do think though in this moment that we’re in where there hasn’t really been it’s exactly it we haven’t had a thing to take it away from us you know what I mean like we had to kind of sit no one’s changed our diaper nobody’s changed our diaper we had to sit here for the longest anybody’s ever had to sit in it I’ve got at some point it will be different and I do think that one of the things we keep going back to is the Nuggets won a lot of games with way worse teams than what they’re going to have this year and it’s and you were reminded that the margins do matter and they bear themselves out in the playoffs of next year but there is so much time between the playoffs next year and right now and the and the story lines that will be present at that moment will be so different than the story lines we feel are going to be present in at this moment so the other I’ll add is that we are at the precipice of the unknown which is we don’t actually know how teams that have barreled into the second apron are going to be penalized like we don’t actually know what that looks like until we kind of go through like we can read it on paper but like the Boston cells could find themselves in a situation where they actually need to add a guy um on the buyout Market or there’s something that comes up and they’re just like they they are have nowhere to go because they already made their moves in this offseason so we don’t know what this all looks like like it it just feel it feels bad right now man but you know the one way to get around this is to go to Europe and drink a bunch of orang I don’t care I feeline that’s how you feel now yeah I feel fine that’s how you feel what about the Westbrook piece of this which of course has not happened actually let me get in front of this wind couple things number one a lot of people are asking why isn’t anything happening are people sitting on their hands I don’t want to break to you people that don’t realize how the NBA Works 90% of all transactions that have happened in free agency were discussed weeks ago I tried to say all this yesterday yeah I mean but people see today like why are they sitting on their hands I’m not even kidding when I say when I talk to people about what’s the time frame there’s a lot of I don’t knows and it’s like well is everything right yeah everything’s fine but the timing is just what it is and I just think that’s it’s not a nugget specific thing that’s how a lot of these deals are they get signed and it’s like well was that a wheel you know wheeling and dealing last minute no it was agreed upon often times small counter if if these deals were were agreed upon so long ago it is taking a bit well the thing is is that for the Russell Westbrook p in particular is you’re waiting on the Clippers to buy them out in theory and on top of that dude they’re building toilets yeah toilet and and often times when teams are doing deals like that they’re waiting to see what other options are like especially the smaller deal I think a bigger deal there’s more moving Parts but a small deal like that it could be as simple as oh some other team has a move that’s that they just need a third team to facilitate and you can fit Westbrook into that just to make it work and then you end up getting a second or something and why do it early you can wait till this or that so there’s a million reasons that a team could be waiting for it I just I just there’s perception that like the nuggets are out to vacation and are coming back on Friday it’s like come on guys it’s hilarious every FR agent that goes off the board it probably happened with PJ doer you know the reaction is what is Calvin Booth doing well I’ll tell you what he’s doing he’s targeting his top two Targets like the two players at the Nuggets went into free agency looking to get they’re still on track to get them like they had two players in their SS when free agency began I know those two players are still out there those two players are still probably going to end up on the Nuggets um so all the talk about like they’re not signing anybody this guy’s off the board cross PJ do are off the list um that’s not how it works uh the two guys that they want they’re still likely going to get so that’s that I just like the vision of Calvin Booth like running up and down the hallway like does anyone have Gary Trent Jr’s number like like what do we do I messaged him on LinkedIn but I don’t know if he checks that does anyone follow him on Instagram no um that being said it’s always entirely possible that news can come through that these deals fell through and like that has also happened as well teams thought they had what they had falls through and all of a sudden what do you know you’re the last guy at the dance no one to dance with and you end up having to go out and get some terrible players I I say that to say that I’m not telling nuggets Nation not to have a a worry or this or that I’m just saying that nothing to me has surprising and nothing has changed from all the conversations that I have had um all right let’s take a break on the other side what can pick up Harrison as you start to think like where’s the end Insight where’s the where do we what has to happen for the fan base to be like all right I’m settled I mean it would start with the Nuggets completing their roster yeah step one that that’d be step one and I mean I think that will happen soonish yeah you know and then I don’t think anything’s going to be really settled until we see this team play I feel like from the point fre agency ends maybe somebody Pops at summer league and that gives us some ammo for a couple weeks but really from the time FR agency ends until the start of the Season there’s going to be some anxiety I feel like within nuggets nation and I don’t think that’s going to go away until you see this team on the floor what do you think Eric is there something coming that’s we need to have one piece of new it’s just you think it’s just news yes this is what happens like during this time it’s like everyone else is get doing stuff what are we doing we need Russell Westbrook to sign they to picture of Westbrook and Joker sipping Rocko timing or something that’s the type of thing we need you’re just you’re getting to something though do you remember the precursor to the championship wasn’t it Aaron Gordon goes out he’s in SoMo this or that maybe we just need to see a player out a lot of guys say they want to go DeAndre Jordan has said he’s definitely going we get into Olympic season and there’s a couple nuggets watching Jamal watching Nicole that’ feel good that will happen a% um but yes it just is the it feels like the league is passing Us by at this moment because nothing has happened and we’re like uh all these teams are getting better and we’re not doing anything we’re just losing players so they just need to get one piece of news to happen and then people will be like oh okay because everything even though you know regardless of the source nothing has happened like we just need to have something concrete that feels like okay the nuggets are still engaged they’re still competing they’re still striving and it just doesn’t feel like that at this moment but this is we’re just locked in the moment you know what I mean yeah I honestly personally I think it has more to do with like we got to see joic again because this is the thing is the mar matter I’m not trying to tell people they don’t matter but we need to be reminded that we have nikolic and seeing him play for team Serbia I think will go a long ways to being like oh that’s right and to be honest with you we need to I told mirav this today I was like I kind of need a Serbia win more than you do like I need Serbia to come out and play well definitely not true what’s that definitely not true I’ve been to Serbia they needed more you haven’t seen how I’ve been feeling lately uh but honestly I think it’s I think it’s a lot of that yes there will be something when and if these deals go through they’ll be an exhale summer league comes but I think the Olympics you see yok play puts up a monster game and you’re like oh that’s right this guy’s awesome incredible yeah I can I can I I’ve got a take for you guys on a casual ONN you know what I think we need more to see Jamal Murray look great for Team Canada I agree I think first of all let’s not let’s get greedy i’ take both but I think for the most part outside of seeing yic hit a bunch of Threes cuz I know people are worried about the shooting a little bit tiny bit I think people trust yoin you know and that’s probably an understatement so but I think Murray coming out looking motivated looking great uh and looking like he uh looking fired up I think could all go a long way towards the margins do matter but ultimately nothing matters more than those two guys so I that that that’s still there’s still a truth there in the NBA I think you know maybe this Celtics team is a bit of an outlier with their outrageous depth but the the the onew punch I think still matters so much and uh we got to it how we felt about Denver’s one two got a little shaky for the first time in years and this is a great way to put it I think just seeing Jamal really ball out would go a long way I agree I think Jamal Marie is the biggest piece of all of this and by the way they play next week vers Team USA and a friendly that I believe will be on TV so there is a chance we’ll get to watch Jamal Murray himself play basketball and it would be a good look of like what’s he been up to in the last two months you know he’s kind of gone dark as most athletes do so I agree with you I think that would be huge yeah so last night at like 3:00 a.m. I was watching um I was watching the Christian Brown minutes that he played with the starters and there’s only of them there’s only 34 of them all season oh 34 okay so it didn’t take that long uh 17 of those minutes came in one game against the Lakers and I was just like all right I want to see how this looks how do the Nuggets look on offense when you sub Christian Brown in for kcp with the starting lineup sure enough they look great the starting lineup cooked that game against the Lakers they had like 120 offensive rating and my biggest takeaway from watching those 17 minutes that the starters and Christian Brown played against the Lakers was Jamal Murray and Nicole yic were just cooking really they were absolutely cooking and sure enough the nuggets offense looked great right and it was just kind of a reminder of yes Christian Brown to kcp that’s a little bit of an offensive drop off but I came away from this little exercise having a lot more confidence that look the offense I think is going to be fine because they have Nicole yic and Jamal Murray and every night in the regular season those guys are just better than the next two guys or the top two guys that are going against on the other team it’s true yeah and let’s not forget also like uh Christian Brown brings rebounding where kcp did not Yep this has been my take so there’s going to be some he’s especially offensive rebounding yeah so there this is you lose something but you add something else and you know you lose offensive uh prowess with kcp but that’s not something that they were Reliant upon right and you also get transition which has never been a huge part of for Denver but I do think it could become one with some of these younger horses if a Westbrook does end up coming I think that could help as well I’ll also go smaller I don’t know that this could actually pick up the Vibes totally but I do think it would be like a short hit of Vibes like a coffee okay PP of Vibes A vibe pump dude it might be like a venty coffee if you will okay nice summer league wouldn’t be bad BR year we see Don H out there he’s looking incredible Julian St goes out hits like seven threes or something you can do it I know you can do it yes you can you can do it you’re telling me you wouldn’t feel anything if it was like a good summer league nothing here’s what I truly I understand the spirit of the segment so I’m not trying to be a wet blanket but I’m going to do it if I’ve learned anything and I probably haven’t you haven’t if I’ve learned anything doing this job summerly doesn’t mean [ __ ] it doesn’t but it feels good it’s okay to feel good I’m saying how do we feel good yeah dude we I’m not asking for the Cure I’m asking for some medication we came out of we came out of Summer League with like we’re like oh my God bones Highland is going to set this league on fire we came out of Summer League like holy [ __ ] we have Larry Bird in Hunter Tyson I think I but in all sincerity like Don Holmes is a guy that we think might play this year I don’t think it’s a lock by any means in fact I kind of feel like maybe not but you know what you go out there and look NBA ready and you fit into a system and maybe there’s even just some you know something else in the game that you didn’t anticipate to me it does mean something and more importantly you know what else happens in summer league you see the fellas you see the guys out there and there’s a chance that it’s like all right you see the guys come through cheering I think Team Canada and Team USA might even be out there already just as hold over I don’t know so there’s just a chance that it’s like oh that’s right you know yeah and it’s not just Don Holmes man like if Julian Str looks good at Summer League more important that’s more important than Don Holmes potentially looking good like Julian Str I think is in probably in line for more playing time than Don Holmes right now Hunter Tyson like if he looks good that’s going to be great um that’s probably about where it stops but like there are definitely two you can talk yourselves into three guys that like you could get a Vibes bump from them having good showings at Summer League of course dude summer league is is built exclusively on Vibes there’s as you say very little to do with the basketball but that it is it’s basketball in and of itself and what are we doing we just want to be entertained it’s the pizza part that episode of The Office where he gets a pizza party and everybody Happ all the tension has dissipated that’s what you need that’s summer league is the pizza party of The Vibes right now as long as you don’t have a first round pick that shits the bed yes see I love summer league I love it because you get to see flashes little flashes if you have you can you can see the guys like you can you can see them in summer league like it just they separate themselves you see guys you’re like oh and but you can see guys that you’re like you know whether or not they’re dominating or not you just you’re like I can I that looks right that looks correct and that’s fun and um I’ll say it again our league team’s GNA kick ass you’ve been saying it a lot I’ve been saying it again this is you’ve been saying it a lot it’s be st’s GNA be good pick’s Gonna Be Good Hunter Tyson’s gonna be good I have no desire to take this away from you we just do it every year G to be good baby I’m happy you’re happy I’m so happy you guys need to go to Europe for 2 weeks and engag I know so I’ve been here I’ve been right here uh anything else that we can pick up the Vibes do you guys feel like is there a thing that you think we should all be hoping for uh anybody else going to get engaged on the panel just just dine just me well uh what if we I mean no there’s nothing I mean we’re just we are in the dog days of the dog day of the Summer where we just need there to be something that we’re we’re we’re stopped up what do you think it means that the Nuggets odds are so high still that the they have good starting players go back to what I just said they have Nicole yic and Jamal Murray they’ll win a lot of tell we just need that’s all really comes down to we just need to be reminded of how freaking awesome yic is and once you see it again you’re like oh that’s right okay maybe Christian Brown is actually awesome next to yic maybe even Westbrook is awesome next to yic if those things are true then it’s like all right we’re back on baby back on Parade let’s take a break on the other side what are the story favorite two years was the or year and a half whatever it really was ion and melow together and I was thinking this almost feels like this era’s version of that where it’s this thing you cuz I was you know at that time if you recall you Iverson was not a guy we were fake trading for that wasn’t a thing that you saw coming like okay it’s around the corner it just happened and you were like what the hell Iverson and Mel and then you thought does it even make sense like kind of kind of not I don’t know turns out no but it was fun this one could be like that it where it’s this weird sub era that’s really popular and everything else but the only difference is I actually with yic y’s not Melo the question was how is Melo going to fit there and that question was Melo never changes his game for anyone whereas yic can play with anyone so it could be different but I see that as a sort of a storyline is I kind of feel like good or bad the if Westbrook comes here it might be the most popular nuggets team ever or of the yic era interesting interesting i Westbrook is very popular he’s more popular than anybody yish has played with well to me the difference between that era that you referenced and this potential new era is that Westbrook is looking to be the the sixth man at best he’s not like we’re not yeah we’re not putting him next to it we’re saying like how can we improve the bench how can we I more mean culturally just the feel you know it feels like it understood yeah uh you know if if we’re talking culturally for me I hate it I Westbrook for me represents one of my biggest villains in the NBA he’s a guy I despise and I hope bad things happen to him and everyone of your guy every time he fails I celebrate he blocked Rocky’s uh halfcourt shot I’ll never forgive him he jeers he booos the crowd he gets in fights with people in the in the crowd he is he set the record against the nuggets the crowd cheered for him it was a dark moment in the history of fandom there are so many terrible things that have come with Russell Westbrook and he is a player I wish the absolute worst for and I hope that we get him because he’s good he’s a good player and I’ve known I I’ve seen how I can personally do an immediate about face when my least favorite person becomes a person on my team like the guy that you hate becomes the guy that other teams hate I saw this happen with Boogie cousins that’s a guy that I absolutely wanted the absolute worst and then now I look at him fondly I’m like man he’s so misunderstood a Mal nobody understands Boogie cousins like we only Michael Malone can see Into the Heart of that of that dog that lion and so Westbrook is a guy that is a former MVP Westbrook is a guy that is better than Reggie Jackson Westbrook is a guy that still has a little bit of juice in the tank and the Denver Nuggets ultimately in my opinion failed and faltered against the Minnesota Timberwolves because Michael Malone did not trust his bench unit and he rode his starters that entire seventh game and they ended up coughing up a 20-point lead because of it and they were so close to getting over the top now what we’re talking about is losing kcp and then also at bolstering the bench but like to me this retooling potential retooling of the bench is Meaningful and it’s actually something that I can see with a player like wussell Westbrook we’ve never had a guy with his athleticism we’ve never had a north and south Runner like him we’ve never had a guy that just goes just goes right to the rim you pair that with like some of the it’s just like a different Dynamic and it’s a different Paradigm and it’s hard to like wrap your head around it but like that’s a guy with Talent still and if they can pull it off it’s like okay cool that’s like a that is actually like a serious move because you’re not tinkering that much with you’re not going to [ __ ] with the the starting lineup other than I guess losing a guy but we can’t pay for it it’s not that they don’t want to it’s just they can’t like so to me this is like actually a pretty deaf clever moveie if they can pull it off so I’m like I’m in like unless it doesn’t happen and then I’m like thank God [ __ ] Russell Westbrook right my kind of take on the rotation right now if you get Westbrook if you get your backup center the bench I think has a chance to be decent you know Westbrook backup center another year of Payton Watson he’s older he’s coming back a better player yes um a strawther maybe some potential to stagger more starters with the bench I think that could happen more next season there’s a very potential scenario out there where the bench is better last year it it will be better it’s going to be hard for it to be worse that’s the point and so if your bench is better and if your starters are just slightly worse which is what I guess they’ll be they could the star lineup could be as good as last year’s it could be better but if I had to guess right now like it’s slightly worse but if your bench is better that’s a great tradeoff no doubt dude because by the end of the season your starters aren’t going to be as worn out as they were this year I know if if joic like every time he comes in isn’t like well uh there’s 10 points I have to make up because the bench just cost us 10 points like yeah I mean look I still think a lot of this is going to come down to rotations I still think if it’s for bench guys out there even with these additions we’ve talked about I don’t know how great it’s going to be I mean I think Russ brings some stuff that they need and I think for a minimum it’s it’s like it’s not even a flyer I think you go yeah all right thank you I’ll like this is this is worth it um but there are going to be moments where we go insane man like R you know Russ’s reputation over the final years I think it changes a little bit depending on who you ask but one thing for sure is there have been frustrating moments of sort of him trying to play the way he used to play not quite being the same guy and there are going to be nights man where he doesn’t look great yeah for sure um there are going to be nights I think where maybe we think that that it was a great move but baring fundamental rotation pattern changes I wouldn’t hold my breath for suddenly the bench has turned a corner um I I like the moves to address the bench but I just still think it’s a question mark if Michael Malone doesn’t change all and it’s still hockey rotations four in ones Westbrook makes even makes sense to me though just in that if you’re going to have to have a completely different identity off your bench at least that’s Westbrook he has his own identity I don’t know if the players around him are a good Westbrook team I whatever to me it was more about this one of the storylines that’s emerging is that this Denver Nuggets team feels meaningfully different should all the moves happen that we expect meaningfully different than the previous ones in a in a way like it’d be more distinct and that’s where the Iverson comparison comes in that that Iverson sub era of the Melo era felt like its own distinct part of the broader Melo era Arc so that’s why I think that’s one of the story lines here it’s just different I think Jamal Murray’s season is another major storyline that a lot of fans are probably more skeptical of Murray than they’ve been since he returned from injury and that’ll texture a lot of this upcoming year I think um I’m just reading comment bring up Jazz uh J panel is saying the same narrative last season when CP3 joined the Warriors dude what the Warriors are so far into their decline at that point adding CP3 never made sense yoka just still in his prime man like this is this is adding Chris Paul to the bench of the Warriors when they also added Kevin Durant like they they still have these core pieces we’re talking about like oh if actually could be like that the Warriors won a title lost added to next Thunder player yeah exactly I’m just saying like I think people are um it is there is a lot of like people have forgotten how good but not only that like it’s and how could the bench be player better it’s like if you change two out of five pieces that’s a that’s almost half of the players are new players like new players change the thing like there are five guys if two of the guys are different that’s a totally different thing like if we if we get especially if one of those other guys just racks up triple doubles in international competition I’m just saying man like it’s I it’s not that difficult to meaningfully and radically change a group of five players by changing two players right uh the Murray part of this though is anybody want to come I’m trying to craft narratives I do think Murray is going to be a narrative this year I think A lot’s going to be on him the number one thing that could make everyone feel better is him finally having the regular season we’ve always dreamt of as before the champ before we get to the playoffs whereas really the nuggets and Booth are set up in a place where like the it can’t all come together as a win optically I think with the fan base until the playoffs start and it looks like it’s working but until then another thing I’m not holding my breath for to be honest but if it’s a radically different regular season from Jamal Murray everything will look different uh first of all the Nuggets will still win a ton of games like the the free yic stuff is like no one like no one’s winning more than Denver has won over the last five or six years they just like aren’t and they have a championship on top of it like they win games and they will again this year um I think it’s okay to have some questions about the margins but to the theme here to the to the Core theme of I think some of what we were talking about nothing nothing eases the margin conversations more than just the two best players playing well Than The Ledger yeah the best play yeah you want to just not even be talking about the margins to be honest I know and and and that there’s a yeah Sam Hower was a met Ledger or a margin like there were guys Pritchard that were Mar like the Celtics also don’t have a great bench but you know what their starting five was all absolute Apex top form all play and the Nugget starting five is a little different and even more so now without kcp as much as we loved the way they built it at one point in time it is about their top two now really more than ever I think and if Murray comes out and has it looks a different man and a different player that’ll be the top thing that I think creates a wave of belief and hope and excitement um the last one I have here the player that I think is sneaky an X Factor next year like a major one not even a small one but a major one is Julian St and to me I think it’s a tough and it’s actually the thing I’m most uncomfortable about this next season the Nuggets need shooting I think Julian strw will in a lot of ways have the year that pton he’ll be as much of a story as pton Watson was this year which is to say not the main story main one two or three but certainly one of the big stories of the year it’s going to be is Julian St ready how much opportunity does he get and what does he look like in big moments yeah and I mean right now he’s backup shooting guard he got to play he’s going to have to play they need shooting he’s their fourth guard and they do need shooting you lose kcp probably your second best catch and shoot shooter you need Julian strw to step up and what I think you can be um optimistic about when it comes to strw is Michael Malone loves Julian STW he loves him dude Michael Malone loves Julian strw way more than he L rookies that have come through Denver he called a lot of plays for him last year he let everybody know that he’s always sung his Praises it seemed like ever since Julian strw became a nugget Michael Malone has had an affinity for him and I’ve heard he’s had a good summer I just think like that’s going to continue with momentum heading into next season and the fact that Malone has always been in his Corner that bodess really well especially because he’s entering such a season where like the Nuggets need him to be an X Factor absolutely and that’s the other thing here is that you can kind of if you want to you can kind of look at what these rookies pick it and they won’t be rookies anymore but picket STW Hunter Tyson as additions to the team like you can imagine them being offseason additions last year they were not participants in all last year and they will be this year and you know how good can St be can he be a like like where do we where do we think that a Hower a Hower is he a can he be a buddy healed I don’t know is it is it is that so far out of the realm of possibility that like if you you’ve told me that we got we signed buddy heel this off season that like would you feel be feeling good about it like to me that’s not that unreasonable of a of a place I want to buy in if the phnx Suns guys were talking about a 29% 3point shoot shter as being the guy that unlocks the three-point shooting youd laugh at it and that’s the only reason I think he’s better than that by the way I don’t think but I’m just saying that there is a level of I’m more skeptical of that just cuz I want to see it I just want to see it before I say I have that much Faith like but just again like I just think back to Murray’s rookie season Murray missed like 30 threes in a row it it was disasterous shooting yeah and start slow you just start I’m just saying like yeah you just start slow career like but it’s like it’s there you got to you got to like realize that the free the the front office has great um belief in the in these guys and yeah I don’t think that eases a lot of people right now no I mean know I it eases me because I’m I’m old now and this is why summer light League matters more than I think you
