Giants vs. Braves Game Highlights (7/3/24) | MLB Highlights

you got Chris Sail who should be an All-Star here in a couple of weeks going tonight for the Atlanta break he’s really really good he’s a veteran he’s back to form and the Giants are going to have their hands full we are banking on Chris Sail shoving tonight and being aggressive at the San Francisco Giants hitters they are very patient they don’t swing very often we know he is going to be in the strike zone and cair digs in and off we go first pitch he’s swinging and he hits it a mile into the air out towards Duvall so one pitch one out one down here in the first inning Here Comes Austin Slater A1 from sail and a ground ball weekly out towards short on the other end is Zack short and his throwovers in time and two quick outs for sail for sail being efficient tonight that would be something welcomed by the Braes Man 10 pitch and a Fly ball out towards deep center field over to his right is Kellick in the sunshine makes the catch out there and they go down one two three in the top of the first inning so the first hurdle is cleared on six pitches for Chris Giants starter tonight the righthander Jordan Hicks Jordan’s happy to see the calendar change June was not kind to him but he’s going to make that 18 start he’s been able to go to the Post every time he’s trying to become a little bit more efficient when he’s been great for the Giants he’s been very much in the zone with the slider change up and that fast ball always plays and a first pitch swing ground ball Fair ball behind the back vard kind of a high feed and they just got him man that was way too casual I thought Kellick was safe the Giants got away with one there David vr’s got to make a much better feed than that one down for Azie alz and Azie alz is turning on his sweeper here sending it out to right field for a one out single here’s Marcel Ozuna with the Giants held in check yesterday 0 for four with a couple of strikeouts two two got him the high splitter for strike three called that leaves it up to Matt Olson runner at first two down no score in the bottom of the first inning com set the 02 and Olsen swings and got him with a low slider impressive inning there from Jordan Hicks Chris Sail threw just six pitches there in the first inning out of one two three first inning and facing Chapman Matos and VR Chapman takes the walk so from Chapman now to Luis Matos he got him to swing and Miss there 96 up high first strikeout tonight for Chris Sail so it’s a 5-3 put out two down and down to second base for Matt Chapman Nick got head to the plate and in the onew have a seat he swings misses going after a sharp slider two strikeouts in the inning for SE Austin Riley leading it off with the Braves 32 to bouncer through the right side a base hit that was scaled got a 95 mph Sinker looked like he got it off the end of his Bat and bounced it through the right side so a lead off single by Riley here in the second inning fiveing in Travis starno didn’t see him last night here it comes there it goes in the air deep left center field coming over Elliot Ramos he can’t get there that’s going to lay down for a base hit maybe a little bit of confusion there Braves will take it back to- back singles no score that could change right here as Adam dubal digs in no one out bottom of the second inning that’s fair that’s trouble Braves are going to take the lead here Riley is around third RBI double atam duall one to nothing good contact here in the second inning versus Hicks has gone single single double and now two gone in the inning and a chance to get through this with just the one run coming across he’ll now face Jared helck these kind of spots he feels like the Braves could be scratching a run or two across more where they have not done that this year one two he got him with the high fast ball so the Braves get the one run they wanted more it’s more one more run than Chris got the last time he was on the mound a lot of times one run can be enough for Chris sails sails 3-2 not a thing wrong with that pierce the strike zone with a fast ball and cassali goes down looking third strike out of the ball game for sail o02 pitch on the way blew that byout swinging a with a 95 mph fast ball and Fitzgerald goes down swinging SE looking to strike out the side onew pitch got him looking beautiful pitch through the back door got a slider over and he locked up soir I don’t know what else we can say he keeps doing Chris Sale things two down auna at first and Riley Riley toward the Gap in left Center and it’s going to be caught I think by MOS who hit the ground hard and he hangs on to the ball what a play out of deep left Center Luis Matos Chris Sail has been dominant so far already five strikeouts Elliot robbles draws the walk Giants have a one- out base runner was an aggressive walk bat flip too there which i’ would be very careful doing that to Chris Sail it is subtle but you’re right Chris Sail such a competitor I’m sure he made a mental note of that right yeah and so it’s whether or not he’s just a little bit extra motivated to finish off this hitter swinging a miss change up takes care of Matt Chapman two away two down here in the inning sixth strike out for sail one odontos Fly ball out towards deep Center Jared Kellick goes back now holds he’s under it makes the catch in deep center field Chris Sail allows one base runner that was on a walk but to this point four hitless inning Cale he’s pitching very well Jacks don’t have a hit yet Jordan Hicks is pitching well too got him seven strikeouts as VR goes down on the slider what the Giants need to do here because now almost two full trips through the lineup nothing happening yet to try and generate some offense the one-w pitch swung on and Miss struck him out again strike out number eight for Chris SE two out for Cali the catcher he fanned his first time chant do they do at some point need to get a hit like that I I didn’t know all I had to do was ask got to ask for those things sometimes well now we can say it that’s the first Giant hit there had been a couple of walks but the No No is gone he sends one in the air to right field might be playable for Dall he’s near the line and he’s under it the inning is over one pitch for the third out no runs a hit one left we go to the bottom of the fifth let’s get some more runs one away oh look out that hit Brian Snicker he’s okay but that bounced right into his belly aie wondering like that didn’t hurt at all did I not hit that hard enough to even hurt my manager oh no not on the belly never mind that’s a different kind of belly belt buckle hopefully does a manager wear a cup Runners at first and second a little two out lightning working here all of a sudden and Austin Riley the batter said it a thousand times two out base hits will win you a ton of ball games Riley to right field Slater going back it’s off the wall Ozuna is in Olson’s coming home Atlanta has a three to nothing lead Riley now with 34 RB’s Travis darno has singled in two trips the other way another hit Riley’s being waved to play at the plate safe what a beautiful Slide by Austin Riley and the Giants are going to challenge cassali said he got him on the head oh across the back of his shoulder maybe after review the call is overturned the runner’s out wow he’s out they overturned the call he did get him but the Braves put two more on the board and they did it on four straight hits with two out soir moves to third he’s there with one out for Ramos kind of joked a little bit about the bat flip on the walk in his last plate appearance so we’ll see if Chris Sail has a little extra incentive the payoff yes painted inside corner Ral down looking that was a great tight shot of chis Hil before he threw that pitch little bit of extra anger in his face and in his mouth and he let this one fly and dotted it up at 95 mil an hour Chapman tonight has walked and has struck out Chris S in the moments when he feels like maybe he’s getting near the end that he empties the tank I think he is reaching deep right now trying to finish this sixth inning he’s also trying to hit double digits in the strikeout category he pulls that one down the left field line it is a fair ball right on the line and into the Corner soir will score Chapman into second with a two out double Giants are on the board that’s big hit ball goes to the back stop sometimes you wonder like Chris S he was reaching back in that battle against Chapman yeah he’s empty in the tank I mean the Braves are just now kind of getting something going in the pen trying to keep this a three to one game here come on Chris polish him off reaches for it Riley charges the play six strong for Chris Sail just three hits and one run given up Rell glaus will try to close the deal Braves up three to one and the Giants down to their final out two down two two pitch he struck him out and the Braves win and the Braves even up the series with the Giants with a 3-1 Victory this evening Chris Sail was terrific on the mound he’s now tied for the major league lead and wins with 11

  1. Sono continuamente stupito dalla ricchezza di conoscenze esposte in questo thread. È come avere accesso a un'enciclopedia virtuale.🍓

  2. Notes From The Game:

+ CHRIS SALE CONTINUES TO AMAZE! 6 Innings of 1-Run, 3-Hit Ball, Walking 2 and Striking Out 9 en route to a LEAGUE-TYING 11TH WIN! Sale Improves to 11-3 with an ERA of 2.71! If he can keep his Runs Down, We COULD be talking CY YOUNG CANDIDATE!

+ WELCOME BACK, A.J. MINTER! Coming of the IL, He Proceeds to SILENCE the Giants in the 7th! From there, Jimenez and Iglesias SHUT THINGS DOWN, Combining to Finish the Final 3 Innings, Allowing Just 1 Hit while Striking Out 3! Iglesias gets his 21st Save, Allowing that 1 Hit, But Striking Out Brett Wisely to END THE GAME!

ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 1 Run, 4 Hits, 2 Walks, 12 Strike Outs, NO Home Runs Allowed!

10 Hits… But ONLY 3 Runs, and 8 Men Left on Base? This Offense CONTINUES to FRUSTRATE!

? Adam Duvall had a Jekyll-and-Hyde-Kind of Night… Yes, he went 3-4 with Two Singles, a Double, and an RBI… But what he did in the 6th… NOT Taking Off for Home on what was CLEARLY a Double-Steal Attempt by Forrest Wall, Then Getting Thrown Out by MILES on a Ground Ball STRAIGHT TO THE SHORTSTOP.. He may have added more FUEL to the Dissenters than Water.

+ At the Very Least, Riley is starting to find his Groove. 2-4 with a Single, Double, and an RBI. He WOULD'VE had 2 RBIs and a Run Scored HAD THE GIANTS NOT RESORTED TO PLAYING HEROBALL AND REFBALL ON HIM!

+ OTHER NOTABLES: Travis d'Arnaud had a 2-4 Night, While Albies, Ozuna, and Olson had 1 Hit Each. The ONLY Braves to get a Walk Tonight were Marcell Ozuna and Forrest Wall, Which Leaves Kelenic and Short as the guys with 0'fers, with Short going 0-3, though making contact, and Kelenic going 0-4 with 3 Ks.

    – An UGLY Win for the Braves Tonight. Sale was EXCELLENT, The Bullpen GREAT, and the Defense, SOLID… But this Offense is either CURSED or getting EXTREMELY UNLUCKY. It's Still Stuck in Second Gear, and Either the Shifter is Stuck and Can't Move… Or If we SHEARED off the whole Gear Shaft!

    – Good News: The Mets METTED in Washington. Bad News: Phillies Continues to Win Games, Beating the Cubs at Wrigley. This allows the Braves to get 5 Games Ahead of New York, but keeps them 9 Games Out of Philadelphia.

    TOMORROW:

THE FINAL ROUND of this 3-Game Showdown Between the Giants and Braves will take place on the Evening of the 248TH YEAR OF OUR NATION'S BIRTHDAY at Truist Park!

Logan Webb will answer the Call for the Giants, Who is having an Okay Year so far, though is coming off a Respectable Outing against the Dodgers, where he allowed just 2 Runs on 5 Hits in 7 Innings of Good Work that Unfortunately resulted in a No-Decision.

Meanwhile, it will be up to CHARLIE MORTON to take up Battle Stations for the Braves in a CRITICAL Game of the Season. Morton's Coming off a SOLID outing against Pittsburgh, in which he SILENCED the Pirates over 6 1/3 Innings, Allowing Just 3 Hits and 1 Walk while Striking Out 7, earning the Win in the Process.

Can MORTON and the Braves Claim ANOTHER NEEDED SERIES WIN AT HOME?

Or Will Webb and the Giants Make this July 4th one to forget in the ATL?

We Will find out at 7:20 P.M. EDT / 4:20 P.M. PDT on NBC Sports Bay Area (Giants), Bally Sports South (Braves), and MLB Network (Out-Of-Market ONLY)!

    SoundFX09, Signing Out!
