Matisse just hit rock bottom

Matisse Thybulle just got cut from the Australian Olympic Team, marking a new low for his career. I remember the days in 2019-2020 when I thought he was going to be a building block for the Sixers and consistently on the All-Defensive Team. It’s a bummer that now he’s 27 and just never developed an offensive game.

  1. Sheeesh…

Not being funny when I say he should start thinking about being a full time content creator. His vlogs were very entertaining and he has a contagious personality.

  2. He’s one of my favorite players. I looked him up, he’s getting 22 minutes a game in Portland. Seems like he’s doing ok.

  3. Damn. I’m still a Matisse truther. I feel like he could be 70% of the player Oubre is if he were more confident. Kelly isn’t scared to let that shit fly and is decisive and deadly on his cuts to the rim. Plus he uses his athleticism to get a respectable number of boards. I feel like Matisse could be good at *something* besides defense if he really tried

  4. When he did an interview with JJ stating that he couldn’t make layups even in middle school. Like, could barely do Mikans. That’s when I knew his chances of being a good offensive player were cooked. He never had that. He was a very athletically gifted player with natural defensive instincts. I liked him a lot, but not even being a threat to shoot is such a killer.

  5. Tisse and Kork both not playing for their national team this year seems poetic

  6. Damn, that’s a shame. I hope he goes to Europe to rehabilitate his game. It did wonders for guys like PJ Dozier, Dante Exum and Kendrick Nunn (it helps when you’re coached by two GOATs lmao).

  7. The Aussie team:

    Australia’s final roster

    Dyson Daniels (New Orleans Pelicans)
    Matthew Dellavedova (Melbourne United)
    Dante Exum (Dallas Mavericks)
    Josh Giddey (Chicago Bulls)
    Josh Green (Dallas Mavericks)
    Joe Ingles (Minnesota Timberwolves)
    Nick Kay (Shimane Susanoo Magic)
    Jock Landale (Houston Rockets).
    Will Magnay (Tasmania JackJumpers).
    Jack McVeigh (Tasmania JackJumpers).
    Patty Mills (Miami Heat).
    Duop Reath (Portland Trail Blazers).

So Tisse was left off in favor of 4 players not in the NBA, 35-year old Patty Mills, 36-year old Joe Ingels, and a Portland teammate (Duop Reath) who gets less minutes than he does.

    Yeah, that’s got to sting.

  8. Wait, what? There’s no way I buy that he really couldn’t make it. For all his faults, he’s an elite defender who shot 35.4%3PT over his last two seasons. He’s a great personality to top it off. There must be something deeper to this.
