  1. He’s only making a million this year. He’s balling out and holding this team accountable. I love him.

  2. Profar has cemented himself as a Padres legend. This man will carry us to the promised land and will lead the parade when we get there.

  3. A completely different vibe than last year. Having dude’s who are hungry to win like Profar, Merrill, and Estrada for example is much needed compared to a bunch of guys who’ve already won before during last season

  4. I’m mad the team store isn’t Profar-only jerseys only at this point

  5. Last year was a perfect storm of shit. The team was not prepared for the rule changes, guys played in the WBC and needed time to get in the groove, the roster was top heavy, no one wanted to hold Soto accountable, Melvin didn’t like Preller and let that affect his team, Hader wasn’t playing team ball, injuries, and all time bad luck and lack of situational hitting in the late innings and extra inning games. This year we’ve gone back to the basics of baseball and have players who have totally bought in to winning in San Diego, so much more enjoyable to watch. Profar exemplifies that spirit everyday and it has affected everyone in the clubhouse.

  6. Sign him to a multi-year. He’s earned his Padres place. We can have more than 1 Captain. I’ve always been a Profar truther. So glad he’s back and doing well.

  7. Profar behind the smile seems to be a pretty INTENSE dude. This is what this team needed.

  8. Always said he was what we were missing last season. He’s the one who keeps the clubhouse loose

  9. There is a book called “The Captain Class” by Sam Walker that, while a business book, is written about the greatest sports dynasties in the world- MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, Olympics, international soccer, rugby, volleyball. The one thing they all had in common is a captain that is the absolute leader… the dynasty starts and ends with that one players career… and in every case, it was not the superstar or the highest played player. It is the player that does the dirty work- grinds on defense, assists over goals- holds the team accountable, and leads by example. They showed that coaches and managers don’t make nearly as much of an impact in winning as the captain. Great read.

Profar may be that player for us… hold the boys together. Makes everyone accountable. Keep winning. LFGSD
