know how you like that heat and humidity uh I mean I’m from Georgia you know this this is fine this is like good weather you obviously had had a lot of choices at your disposal you know when when you’re a guy like that and youy what makes you choose Orlando uh I would say you know just by me me watching and timing in from afar um the effort The energy they put into uh playing 48 minutes you know uh know you got stars and Apollo you know Wagner all them boys like guys is coming up uh sugs you know a no car Anthony know a lot of guys like I’m I’m familiar with and just just by watching them play you know and being relentless on both ends you know made my choice pretty much pretty pretty easy uh I just wanted to come in and and fit right into uh this this organization and just do what I do you know shoot the ball and play defense you did say though that like you see yourself fitting in here and you were obviously an integral part to two championship teams over these last couple of Seasons you see that same kind of trajectory with this group and just really the continuity that’s already presented here uh yes yes man for me uh defense win games you know and they also going to win your Championship so the more that we can focus on that end I know everything else is going to fall in place your offensive game going to come know shots to start falling you know the floor of the game seems much better when you you focus on the defensive end and then everything else is just flowing did you sign with this team with the idea that you could win a third Championship hey I’m always chasing the championship you know uh but that was one of my ideas like just you know seeing their progress you know them making to the uh to the playoffs you know taking Cleveland to a game seven uh that was enough for me you know they got a little bit of taste of uh that pressure you know what it what it takes you know to to make it past the first round uh so I’m just excited you know to be a part of it have you been in touch with the guys at all what kind of reaction um not not most of them uh uh through Instagram um they just as just as much as excited as as I am um and we just we just ready to get after it PA specifically what stands out to you about his play from what you’ve seen far um just his his knowledge of the game you know him being patient in certain situation making plays for his teammate get his teammates involved you know uh being so much of a uh a little bit of a leader that I’ve seen from him um and know just being him you know he’s he’s a great kid uh and I’m looking forward to just being being alongside him what do you feel you know you mentioned you know watching the te from before what do you feel that you can add to the help them get beyond the first round after watching get last year um I would say for me I mean just staying locked in you know you can get you can get uh like you can lose focus on on the goal or the task at hand you know being patient uh you know uh and just being that humble leader I would say uh bringing that to the table uh I feel like it’s going to help these guys out a lot you know being that veteran guy with two championships uh and just bringing that mentality over here as well um you come to Orlando with a great reputation for shooting defensive and also a really good locker room guy what do you pride yourself most on uh I would say all of it you know that’s just me being being who I am being humble uh and coming into a new organization you know not trying to be that that type a type of guy coming in and demand things uh for me it’s just if I can if me fitting in and and just having these guys you know uh I would say uh just gravitate to me you know uh and just make it easy for them like for us to get along you know what what is that Jeff rman said that he helpes that you impart some of your Championship mentality on on on the younger guys what is a championship mentality in your in your mind uh just being uh I I would say making sacrifices I would say the the biggest part uh making sacrifices being able to uh you know learn on the goal I would say uh being able to to switch up anything on on the Fly uh and just just being um Relentless and humble I would say you know just everything going it’s going to take sacrifices to make it there yeah oh go ahead do do you know coach mosle at all uh I’ve been KNN in my Rook since my rookie year but uh not as much uh but like we’ spoken here and there uh and just you know I’m excited to be a part of his team you know and being able being coached by him and stuff like that uh but he’s he’s a great coach coach I talked to him um like a week ago maybe um and it’s been good so far Jeff welman mentioned earlier just your defensive tenacity and how much pride you take on that and and jayen Suggs obviously just made an all defensive team this past year do you guys see yourself being the best defensive back for in the NBA I’m going say it right now we might be making it again together next year so uh I I do pride myself on that end I I was promoting myself you know last season to to also make that that that that uh all defensive team but you know congrats to him you know uh and being alongside him I think we are going to be one of the best you know back court defensive team in the league when you look at the advanced metrics you were a guy that you know was guarding the other team’s best player you know you were top five in that he was top five in that what does it take what kind of mindset does it take to have that approach every night um being disciplined uh and I mean not not gambling as much as possible I would say just stand within the game plan that the coach have for you defensively and using your knowledge of your skill what you have like to get around screens and stuff like that um I feel like mostly just staying within the game plan it’ll put you in right position you know to be successful how many teams could you have signed with h i don’t know this is the only one right now we already we going close the deal was it difficult to leave Denver uh no I was I mean it took a while to think about it I would say you know to make my decision on if if I’m going to leave or not you know but uh no sense of me waiting to see uh if they was going to come back with an offer or off offer me anything um but you know my my my first part is my family you know I to make sure I we we good know at at any point and just being able to uh be be a part of this organization you know they they wanted me just as much as I wanted to be on this squad as well so uh and that made it much easier to sign here too this is a fairly fairly young young team you’re joining are you ready to be the vet of the group I’ve been that for a while now uh but yeah I’m I’m ready uh like I said earlier I just want to come over here bring my champ Championship mentality uh the knowledge I know from the teams I’ve been on uh so my leadership you know just being that that that broker leader on the court and off the court and just being able to get these guys you know and get us to stay connected you know the more we can stay connected and have that chemistry together you know it’s going to make the season easier thank you
