New York Rangers Have A HUGE DECISION TO MAKE With Ryan Lindgren!

the New York Rangers front office and Ryan lingren could not come to an agreement this offseason as Ryan is an RFA restricted for agent with arbitration eligibility which he has now filed for after the Rangers and Ryan obviously could not come to an agreement there on a contract it is kind of rumored that he wants a longer term deal which makes sense I mean a lot of players want that kind of contract certainty there but I guess the Rangers maybe not want to go either that long or kind of that long with that certain amount of cap but we don’t know exactly what those numbers are from me that that what they kind of want but we do know that Ryan lingren was qualified because he is an RFA with a $3.6 kind of million doll tag there so minimum contract is going to be $3.6 million per season now that kind of depends there is it going to be like a two threee deal or a you know 6 78e deal Poss you we’ll have to wait and see but either way it’s going to be interesting see kind of what he gets I have kind of Presumed it’s going to be more of like a four-year deal but I could be wrong there maybe he’d ends up getting that longer term deal at a kind of lower cap hit so we’ll have to wait and see what happens there and the arbit ation hearings do begin on July 20th and run till August 4th so sometime around that kind of time period there we will know what his next contract will look like kind of MoneyWise per season as well as what his term will be on that contract as well but remember the minimum he’s going to get because he was qualified with a $3.6 million tag is 3.6 mil per season there so that’s kind of a good Baseline there he’s going to get a little more than that more than Lely but not a whole lot more in my opinion we’ll take a look at my actual contract prediction SL projection there later on in this video as well but carrying on though there are 14 other players in the NHL who have filed for arbitration there so it’s not like he’s the only guy there for example doing so guys like ukup Lucin Martin neaz Jack jury kill marchenko Joe valeno Oliver wal of the Islanders there you got Ty erson a former Ranger on the sharks there so there are quite a few other guys you know 14 total guys in the NHL 13 others and Ryan lingren who have filed for arbitration there so it’s not some you know crazy wild thing that he’s doing here this is fairly kind of you know reasonable for for a guy like this who obviously can’t come to an agreement obviously with Rangers here can’t come to agreement there on the term and the money there so they’re going to go to Arbiter there kind of a middleman to kind of help sort this deal out and it’ll be inter to see kind of what he gets there because it does seem like Ryan linger from the rumors there he wants a long-term contract maybe it is like a you know seven eighty year deal that he wants where the Rangers probably want to do more like a 3 four fiveyear deal if I had to guess I don’t have any concrete info on that but I would kind of guess they want to give him probably more of a kind of midterm deal there as for a kind of long-term one we’re looking at 6 Seven 8 years maybe it’s more like a 3 four five they want to give him so it’ll be interesting to kind of see what he gets but maybe if it is going to be a long-term contract at like seven years maybe the cap is like 500k or so lower than what he would get on a 3 four five year deal think come to agreement on that that could be a pretty Team friendly deal you know down the road there being you know maybe just under 4 mil possibly on a you know six seven eighty year deal possibly I think in two 3 four years that could look like an absolutely phenomenal deal there but me the r just don’t want to go that long term either way we’ll have to wait and see but either way hopefully they can get a good deal on Ryan lincol here cuz he is a very important player to this team and throughout this regular season I think he actually played quite good for the most part I mean obviously not perfect every game but he’s a very solid you know defensive defenseman there plays a great defensive game you know great team player always gives it his all there very you know tough player out there on the ice always blocking shots he’s great at that there’s no all around kind of great defensive defenseman there yes the size is not perfect there at six foot but he’s still a very good team player plays a physical game and I think is definitely a guy you know long term that I would like to keep on this team but obviously not at a massive capit there he’s not some true kind of you know number one or number two defenseman I would say but he’s definitely a good complimentary guy to someone like Adam Fox and yes obviously you know you’d love to have a better defensive defenseman there alongside a guy like Foxy there who’s you know 6’4 or whatever but he’s still a good complimentary guy to someone like Adam Fox there and will probably be able to keep Ryan lren at a fairly reasonable cap I’d imagine so hopefully he gets a fairly reasonable friendly deal which could be good long term for this Rangers team as he is still only 26 years old he does not turn 27 until February so it’s not like he’s you know in his 30s already he’s still fairly young in his kind of mid to late 20s already 26 years old is not too bad there so he does get a longterm deal he’s only going to be in his kind of early to mid-30s there it’s not going to be too big of a deal but obviously I’m sure that’s kind of why the Rangers may not want to go that 67 you know kind of 8year deal possibly to where it is kind of getting ear approaching kind of that mid-30s possibly if it is going to be a short-term or midterm deal that could look very very good for this rers team for a guy who’s definitely a true top four caliber defenseman a very solid guy there and definitely a nice complimentary guy to someone like Adam Fox and I think throughout the playoff run there he played pretty solid I don’t think he played phenomenal but he definitely had some pretty good overall kind of defensive play there and and had some good offensive moments as well you take a look at that kind of game six moment there he played great there ended up getting that you know game winning assist there for the Rangers on that crder goal so he has that kind of odd you know great offensive moment there but for the most part he just a really solid defensive defenseman there may only be six foot but plays quite physical blocks a lot of shots a great team player always gives it his all there kind of that energy ball up there at moments just really kind of tough player out there on the ice although he’s only six foot he plays like he’s a lot bigger than that yes he gets hurt every once in a while you know gets cut quite a bit you know he’s bleeding because he’s blocking shots or you know getting a stick to the face whatever it is but he’s a great team player and just kind of one of those guys you want to have on your team come playoff time and when you get in those dirty battles there he’s always in there he’s battling for the puck and with all that said I am definitely a fan of Ryan lingren I want to see him back on this team I think he can definitely benefit this team a lot from you know coming back for for theable future possibly but it also depends on kind of what that next contract is going to look like you know term-wise but also what is cap is going to be per season that definitely affect his team quite a bit with the cap Tob situation there with the Rangers right now it’s not too bad coming up the next couple years you know trou is going to come off the BCS in a couple years same thing with paner and some other guys as well but we know you know guy like eor sturken he’s going to need new like a brand new massive contract at some point in this off season or next and also a guy like Alexi lafer he’s going to need a big contract next off season more than likely as well a pretty big kind of jump up more than likely so it’ll be interesting kind to see what happens here with Ling’s contract going forward with this team and it is possible that lingren could get traded at some point throughout this offseason but I don’t see that happening I think he’s going to stay on this team sign his new contract and more than likely stick alongside Adam Fox on that top deep pair spot for the Rangers going forward in the next couple years as well I mean obviously foxy is locked in long term L going to get locked in for a while as well and I’m sure that they will stick together for a while now maybe it changes kind of next offseason or or the year after that or the year after that whatever it is but right now this upcoming season as things stand currently I definitely think Ling’s going to be back with this team he’s not going to be traded away he’s going to be alongside Adam Fox on that top deep air spot next season and taking a look at some Advanced stats here from the recular of season with Adam Fox and Ryan linger together at as a d partner they ended up having 91.5 minutes played together over 65 games and they ended up finishing tied for seventh in the entire NHL for goals against per 60 Minutes of De pairs with at least 500 minutes play together so I think they had done a pretty good job there at a 1.71 expected goals against per 60 one of the better overall defense pairs in the entire league defensively they were phenomenal and also offensively they were quite good as well but definitely a bit better defensively which isn’t too surprising a guy linger in there obviously brings a lot defensively not a whole lot offensively where a guy like Foxy can do a bit of both there great offensively great defensively one of the true kind of top defense in the entire league but alongside each other very true top pairing de pair together and one of the better ones in the entire league especially defensively and now for the playoff numbers here of Paris with at least 100 minutes played together throughout these playoffs Ryan lingren and Adam Fox had 29.2 minutes play together over 16 games and ended up finishing first in goals against per 60 minutes with a 1.37 defensively they were Elite one of obviously the best defensive pairs throughout the entire playoff run these numbers pretty much say they were ARG to be the best so that is great to see but offensively having a 1.37 there for goals for pre 60 Minutes is not too great at all so defensively they were phenomenal offensively they were not too great that’s not surprising there because Adam Fox was injured for most of the playoffs there he was definitely banged up was nowhere near 100% there but he still played great in this D pair as a whole was phenomenal defensively definitely were truly Elite but the offensive game there with Adam Fox being you know pretty hurt there definitely was not the best that has been in the past and next up here taking a look at his normal stats this past season ended up having 76 games played three goals 14 assists 17 total points but had 103 block shots and 114 hits there very physical guy blocks a lot of shots eats up a lot of ice time there averaging 19 minutes and 21 seconds per night but obviously is not a great offensive guy as has yet to crack 20 points at the NHL level in a single season and for the playoff numbers there this past playoff run had 16 games played three assists there but one very clutch one as you saw earlier that big assist there to get the game-winning goal in game six against the Carolina Hurricanes in round two there that was a big one there also had 20 block shots and 22 hits affing just over 20 minutes per night as well and finally for my contract prediction SL projection my guess is going to be something than around a 4-year deal with a $4 million cap hit now maybe it is longer term because a guy lingren possibly wants a longer term deal it’s been rumored maybe it is going to be like a six or seven-year deal or possibly a 5year deal but I think it’s going to be something around more than likely a four-year deal with a $4 million capit I’m quite certain it’s going to be around 4 mil capit you know being at least 3.6 million because he was qualified for that so it’s going to be something around probably the high three Mark to the low four Mark something around there but I’m kind of leaning towards the the four M Mark or the kind of high three Mark depending on the years though that will definitely affect things as well but
