Hopefully he is Betts’ replacement because it would be a genuine travesty if he’s not on the all star team

Just remember, Mets fans could have absolutely voted Lindor in but didn’t.
Nimmo and Lindor are two of the most underrated players in the game.

I could be wrong but I get the sense that the decision makers look at his avg and say ick and then look elsewhere
Of course, if the MLB community assessed the Mets correctly then they wouldn’t be able to karma farm LOLMETS stats or credit any successes to the latest meme attached to the team

I would rather my teams players rest during the allstar game and focus on the second half…also more bulletin board material for the clubhouse

Lindor is still not appreciated enough by Mets fans. Guess they’re brainwashed by BT.
We can, and should, be mad about these snubs. But we also need to remember that we routinely snub our own team every year because we don’t vote for them. Lindor should not only be on the team, he should be the starter. But we, as a fan base, do not organize ourselves and vote for our guys. We let Philly fans just dominate the votes this year and Trea Turner is the starter at shortstop. Which is ridiculous. Nimmo should be starting in the outfield, but at least I could see the argument for the other guys, but to be snubbed so that we can get MORE Dodgers and MORE Padres on the team? Teoscar is fine, but skipping Nimmo for him? Bad call. Same with Jackson Merril. Both of those teams have plenty of representation. Bottom line is that we need to vote more. The selection process is ridiculous.
I didn’t see anyone mention it, and there isn’t any way to prove it, BUT Alonso came out the other day when asked about participating in the HR derby. He said “only if he’s elected as an All Star” .. SO basically I genuinely believe that the league said “get him as the mets rep. so we can boost views at the HR derby”. Genuinely. I don’t agree with it at all- as i do LOVE Pete, but he’s clearly not been as valuable as either Lindor or Nimmo. Not trying to be all conspiracy theorist on the league but you can 1000% see them wanting the extra views and wanting to put some one who sparks the derby over guys that won’t, as it’s been a lackluster event in general as years have gone on. Just my opinion but I do believe it to be a strong possibility. Here is hoping that at least one of Lindor/ Nimmo get the call as a replacement. Fans Voting or not voting aside, it really is BS how they choose reserves anyway. Thanks for reading my rant, L(F)GM.

I get wanting to get fans involved but we’re the last people who should decide who gets recognized as the best in the game. Even writers come up with insanely bad takes. If anything players should choose
It’s ridiculous how under appreciated he is even in our fanbase. I hope we win multiple WS with him as our captain.
