  1. I thought this was a really good interview. You get the feeling that they do have handle on everything that concerns the fanbase.

  2. I think the biggest thing left unsaid in this piece is about trust.

One of the big things Sully did, is use an injection of youth when he was promoted back in 2015: Rusty, Kuhnhackl, Sheary, Muzz, etc.

But as I’ve realized later, it was never about youth. It was about Sully trusting these guys who happened to be young. Because he coached them in WBS.

So he can talk all he wants about youth, but he has to actually play them enough so that they get a chance to earn his trust. In years past, young players were often yanked from the lineup at the first mistake.

  3. It’s interesting how it seems everyone who has sat down and had a conversation with Sullivan walks away feeling confident in him. Fenway fell in love with him at first sight, players always liked him, him and Dubas get along fine according to this article, and the interviewer here is gassing him up. Dude is either the real deal or a really good bullshitter.

  4. My disbelief kicked in right around the words: “Sullivan opens up.” Not about this hockey team he doesn’t.

““I think it’s important that we continue to strive for excellence and try to find solutions together.” no, stop opening up so much, it’s kinda gross, isn’t anything private anymore??

The whole article is Sully saying, “this narrative was out there, and it’s not true.” The he’s leaving narrative, the his system hasn’t adapted narrative… he’s so open the way he says those are not true, then provides no detail or information other than denial.

There literally was not one fact in this article. There was not one disclosure by Sully of anything that wasn’t a complete milktoast cliche. Not one word of … opening up.

Jesus, if this is what humans give us, maybe it’s time to replace more of them with AI.
