  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

The bats came out HOT and led by a casual 3/3 (with 3 walks and 2 stolen bases) day from the 🐐. The offense gets 9 runs off of 14 hits, 8 walks, and 3 stolen bases, with every starter getting on base and all but ⛄️ getting a hit (even Hedges!). 😇 goes deep for the first time in his MLB career, and 💨 goes 3/4 with two walks and a home run of his own. Gimmy and José each slap a double, and Kwan got three hits like normal.

🐉 at the end of the road indeed. The bullpen crew tonight ends up being Sandlin(0.2IP, 1R), K’d Smith(1IP), Gaddis(1IP), Barlow(1IP), and Clase(1IP) who overall combine for 4.2IP, 4H, 2R(1ER), 1BB, and 3K. A solo home run off of the sandman, but other than the ghost runner, business as usual (there was no clenching at all, not whatsoever).

Ben Lively managed to make Naylor say he was crazy, so you know the dude is fun. Lively goes 5.1IP, 7H, 6R, 1BB, and 4K on 80 pitches. Some multi run long balls got the better of Lively tonight… of course it was fuckin Gio…

Akron tonight has 19 runs and 26 hits. I cannot describe my joy. Every single batter has at least one hit, and PH sub Connor Kokx even got two. CJ Kayfus continues being a monster with two home runs tonight along with 5 RBI and a walk. Petey Halpin and Alexfri Planez each hit a home run themselves, with Planez overall going 4/6 with a double as well, and Joe Lampe and Kody Huff each go 4/6 with 2 RBI. If you want to feel pure joy, go look at the box score.

  2. Place: 1st

    Division lead: 5.5

    Games to play: 72

    Division magic number: 67

    Playoffs magic number: 63

First round bye magic number: 63*

    Current pace: 103-59

*This number assumes a division win. The bye magic number is the division magic number otherwise.

  3. This game wasn’t pretty but it goes in the win column. A few minor heart murmurs never hurt anyone, right? I’m fine.

  4. Urshela has to be batting like .900 career against us, but still Guards > Tigers

  5. Not the most amazing win, but I think it helps that they showed resiliency and mustered a hard fought win. Back to 1st in the AL

  6. r/clevelandguardians users assured me during the 6th inning that this performance was “embarrassing”? Why am I seeing another win in the win column???

  7. They don’t ask how…

They ask how many, and we had more runs than Detroit

  8. I have little emotion, but I would have had a lot of emotion if we lost that one.

  9. Exhale. Record sees only the W but lets not do that again

Thank you Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor. Thank you bullpen (besides Sandlin for right now)

  10. Put all the bullshit aside and relish in the W. Let’s do it again tomorrow, without all the pomp and circumstance preferably

  11. Man this game looked like a rout and then we just collapsed. I’m glad we eeked out a win though.

Damn cowardice Tigers intentionally walking Jose 3 times to face Naylor. I can understand maybe in the 9th or whatever, but 3 times… such cowardice moves, but this is the same manager who cheated to win a World Series, cowardice is his way.

  12. I am in Detroit for the series with a friend. I declared that we needed to leave in the 8th inning and go to the bar in our hotel. I like to think we contributed to the win.

  13. Love the confidence and poise from Angel in that post game interview, not to mention his play on the field.

  14. So Rocchio drove in the game winning run and the Guardians win by one.

Guy came through. The haters quiet.
