Rich Eisen’s Power Rankings: Top 10 NFL Running Backs | The Rich Eisen Show

listen ESPN asked us for the Justin Jefferson video right they did and we approved so uh they have no idea I’m about to take something from [Laughter] them they apparently asked a bunch of Scouts and GMS or front office time Jeremy Fowler does this every year right where he gets uh the top 10 for all the positions yeah yeah uh the top 10 running backs and it’s a Wednesday which means it’s a power rankings day here so here’s my power rankings of the top running backs in the National Football [Applause] Le this is power rankings are many like it but this one is mine Power Rankings and we’re a running back friendly show so you know how much this hurts that I got to give you 10 and I’ve got to order them okay um and the way I’m going about it is not just recent past performance but how I think they’re going to perform this year and the question marks I have about what they’re going to do this year and also how I’m going to uh project what they’re doing this year and this a big wind up I know I’m partial to guys who can maybe go 100 100 on You Catches catching 100 yards receiving and running okay uh and that’s why Travis atn’s on this list he’s 10 I’m going with the Jacksonville Jaguars running back right here I thought he had a really outstanding season last year he is also a guy that I think if you can snag him in your second round of your fantasy draft you’ll be very happy um I dig him 100 out of the backfield running it 100 catching it from Trevor Lawrence this guy can do it all I like him big fan might be a little low 10 got it number nine I’m partial to him we’ve been partial to him ever since he started doing what he was doing for the Green Bay Packers everybody’s sleeping on him because he’s on the Vikings right now and the Packers let him go so I like Aaron Jones this guy’s like a wheel route stallion 100 100 100 in the air 100 on the ground can’t wait to see what he’s going to do for the Vikings this year can he stay healthy that’s the issue you could say that about every single one of these running backs number eight on the list speaking of that he’s coming back I’ve got him deep down here because I just have no idea how he’s going to look to start but I’m putting Nick chub here at8 um even though he’s not really much of a threat C uh receiving boy is he a threat running and um he’s on a team that loves to run it so let’s see what he looks like coming back and I hope it looks exactly like he did before that awful injury took place against the Steelers number seven on this list um I’m assuming he’s not going to get it vultured this year I’m assuming they’re going to give him the ball I’m giving this Bon Robinson guy a shot here at seven and I know that’s really low that’s really low but dude I mean I need how dare I say I need to see it oh there okay all right I’m booing this pick okay boo it boo it boo it all you want I’m assuming is he going to be featured are we going to feature him we’re going to you’re not in your head we’re going to feature him 2,000 total yards okay number six I’m putting sequan here um saquan Barkley this might be a little bit low as well but you’ll you’ll see where I’m going on this list uh I think he’ll have a huge year if he stays healthy that’s my that’s the only real reason why he’s six I just hope he avoids the injury bug in Philadelphia cuz it bit him way too damn much in in New York and New Jersey he’s set up to dominate number five is Jonathan Taylor I can’t wait to see what he does from jump and also we’re the guy who can run it at the mesh Point don’t forget Jonathan T I don’t think Jonathan Taylor took a single snap with Anthony Richardson last year not one I think he was out I mean take a look at that great question uh I I he he was still rehabbing from whatever the hell was going on with him when Anthony Richardson was already gone by the time he got back so I can’t wait to see what he looks like at five number four I’m still going with this guy I’m still rider rider dying with him even though he’s not much of a threat catching it but he can be Derk Henry let’s not sleep on him I think this guy’s a Hall of Famer okay I think this guy’s going to have a bust and and and the bust should have a b he should be the first guy in the Hall of Fame with a torso to the bus okay like that’s how high on Derrick Henry I am and with the Ravens I can’t I what a match what a match made in heaven number three on this list is Bree Hall of the New York Jets you take a look at what an absolute fire of the dumpster last year was and he still put up numbers by the way too low at three maybe maybe so but here’s how I’m going I am so high on this guy I’m like Lenny in Panama City jir Gibbs guys jir fraking Gibbs for the Lions we saw it he was getting stronger last year you know and I know he’s the the lightning in this thunder and lightning equation there with Montgomery but I just think he’s going to be too good to not give a gajillion touches to and I think that last year was just the surface scratch how about that agree and then number one we all know is Christian mcaffrey so I mean what else you want to say about him yeah nothing and if he doesn’t do well this year I who’s who’s the first dumbass in our business to be well he got married oh yeah can we do it just for fun no lovely couple where are they registered I probably don’t even want to know that’s kind of like one of your things was get married get married I should have stayed single uh no kid so that’s my power rankings I left Josh Jacobs off and I apologized to him and Rashad W he was on our program yesterday and so on and so forth that’s a solid 10 RI Christopher all right don’t love the chub pick don’t love the Aaron Jones pick why you mean on the list at all on the list at all how do you not have Nick chub in a top 10 list in running backs in the National Football League ESPN’s got him 35 right now because of his knee yeah I just don’t know when he’s massive question mark don’t know if he’s coming back don’t know if he’s ever going to be the same sadly love the I still Nick chub though I’m sorry I got to put him on there pre-injury Nick chub I’m sorry he’s in the building I still have to I still I still can’t uh I still have to I’m actually shocked this guy not on the list was our guest a couple weeks ago uh Kieran Williams he is a parental top six seven guy on all all the lists right now uh I know he’s going to you got play corm there but I think Kieran Williams is going to you know be be brother no Isaiah Pacho talk about a versatile Play Take what Aaron Jones is a is a two-way threat uh come on disagree disagree Aaron Jones is is near the end near the end the reason why Green Bay got rid of him okay he’s he’s in the he’s he’s high team 20s on a lot list time he came here when he was like a pup I think a big time Omission Big Time Omission Joe Joe Mixon got to have Joe Mixon on the list especially with how awesome this Houston offense is going to be what we think okay I’m tripping I was writing down who’s number three for you Bree Hall that was what okay I mean you you can’t deny he’s a top five running back no no no CMC Brea Bon JT saquan love it love it love Jamir Gibbs would have liked to have seen maybe James Cook and Rashad white catch the rich eyes and show every single day on the Roku Channel 12 to 3 Eastern for free

  1. And if you just feel like forgetting the monster of Raheem Mostert…..how about his #2 Achane? If you have been paying attention, they have him running routes now as well. But, keep homering with the ghost seeing, butt fumble squad.

  2. – One RB who isn’t on the list, is the only RB in the league to have 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last 3 seasons. [most people neglect him tho]

    – Another RB had 1100+ rushing yards in 12 games and didn’t make it. [the only pass I’ll give for him is that he does need to prove it again to solidify himself. But hot damn last year was impressive]

  3. love the character development for Rich; used to not like power rankings, and now has a day every week dedicated to making his own lists lol

  4. Mostert had a 1k season, league leading 18 TDs, and was tied with McCaffery with 21 total TDs. The fact that he didn't even get an honorable mention is pretty much peak disrespect.

  5. I can’t believe you don’t have the Packers new running back , but you might be right. The quarterback might be more than 50%. It would be nice if they were 50-50 but Jordan might break out a little this year.
