Miami Heat Offseason Plans REVEALED By Heat Insider! Heat Rumors

[Music] did the Miami Heats offseason plans just get revealed by Barry Jackson of the Miami heral that’s what we’re talking about on today’s show it’s been a quiet off season thus far for the heat just making their two draft picks signing some udfas mostly bringing back their own guys and then one outside edition of Alec Burks on the vet Min but Barry Jackson might have revealed what’s the plan for Riley and Company the rest of the way before we get into that though I want to show some love to the first commenter Club these were the first five comments I saw Come Through the Wire yesterday on our Jimmy Butler video and I want to show them some love the proof bedw Wars 6599 um deari scrip Jrock Melvin and muhamadu appreciate the five of them and if you want to get shouted out on a future show make sure you have your notifications turned on and click not just personalized but all of them so you get the notification whenever we drop a video or go live I really suggest it all right let’s get into the plans now and what they could have been as it’s been quiet for the Heat this off season duly noted but here is what Barry Jackson had to say he said the plan is now for patience and prudence to wait for an opportunity to pounce when a player that he really likes becomes available in the trade market with the hope that the team likes Miami’s assets the heat does not look at this is a situation where it absolutely must change its roster by the start of the Season while the heat would like to upgrade the heat sees that opportunity being available all the way up until the February 6th trade deadline that’s how it’s being viewed internally so no different plans like this feels like the plan every single off season right like they he have a list of like four or five guys that they’re hopeful comes available in the trade market and they try to trade but they never actually get it done because of uh either stubbornness from one of the GMS or they just don’t have enough assets it feels like this is the same plan as always which is just going to ultimately lead to the heat running it back another season but I did have two main takeaways from that little excerpt from Barry Jackson that I wanted to share outside of the just this normal stuff number one I wanted to talk about who could potentially come available in the next six months leading up to that February 6 trade deadline as the Heat have mentioned or he mentioned the Heat have been looking at that and number two he talked about the Heat’s assets being good enough I think they do have good assets and I actually want to talk about them more in depth but let’s first talk about potentially players coming available and these six initially came to mind Trey young and Lori Market in Lor’s obviously semi available now Trey young who knows if he’s actually available via trade I am not sure if he is as they trade the jonte Murray and they might want to stick it with Trey young this season a couple of intriguing names here I want to mention Kawhi Leonard Kevin Durant KD seems happy in Phoenix maybe that is the case but if the Suns really struggle in the first half of the Season maybe KD request a trade or maybe Durant is a trade option for next off season but unlikely in this off season Kawhi Leonard’s another interesting name because Clippers lost Paul George the Clippers also don’t have that good of a roster outside of kawhai if they are really struggling and James Harden takes a step back maybe Kawhi could be dealt at the deadline and could be an addition to Miami brand Ingram we’ve talked about quite a bit and Cary towns is someone I also want to mention because the Timberwolves need to shed some salary and uh cat might have to be the casualty because Rudy goar they already sunk a lot of assets into him but if you’re thinking about who Miami could go actually after I think the best course of action is Lori marketing I believe going all in on a Lori market and trade right now is the best plan for the Miami Heat and it’s where they should go with the rest of the off season I don’t know if they have enough to get it done which we’ll talk about in just a second because of what Danny Angel’s philosophies are but there is no doubt in my personal mind in my opinion that it should be what Miami does they need to Target Lori Markin let me know your plan a though what is your number one option for the Miami Heat the rest of the way it could just be to stay Pat and run it back it could be to go out and trade for someone could be out and trade someone away from the team let me know your plan a I still think it is Lori marinin because of how much he’s been able to grow as a member of the Utah Jazz after a uneven start in Chicago and then in Cleveland um he got dealt in that down of Mitchell trade and was the headlining Young Piece going back to Utah and he has done nothing but flourish as a member of the Jazz and included him going to the all-star game he averaged 25 points 23 points and he is just as dynamic as it comes offensively for a big man considering he’s 7 feet tall but can score at all three levels mid-range inside three-point land as well and you see the numbers on screen he is an excellent three-point shooter but he can also be an efficient scorer wherever shooting 50% and 48% in back-to-back seasons and to me if you were to get Lori Markin in in Miami you would create the best front Court in the NBA and there’s no questions about it if you ask me a Dam Center Lori Market in four combination is terrific and I know some people will say well they could even go bigger Lori has experience playing the three in the past I think he’s better suited as the four and if you have Lori then I’m fine keeping bam at the five because Lor’s 7 feet tall and sure maybe he can’t lock down centers like bam can but he gives you positional versatility on the defensive side of the floor as well as offensive due to his size and his ability to rebound and defend some guys in the posted area he played five for Utah in some specific lineups when Walker Kessler was injured or not in for Utah a season ago so Lori is capable playing Five he’s play capable of playing four bam is obviously capable of doing either one alongside Lori as well and I want to point this out last night Team USA took on Team Canada and most of the time actually pretty much 85 90% of the time bam was on the court he played about 19 20 minutes I would say 18 or 17 of those minutes that bam was on the floor he was sharing it with bam or Anthony Davis excuse me which means bam was playing with if you want to call AD a five you want to call him a four whatever you want to call him he was sharing the court with another big man yesterday for Team USA and sure bam didn’t have the most offensive game he had six points um went two of six from the line which like what are we doing bam that’s a different story for a different day but he was very good defensively and his ability to just wreck Team Canada with his defense was so apparent and giving bam another guy in the front Court alongside him allows bam to just take his defensive level to another step and it’s just incredible to watch and if he’s able to improve his offensive game and spacing well then we’re even talking another level for adabo so getting another front Court piece that is competent and an All-Star caliber player next to Bam could be really really beneficial for Miami more to talk on this conversation but make sure you are subscribe because we have daily coverage of the Miami Heat make sure you subscribe because we’re going to drop a video every single day Nick Roff here make sure you subscribed all right let’s talk about the second takeaway I had now and that is Miami Heat trade assets because when you specifically talk about Lori marketing I think the Heat have a very good trade package to get Lori but it might not be good enough I actually think they have a good enough trade package to get any star in the NBA um but it just depends on what that team trading the starway is going to look for you think of what the heat actually have as their trade assets it’s very good right you have Terry Rosier you have Tyler herro Hae hakz Jr Nico yic two tradable first round picks two second round picks I put in asri next to the first round picks because right now they technically only have one first round pick available to trade but you could easily create another first round pick available in trade two if you relieve the protection on one of your two first round picks that you already have traded out so the heat if you didn’t know this have the 2025 first round pick traded to Oklahoma City Thunder but it is top 14 protected so if the heat were in the lottery they would have their first round pick same thing with the sh Hornets pick in 27 that is top 10 protected um so if the heat could take the protections and make that unprotected in 27 well then they would be able to trade 29 and 31 and have two tradable first round picks you also have two second round picks but those are really just throwin there so the reason why I wanted to talk about that though and I mentioned this a second ago your best package can fetch your star but if you’re talking specifically Lor marinin it might not work in Utah because Danny a is a fiend for draft picks and the Heat have as good as a package as you could talk about in terms of their young guys like a three-headed package of hakz yic and hero vo in any team p is a really good young player package but if a team only wants first round picks that’s where Miami’s limited with only one tradable first round pick right now it could become up to two if they relieve one of the protections on a draft pick so Miami has good things to offer but Danny a might just want draft picks because he just wants to upgrade through the draft and especially in 2025 with Cooper flag coming through the pipeline he might really have his eyes set on the main ticket is what they’re calling him now who is heading Duke all right scale the Heats trade assets for me one to 10 we just went through the top players they could trade and the draft picks scale one to 10 on the Heat’s assets I’m probably giving it like honestly an 81 maybe that’s high maybe that’s bias but I think Miami has really good assets to deal out before we finish the conversation in today’s show get a Heat hat this thing is so sweet man you get the normal logo on the front the MH on the side little two-tone with the red into the cream color which is just my favorite color to wear whether be a hat or a shirt big fan of this hat get yours today they’re on sale at chatsports.com Heat hat that link is in the description and comments of today’s show one more thing that I wanted to go back to with the Barry Jackson quote he mentioned that they view this as something they could take all the way up to the trade deadline that’s six months away on February 6th I’m generally curious to see who could shake free at the trade deadline to make Miami make a Monumental shake up to that Point like who is going to become available from now and then we showed you a list of six but like is there anyone else like I’m not really sure there is and another point to make there with the heat wanting to upgrade their roster potentially going up all the way to the trade deadline like there is a realistic situation and pathway where Miami ends up being the team that sells at the deadline because they’re underachieving they’re hurt and Jimmy Butler who could be an unrestricted free agent Miami just wants to cut bait and get ass at back from him at the deadline that’s a realistic situation for the heat but if I had to predict that the heat probably won’t make a move because well this last trade deadline when they traded for Terry Rosier a couple weeks prior it was the first time they made a trade at the deadline since what was it 201920 when they traded for Jay Crowder and Andre Iguodala at the deadline and well that moved mountains at the time and helped the heat get to the finals but not any Monumental crazy Blockbuster additions to the roster all right that’s going to do it for today’s show if you want to continue the conversation surrounding the Miami Heat my Twitter is the best place to do it nickwolf is the handle we’re talking Heat basketball every single day as always we’ll see you with the video tomorrow go Heat [Music]

The Miami Heat have not made a lot of moves this NBA Offseason. Through two weeks of NBA Free Agency, the Heat have: extended Bam Adebayo, re-signed Kevin Love, re-signed Thomas Bryant, re-signed Haywood Highsmith, and signed Alec Burks! This has left Heat fans wondering if Pat Riley has a plan to upgrade the Miami Heat roster. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson released an article sharing what the Heat’s plan may be for the rest of the NBA Offseason. Nic Rohloff reacts to the report from Barry Jackson and if the Heat’s plan is a good one!

Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson on the Miami Heat:
“The plan now is for patience and prudence, to wait for an opportunity to pounce when a player the Heat really likes becomes available in the trade market, with the hope that the other team likes Miami’s assets. The Heat does not look at this as a situation where it absolutely must change its roster by the start of the season. While the Heat would like to upgrade, the Heat sees that opportunity being available all the way up until the Feb. 6 trade deadline. That’s how it’s being viewed internally.”

  1. Miami with bam at the 4 only have weakness at the 1 & 2. The drafted ware and they need to improve at the guard spot. We don’t need a big anymore we need a scoring guard.

  2. I’ll tell ya what, that Cooper Flagg is totally worth tanking for. My God.

I’m sick of this line of thinking. Half these guys you HAVE to Jimmy for because they’re on second apron teams, like KD and KAT, and I don’t consider them than Jimmy. Kawhi is, but he’s always hurt.

Lauri is not worth trading Jovic for, and I hope we do go into the season before any trades so that he can prove it.

All we gotta do is get Ware ready to start. If we trade it should be Tyler for an expiring contract, ranging from a good player like Bruce Brown to garbage that will simply get the money off the books. I think the buy out market will be particularly good this year with the CBA crushing everyone.

If not, get the most you can out of a Jimmy trade and tank for a lottery pick.

  3. They should stay like why trade everything for a lateral move you fans blow me next season deaaron fox will available we have so much depth If players actually play why trade that for a player who barely a all star

  4. Yall just bored. We don't NEED to make a move. I like the idea of Markkanen, but our roster is still Great and will be contending. Also I hope we give Man Man some real minutes this year. Keshod Johnson is also someone who could be a difference maker and a longtime Heat player.

  5. I want Trae young who cares if he doesn’t fit the whole world’s culture is changing it’s ok to have a strictly offensive star now

  6. Rebuild should be the heats plan A. They’re always lazy in free agency and then have to hurry to get something together mid season and it blows up in our face. Kinda like the oladipo mid season trade and the rozier trade. The heat end up getting the runt of the litter because all the great options are off the table. Trade jimmy for younger players and assets
