Game Highlights: Vierling and Ibáñez Homer, Colt Keith Stays Hot | 7/10/24

yeah ree Olsson uh he picked up his third win of the season last Friday in Cincinnati and he’s pitching some of his best baseball over his last four starts in the air right field side wiel Perez makes the catch and there is out number one two- strike pitch lifted to left center field and ail Badu hatless and undaunted for oute number two two down nobody on no score Josie awaits the payoff pitch here it comes and he sends a line drive into right field another base hit hosy in his career against Detroit batting 303 29 homers and 114 rbi’s Runner goes pitch swung on a Miss to strikeout ends the inning Cleveland does not score with Detroit coming to B and of course Cleveland really needs some length from Tanner BBY both ball clubs need length from their starter tonight Perez guides it on the ground that’s a fair baseball off the sidewall for wiel Perez and he’s shoots towards second base with a sliding double to start the ball game that’ll bring up Colt Keith who’s about as hot as anybody that Detroit has now he rips this ball left center field man oh man as he’s swinging a hot bat Colt Keith up the alleyway and it is a waltz in triple one- nothing tigers that young man is scorching the baseball here’s man verling the right-handed hitting third baseman infield partway in in the air right field side schneeman scrambles back makes the catch here’s the tag from Keith and he’s on his way home for run number two for the Tigers beerling gets his 36 RBI on the sack fly to right two types of fast balls he Olsson uses both now the payoff swung on banged up the middle right off the glove it looked like of Olsen to the second baseman and Keith throws out fry ree Olson’s pitch swung on hit high in the air to straightway Center Riley Green Camp under it two up and two down the onew and strike three called he took a change up and schne out looking the year ago the opposition batted 243 off Tanner B’s fast this year they’re hitting 327 the next delivery a swinging a Miss now there’s an example of a perfectly placed fast ball Third Base side it through base hit Jake Rogers Malloy around second on his way to third Quan’s throw com into second and it’s not nearly in time for a hustling Jake Rogers second and third two out here it comes a swing and a broken bat fly to left camped under it is Steven Quan and Tanner BBY gets out of it one pitch one out here’s catcher Baylor two nothing Detroit has the lead into the wi the pitch Baylor drills a base H to right so Baylor hitting 2011 as Cleveland’s second hit second time through the order now here’s Steven one the two two swung and ripped to right that’s a base hit down the right field line rolling toward the corner hitting third is Baylor he’ll stop there and Steven Quan with a double down the right field line his 14 the Guardians have Runners at second and third with anill martinez anill Martinez swings drives this pitch deep right center field long run for the Tigers it bounces over the wall a ground rule double and it’s a two- two ball game and Ramirez swings and grounds one to First Olsen gets Jose Ramirez to ground out now the 01 nailer Taps one right out of front of the plate on the grass picked up by the catcher bare hand grab and throw by Rogers to get nailer change up low and away and Colt Keith draws a walk and this is how you start to draw more walks here’s a guy that got a sack fly his first time up Matt verling the third baseman two and two breaking ball ball drilled left field Quan back track we’ll see you later do not hang a breaking ball to Matt beerley it is 4-2 now the two- two swing and a jam job popped up foul third Bayside on the run as the catcher bow nailer cut in front of the pitcher Tanner byby to squeeze it schneeman struck out his first time up hitless in seven trips in the series so far swung on and there’s a highfly ball hit to deep left Center this one’s way back there and it is actually it is a home run and Daniel schneeman has gone deep for the fourth time this season and the Guardians pulled it within one well we head to the bottom half of the fourth inning here in Detroit and Justin Henry Malloy the DH will lead things off for the Tigers that hit the plate umpire Jansen Visconti and it got him pretty good oh that hand in front yeah yeah but it looked like his his fingers froze up too just like stunned him and he is in real pain back there I think they’re going to go three yep right yep and he’s got to get some x-rays on that right away and they’re going to go and throw the equipment on David aretta is one of the newest umpires in Major League Baseball and he is going to be the new plate umpire just under 10 minutes of the delay as Justin Henry Malloy is back in the box and a ground ball to Short Stop it’s roio on the throw and the call made by James Foy at first here’s the one-w swing and a miss by Badu so he’s down on strikes here comes the one-w pitch breaking ball called strike three on the inside corner Rogers caught looking side retired wiel Perez will lead things off for Detroit switch hitter left side facing Tanner byby Guardians Trail by a run here comes B’s payoff pitch waved at and Miss strike three got him to chase the curve and there’s the fifth strike out for Tanner BBY the pitch from BBY in tighten it hit him got him on the arm and beerling will take first base here it comes swung on and lined right center field that gets down for a base hit cut off in the Gap by Martinez speeding to third being waved around is beerling here comes the relay the throw the slide he’s out of there Brian roio this time with the relay throw and the short stop one hopped it in there to nailor who F the tag and Keith will throw out Ramirez that’ll bring up Josh Naylor as struck out has grounded out now the one-1 swung and bounced in the hole in the right base hit so nailor has collected Cleveland sixth hit yeah that pitch count getting up there for Rees Olen Chopper a short stop it’s mckinstry it’s Keith and it is the end of the inning that’s just what they wanted two Hopper right to Zack mckinstry on that two seam Sinker just what they wanted six Innings at a resource and it’s high ball four byby th had a strike out Ella of the third walk in the game it’ll bring up Zack mckinstry and it’s hit a ton straight up in the air to deep right schneeman is on the warning track backpedaling jumps in front of the wall grabs it taging going to second or shella to throw the tag he’s out at second and it’s the second inning in a row Cleveland has thrown a runner out ell tried to tag and go to second second on a fly out and a one hop throw by schneeman and it’s a double play and he cuts and misses iy like Reese Olen 95 pitches through six Innings Tanner BBY will start the seventh for Cleveland 4 to3 Detroit swing in a Miss strike him out with a wicked curveball iby has strike out seven and boy this is so huge that he’s at least getting you partway through the seventh if not all the way swing and a Fly ball to left not deep coming in his Quan to grab it to down well Tanner BBY did a heck of a job he goes six and 2/3 Innings he makes 104 pitches he wants to stay out there Tanner BBY may be talking his way into staying how about that when the manager comes out 99.9% of the time you’re done but Tanner byby pled his case swing and a miss Tanner byby that’ll get him some points for the next argument with his manager right-hander facing on Hill Martinez batting left-handed one out eighth inning four to3 tigers that’s L to center field and a diving play by Riley green head first for oute number two what a catch one and two on Ramirez on the ground to First Ella break dancing for out number three oh we came into the inning talking about the defense and it has gotten better all right Sam henches is into pitch and AJ Hench seeing an opport opportunity for Andy Ian Ian left field side Juan is back at the track and the wall see you that’s why he pinch H and it’s 5 to three Ian was put on this Earth to beat left-handed pitching lash foul right side big celebration to get your foul ball late in the game that’s why you stick around for the end of the game among other reasons well two of them wait wait wait wait save some for everybody else and Alex Voo stays in the game trying to get his first ever professional save oh oh my goodness that’s aretta the plate umpire who came in for the injured Jansen Visconti who got hit on the hand oh my word but that got him flush right in The Mask oh inside he walked him that’s a critical walk to start the inning as Naylor heads to First and he missed outside he threw him a 3-2 slider backto back walks to start the ending in the dirt to the back stop and now a base hit would tie the game the wild pitch puts Naylor at third Arius at second now let’s see if heenez cuts down the swing a little bit with two strikes swung on hit in the air to medium deep right Perez now drifting back makes the catch tagging and scoring is nailor tagging going to third is arus great at bat for Andre simz Cleveland now trailing at five to four with the tying run at third one out in the ninth and now the closer coming on swing and a ground ball to First coming home with the throw Ella a run down now as arus between home and third in that rund down he stays in it a long time and now the throw comes to the plate and he is tagged out with the intentional walk you have put the potential goahead run at first and Austin Hedges is the Last Hope first pitch fast ball off the glove of Jake Rogers it trickles off to his left and both base runners Advance on the ground up the middle ja bayz tag Tigers win arella puts it down and the Tigers somehow someway hang on 5 to four

  1. A win is a win, however the baserunning is ridiculous. Joey Cora has to be the worse 3rd base coach in baseball, at what point are we going to question these managerial decisions?

  2. Badoo "hatless" AND HITLESS!!! Get him out of the lineup or send him down he is playing aweful needs a change or break or whatever! And what about that ninth?? Bananas!
