here hi without Donuts whoops it’s too late for donuts apparently too late for donuts can you want to run this concept by our audience and maybe that’s the poll we put up today on uh YouTube is it ever too late for donuts look I no or no but this button I understand the concept that it is never too late for donuts however it is too late for me to think about you guys when we start the show at 2:30 to think I’m going to come to work at well [ __ ] at 1:15 thanks I doubt for that uh but uh I don’t think about getting donuts when I’m like if I if I worked at like 9ine in the morning yes I would want to bring you Donuts well from now on what about J and I makes you not think about Donuts I could 24 hours a day I think about Donuts true and I I mean I love donuts m i mean Jay has a podcast dedicated to food yeah I get it all right well this from the gu is a donut this from the guy who says hey uh Jay you coming in to work today yes I plan on it can you stop at elal Lagro and bring in tacos for everybody well no no no no no for me just for me not for them uh but that was and again it’s lunchtime tacos for lunch that makes sense sure well it’s also never a bad time for tacos here here’s my question what why is the concept of time dependent on what foods you eat cuz you can eat cereal at 24 247 I have breakfast for dinner all best am weird I am weird about breakfast for dinner I usually am not a fan of my wife and child 247 well bacon of course yeah obviously eggs bacon and french toast for dinner hell yeah amazing all the yeah I mean it’s I I think we should we should you know topple the patriarchy of uh breakfast lunch and and dinner okay being you know separate menus stop being such a timest yeah don’t get me wrong I am all about eating Donuts at whatever hour my email address back in the day was I like donuts at yahoo.com like not there was no numbers involved I was the first person who thought of that well that’s cool change it to I like bringing co-workers Donuts at all times of the day at hotmail.com okay yeah there’s your new email coworkers 247 iov donuts. net all right well if you think that donuts can be consumed 247 go ahead and smash that like button for us if you agree with law that Donuts are reserved for only the mornings also smash the like button don’t worry we have a way to sort out which likes are which yeah uh just make sure you hit it to share your opinion and subscribe too while you’re at it that will give you a double vote that’s how that works and if you’re listening on the podcast app don’t worry you’re you’re covered too follow subscribe that counts as a vote and then leave us to five star review that’s 20 votes on Apple podcast or Spotify so if you really want to get your message across that’s the best deal that’s right you’ve got to leave a festar review on Apple podcast or send you a donut if you leave a festar review that’s Greg boon we’ll send you a conditions do apply problem is La Lawrence is going to get him at 2 in the afternoon so you may not get one yeah all right yeah you’re getting really you’re just getting pounded here man yeah yeah well I get look I get it the idea of bringing food for co-workers is daunting well just the thought of bringing tacos for everybody for Mel Malaga was like ah then I got to see who wants what and it’s a whole thing well I mean I’ll say this two tacos uh carneada uh no tomatoes if that’s an option but I don’t even think they tomato no they do like a SLO they’re really and the beans it’s awesome yeah yeah you you got some weird food stuff for uh foodie I’m actually a terrible Italian I don’t like uncooked tomatoes and I don’t like raw onions yeah or Banas very well bananas could go [ __ ] themselves but whatever that’s we can move on all right Italian restaurant that you’re at yeah even if the waiter does not speak clearly not and and then the best part was that he eventually did and I was like like I have no idea what this guy his name Lawrence his name tag says Carlos I don’t think he’s from Italy hey Carlos Carlo Carlo Carlo s my bad Carlo santui my bad all right let’s get to our our list here so top 10 Thursday today so there’s some confusion I saw I think it was Nate saying so is this the best 10 college careers for Blackhawks or the top 10 Blackhawks who happen to play college hockey option b I would also like Clarity on this list yeah that’s it the top 10 black who played Kaki okay not drafted players only no no okay well I’m glad none of the players that I had on my good list are more exciting 10 are on this list though I might have uh manipulated um a couple of those numbers because I was like I don’t know if that guy should be TP when you said then when you said why because we ended yesterday’s show and we were like okay top 10 Thursday we I could have swore we left the studio with drafted players who were drafted that played college because of our reasoning was they just drafted levanov who played who is playing college did play college and because the college football game was coming out I thought it was drafted out of college so after I got through my top three I went and I thought this would be an interesting list and then I saw what the list was and I thought I must have not been listening it shows you how well I did in college we keep things simple around here we want to listen to be entertaining with names people know and no jizo Chris Herer will not be on the list he was on mine okay well I don’t know if he’s gonna make the top 10 Chris heringer wow that’s a name he gives people the herps yeah it’s a lifestyle guarantee you his hockey nickname was herpes herpes herpes huh the whole team turns around back in those days all right let’s get to it enough grab Asser this is not what chaos yeah we’re actually on the air the summer time hey they did a show today or yesterday 35 minutes about how their Summer’s going so far hey Pete got engaged though what good for him look at Pete that’s awesome is that why who’s in a hotel room it looked like he’s in a hotel room in that oh I he might still be he’s probably on vacation or that he’s still quarantined from the Vegas Gunk Vegas flu yeah well Vegas flu is something completely different yeah that’s a little different my bad all right the floor is yours Mr boyon who’s number 10 uh number 10 I actually have uh notes this week I’m all professional junk uh number 10 Gary don’t call me Ryan Suitor please don’t um or Bob or other names two seasons at the University of Wisconsin uh not the the first but not the last Badger on our list he played 74 games over those two seasons had 16 goals and 76 points as a defenseman that’s in a in the mid 80s like early 80s that’s pretty good even for college hockey defenseman weren’t putting up a lot of points M uh Gary Suter um was not drafted by the Hawks but uh was a very important uh member of those early 90s Hawks teams after he was acquired from the Calgary Flames I love the Gary Suter Chris chellos paing they were great together uh couple of bad nice compliment to there was one year I believe 95 96 where they finished either one- two or two and three on the team in scoring Gary sud put up 67 points in uh 9596 and he was the more offensive of him and chellos but uh that tandem was you talk about like the yin and yang of those two they worked together very very well underrated Blackhawk 95 96 at 31 he had 20 goals as a defenseman yeah impressive uh one of three 20 goal seasons in his career I’m I’m right so 95 96 six Chris chellos led the Blackhawks in scoring with 72 points in 81 games ronic was second with 67 points and 66 games injuries and then Gary suder also with 67 points but in 82 games so your two of your top three scorers were your first defensive pair that’s uh not usually a recipe for Success no definitely not in the but that 9596 yeah yeah that was a good team did not bad yeah us usually not a uh a uh recipe for S but it worked for them um he was uh acquired they did have seven players with 50 points or more well that’s dep out good depth um I I stand correct that he was not traded acquired from the Calgary Flames he was originally part of a Calgary trade from the Calgary Flames of the Hartford Whalers and then the next day the Whalers traded him with a third round pick uh to the Blackhawks for Randy cworth or no with Randy cnorth for Joselyn the mule and someone’s name I’m not even gonna try and pronounce because I’ve never heard of him wait it’s Gary Suter not Gary Sutter trade this guy so uh yeah Hartford Whalers Legend Gary Suter play played all of 13 hours it’s good for airline miles yeah that’s about enough time in Harford good for him he was an awesome player and for Hawks like younger Hawks fans like you’re going to get some names on this list that you should probably know about because uh Gary sud was a very good player for a really long time born in MA Madison Wisconsin played at the University of Wisconsin yes and then spent a long time uh with the Blackhawks as well so Midwestern guy through and through five years with the Hawks 301 games 179 points and had a 91o season with the Calgary Flames yep was it called a trophy winner yeah it’s great player 91 points and 24 penalty minutes yep well he almost killed Paul Korea you remember that oh yes I do Paul Korea came from behind the net and sud trying to I mean it was it was a cross check there’s no doubt about it but sud trying to keep him out from in front just cross checks him across the jaw and is one of Paula’s six dozen concussions right uh it was rough but uh yeah I think he was suspended for that but yeah Gary Suter very good player all right moving on number nine we have Tony Amante best 10 ever uh the second best 10 on this list yeah exactly uh Boston University um two seasons 79 games played 56 goals and 126 points in two College Seasons pretty good uh yeah and you know we we’ve talked a lot about Tony mon when we reminisce about the 90s and early 2000s of how he kind of uh you know if those teams were better he would have had definitely more of a yeah uh National recognition um you know his two his two seasons in Wass at at uh Boston at Buu was pretty good though uh his freshman year in 8990 25 goals 58 points and 41 games and then his second season uh 31 goals 68 points in 38 games so definitely an offensive driver for the Terriers back then uh was acquired from the Rangers uh in 94 n with Matt oats uh I don’t know if he’s related to Adam or not uh for Brian Nunan and Stefan matau so that’s a trade that worked well for both team yeah both teams happy with that Nunan and matau played big roles in those uh 94 Stanley Cup playoffs of course matau scoring that famous goal in uh is that game seven of the devil series or was yeah was the the winner right yeah so uh with the Hawks of course Tony mané uh gotta scroll nine Seasons with the Hawks after being acquired 268 goals 541 points in 627 games uh he had seasons of 31 41 31 44 43 35 consecutive seasons on a pretty much him and Alex J were the whole team back in those days PR darn good season one thing I’ll say too about Amonte and you mentioned like how he didn’t really have the national reputation when he got his opportunities like with the World Cup and with All-Star games he usually showed out yeah usually played pretty well in those games and he was one of the best scoring forwards in the league at the time like these 40 goals in the late 90s and early 2000s are significant guys were not scoring h goals those years no not at all or or of course like the 80s where you have 192 Point Seasons from Wayne gry like 40 goals were tough in the darien Hatcher NHL especially a 40 goal scorer when you’re like the only guy on some of those teams that you had to try and stop Yes like most teams are like if we stop the ammane line we’re going to win this game by three and he still the numbers right exactly and he still put up the numbers so very very good um record zero 40 goal seasons for Patrick CH the second best 10 in Hawks history Tony Monte by the way uh his second year at Boston played with a one Keith kachuck who was after retirement they went out and they follow the same workout plan they spent lots of times at the Old Country Buffet at but’s mon looks good yeah he slim down yeah yes all the weight uh he lost probably sto doing he has absorbed it probably stopped doing 247 Donuts well perhaps he he’s not living life he might be thinner but he’s not happy well how do we get happy Greg uh we get Happy by by protecting our precious eyeballs during the sunny season and looking really cool while doing it our friends at Shady Rays have you covered premium polarized my buddy at the airport in Las Vegas sitting right behind Jay that was that was a lesson to never do MMA fighting that was rough I mean jokes aside that guy he was in bad shape yeah he dropped his coffee cup and was like well guess I’m not having here’s 20 minutes of me trying to get my cup I’m like I got it Don you’re good please don’t kill me knee brace and his mangled hands and oh even as in bad shape as he looked I was still deathly afraid of oh he would kill me in a heartbeat yeah and his mustache looked great he did the mustache looked great but that was seeing that seeing the after effects of a lifetime of MMA is yeah and that was like the old school MMA where it’s like kill each other yeah that was the the the 9s UFC where it was like yeah there’s no rules like a judo Guy versus just some bar brawl a dude with one boxing glove yeah it was like right the Ken Shamrock uh Gracie days where they just killed each other yeah yeah fry and Ken Shamrock actually beat the crap out of each other uh by the way the the poll question about Donuts yeah when do you like donuts either in the morning that’s not the you are skewing the question when do you like donuts is not the question yes of course they’re preferred in the morning I said I said only in the morning or all day that was the two options no the two option you skewed the You’ have skewed the poll that’s what she said the question is can you eat donuts all day yes or no yes or no that’s the question yes who’s that saying note of that exactly that’s our that’s what we’re saying dude joke we want the poll to prove our points yes come on okay trying to win seen enough losses on the show you you play the game to win somebody smart said that once all right where are we on this list the best number 10 in Blackhawks history Patrick Sharp uh by the way shout out to me for sourcing photos of every that is I’m actually very impressed by that not an easy task Gary shoter looks like he’s wearing a baseball I I can’t wait to see yeah there’s a guy in my men’s league that has that played with a mask like that for one game and the ref was like halfway through he was just like no you can’t wear that like that is not safe at all Patrick Sharp 65 games over two seasons for Vermont uh 25 goals 53 points not like the dominant offensive player weird it’s like he’s not as good as tonyman or something um you know well you know also not playing for a Powerhouse team playu for one season yeah um but as we know he was a late bloomer when it came to his goal scoring uh with the Hawks two stance 11 years 749 games 249 goals 532 points uh one two three four five six six consecutive seasons of at least 20 goals seven out of eight if you don’t include the uh strike shortened or lockout shortened 2013 season which he also dealt with some injuries in that season too uh one of the greatest trades in Blackhawks history uh maybe the best trade in NHL history pound for pound yeah I mean you gave up literally nothing Matt Ellison is a that’s the only reason I remember his name yes is because he’s the shirt stuffer we traded for Patrick Sharp and that was a trade that nobody thought of anything at the time cuz two change of scenery it was like a change of scenery trade yeah I mean the with the he didn’t have a ton of NHL time with the Flyers uh 66 games over parts of three seasons 10 goals 15 points up and down um had here’s a fun fact in his first somewhat full season uh he had 55 penalty minutes in 41 games Patrick Sharp little red ass Patrick Sharp there for you um but definitely a guy that blossomed and was a huge part of three Stanley Cup champions um meanwhile Matt Ellison went on to play seven games for the Flyers but those were seven most important games and that one assist he got in those seven games is bet you was on a game primary assist damn it on a game-winning goal yeah um and but Patrick Sharp back with the Flyers organization these days um it’s like they Brian Campbell sure he he actually uh went back and was a consultant for Vermont for a college tie-in for a year and then did the broadcasting thing here and then decided I good man I I guess this just his heart just probably wasn’t in the broadcasting thing but I thought he was really good at it had a really tons of potential but I mean there were many of nights uh when he was doing the games doing a fine job but it would be like the game ends the the final horn ends and all of us get in the elevator to get downstairs you get to the the locker room and he’s got his suitcase and he’s in the elevator with us like the game like the broadcast just signed off the air three seconds ago he packed up he’s heading right to thep g y he’s gone uh but Patrick Sharp uh the most handsome guy on this list oh I don’t think there’s much question about most handsome guy on any list on Stephen beat says Sharpie is one of the players my girlfriend still FS over I mean rightfully so I mean I still fa over him so he is a strikingly handsome fell Patrick Sharp says hello and calls you buddy your heart skips a beat yeah it just does it’s it’s science yeah just walking past Skips a be he has an AA there’s an aura there’s anaes give off an aura of success positive aura not negative Aura no we don’t need any of that all right number seven I want to see the picture for this one you able to get a college picture of Keith damn right magn there you go uh played at uh Denver boy he looks the same don’t he yeah as you can see uh he was a c AP there for Denver the Pioneers 96 games played over three seasons at Denver 16 goals 75 points still pretty good numbers for a uh defenseman in that era uh but then of course uh came to the Blackhawks and has is to this day still one of the most beloved Blackhawks of all time uh his number hangs from the rafters was even the Blackhawks coach Seasons uh spent his entire year with the Hawks 11 Seasons 589 games 14 goals 139 points 1440 penalty minutes that’s uh that’s a lot that’s is a lot yeah all of his goals were even strength goals one career game winner uh yeah not uh he was he was that blue collar guy that just the kind of guy Chicago loves exactly and you know his personality you know I’ve heard so many stories about Keith Magnuson like in the offseason like he used to work for Coca-Cola Coca-Cola hired him to kind of like hey show up to these events and tell him you’re Keith Magnuson and drink Coke and nobody enjoyed like the celebrity of being Keith Magnuson more than he did and I’ve Heard lots of stories um a lot of them involved him taking off articles of clothing uh oh in a in a fun good-natured way but uh yes um got away with some things you probably couldn’t to no no no no Keith Magnus by the way you could pretty much add everyone pre 1995 to that every NHL player ever before the smartphone like Keith Magnus along with every single one of the players he played with and against were very thankful that cell phone cameras and and social media was not a thing play uh probably almost everybody on our list uh I would say so yes teammates with Cliff Coral yep at Denver for his uh time there yep teammates yeah at with and with the Hawks too Cliff coral one of the big uh I believe Cliff Coral is the one that started the Blackhawks Alumni Association yeah yep yeah um part of it comes to all the events still there yeah looks you know looks good for an ex hockey player from that generation still comes out he’s always there opening night on the uh red carpet so uh yeah good for Keith Magnuson a uh a legend amongst Legends for the Blackhawks uh number six speaking of Legends speaking of badasses and beloved players with numbers retired it’s Chris Chelios there he is at the University of Wisconsin where a listen I expected yeah a little bit but uh you know well well yeah he he was only on two lists ah uh two seasons for the Badgers 69 games play 15 goals 75 points over a point per game for chel in college and I mean do we really need to like go over his NHL career it was spectacular we spent half of February waxing poetically about him you can go to ch locker.com and get a raised in Chicago 7 Banner shirt I’m not exactly sure who that’s in reference to but um it’s just very good time to put that up there too uh so I look uh but Chris chellos is just he’s awesome a Chicago guy and just he’s he’s a guy that like even to this day when you know you see him at the rink or you see him for his retirement and you’re just in the room with him you’re to this day I’m still like Chris e that’s still the coolest guy on the planet in my world the front of that Jersey is my uncle gave that to me and it is signed by Chris jelios made out to me so I mean as I and you I’m sure we’re becoming hockey fans like Chris jelios was front and center that was the guy himic and Belfor like three coolest guys ever and I still when I see those guys I’m like those are the dudes they’ll always be cool I’m always like I’m more star struck uh at at NHL games by the Scouts in the Press Box CU those are the guys I I Sydney Crosby Conor McDavid could walk by me in the hallway I be like hey okay that’s Conor McDavid but then i’ be like oh my God Dirk Graham he’s there all the damn time I still I’m like that’s still Dirk effing Graham you would I swear to God if we lined five people up in here and had Dirk Graham as one of them you most people wouldn’t be able to pick which one was Durk totally different it took me like two games uh when I first started on the AHL beat sitting next to him at the All State Arena before I realized who it was yeah and I’m one of his biggest fans yeah all right are we in the break Zone uh yeah let’s uh let’s let’s make that happen what do you say let’s have a break here we go number five oh look at that that’s look man you sure that’s I got to say photo work did you like reach out to these colleges and say I definitely got credit from everyone these are all legally a great picture espito Michigan Tech how about that uh man that that doesn’t even look like him to be honest with you hope if you would have showed me that picture and be like guess the NHL Hall of Famer that is I would never would have guessed yeah uh Tony espeo but he spent three seasons at Michigan State or Michigan Tech my bad uh 52 games played over those three seasons had a 2.54 goals against average and a 912 save percentage uh during that time uh and then of course um was claimed in the waiver draft good move uh from the Montreal Canadians in 1969 nice uh and the rest as they say is history U arguably the best goalie in Blackhawks history definitely on the Mount Rushmore of goenda retired uh 873 games over 15 Seasons 32 wins a career 906 save percentage 2.93 goals against uh and 74 career shutouts the franchise record I don’t think anybody I don’t think anybody’s bre that anytime soon Lauren BR yeah let’s see what you got Adam guyen um so but besides the accolades besides all the numbers the Hall of Fame career Hall of Fame human being uh one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet in your life uh I had the honor of doing a phone interview with him uh well there’s our guy he’s waiting for his cor light um we summoned him when the rocky wart book came out um was that about five six years ago yeah would say so uh I got a chance to uh review it for the the site I was working for at the time and including with that I got to do an interview with Rocky and Tony ESP esbo that wrote uh the forward to that book and I remember calling him and talking to him about the questions about the book and and Rocky and the wordss family and I thought I was done and we ended up talking for like another 30 minutes cuz I had mentioned something about uh being at Fifth Third Arena doing a scouting thing and he just and it just took off and it was one of the coolest uh days of my career just with Tony s bazito and it was like I’m I’m sure that was pretty much every conversation he had like he asked me more about me than I asked him about him that’s so cool yeah uh Erica says does MTU still exists yes it does yeah mtu.edu michig tech let’s get him hooked up let’s get him sponsoring us here do they still play hockey it’s where John Scott played his hockey is uh is bed check Charlie their mascot nope no goodness apparently it’s John Scott John Scott Charlie bed check John Scott it’s also where uh Blackhawks Legend Tanner Cara went to college all right that’s a hell of a program they got there at Michigan ESO John Scott Dano I mean it’s I mean if there’s a mount Rush more better than that that’s not a recruiting tool I don’t know what is their mascot blizzard tea husky I like it nice nice I’m in blizzard tea husky it’s like a dog and an ice cream treat all in the same lightful amazing those things I almost buy by mistake at the jewel oh this is a dog tree not ice cream foro was it Frosty paw I think it’s called well they put them in the same frozen section it’s right there SC reg stuff like nothing like a little a little ice cream treat with a dog on it like that looks you know it’s good marketing little bone marrow and pork flavored ice cream anytime of day 247 that’s a late night treat for me fair enough fair enough after Sunnyside um yeah I mean again Tony espito Legend and then speaking of amazing golender uh number four we just mentioned him a couple minutes ago Ed Belfor uh now yes this is a college photo a young Eddie to have Theo College he spent uh one season at uh North Dakota and uh spoiler alert have a theme here I think far from the last UND alumni in the top four uh only played one season there but it was quite the season he went 29 and4 in his one season at North Dakota with a 2.37 ga and a nine5 save percentage he also had two assists he did he was uh uh maybe the best undrafted golender of all time oh I mean he’s got an argument I mean he’s in the team photo yeah not that I can’t think of many I can’t really think many off the top of my head that were undrafted I mean goalies you see more yeah but like definitely one of the best all right here’s some of the here’s the list wow well I mean there was a whole era where where players weren’t drafted though so when did the draft begin 1967 okay so Belfor Curtis Joseph pretty good uh bosi oh from Russia yeah Europe yeah cam tbet best not better than yeah I’m just I’m just going down the list in wins and yeah so it’s the argument is Belfor Kujo or boski yeah and they’re all those are guys that are all right there in that two Hall of Famers and a third likely will get there one day I’m certainly biased but I have if it’s a game seven and I’m picking between those three I’m picking Bell for sure yeah yeah yeah I probably would too but I’m a little biased yeah we’re a little bias but yeah uh with the Hawks he uh had 4115 games 201 wins 903 sa save percentage 2.65 GAA and a 30 career shutouts to match his number uh when he was traded to the San Jose Sharks uh a small piece of me died inside uh one of my all-time favorite players as we said earlier Chelios ronic bfor those were the dudes and in a like a blink of an eye they were all gone I have I have anable memory of that tra I so my parents house in the basement I had a a TV that I used to play my PlayStation it was like right in the end of the we had like kind of like a bar Island thing in the basement sner had the radio on because it was right before a home game and they’re like Eddie bfor has been traded we’re working on the details and like party’s like [ __ ] but then party’s like well they trade Eddie B for they’re going to get something good back so I’m waiting for the return they go okay we got the return it’s ol dalan and Michael sakur and I was like and Chris terrar don’t forget Chris Chris Terr yes and my heart just sunk I’m like that’s it that can’t be it that can’t be all they got and Michael sakur at the time was like he was considered like an upand cominging defenseman very similar to uh Andre Ericson when the Hawks trados for him it was like Hey you could see this guy maybe being on the cusp of being really good neither of them panned out which just crushed the trade return for both uh Chelios and bfor I mean UL dalan played well for the Hawks but he was like a 40p point guy middle of the road kind of like not a Difference Maker at all uh here’s a fun fact I always forget about Ed B for’s career and then when I see it I go oh yeah that happened did you know Ed bfor was technically a Nashville predator for three days in 2002 I did not know that his rights were traded by the Dallas Stars with Cameron man that sounds camman Cam man uh for a fifth round pick and David Goslin but he uh ended up signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs three days later uh yeah good thinking so yes Nashville Predator Legend Ed Belfor they can bring him out for an alumni game there you go Ed Belfor was teammates uh in the 1986 87 season at North Dakota with Tony herot 116 points in 48 games that year for him that’s a good season Tony kach bull former bull Tony kach H RKA a c herot he’s around all who’s he work for he a broadcaster Scout he I don’t know I I always that’s a tough name that I never the only reason I remembered how to pronounce because I know it rhymes with Circus Circus what is he doing is someone needs to update his Wikipedia well if only any yeah if only there was a way to do work for the lightning the lightning for lightning all right Scout lightning scout6 points in a college season that’s crazy I mean we’re going nut over mlin celebrini this last season he had 64 points bum that’s a lot less than 114 almost half I’m not a mathematician uh all right number three wait huh to this story from January of this year Tony herkus in the Press Box at crypto.com Arena in la la saved someone who is choking really gave the heck and saved her life gave him the hercus wow the hercus jerus the the old hercus is that’s it’s cool that a hot came right out he are of think I would never know maybe it was Mark ban joking on unwashed Gummy Bears I don’t know it could be anything an entire fist of gummy bears no don’t those are albanies and then and then and then one he hked back up he picked up and eight well there you go Tony hus uh former teammate of Eddie B for and lifesaving a hero hero a real life hero innovator of the hercus jerus to save you from choking on your Gizzy H hey before we get to the top three uh what do you say we do a lik spike yeah what’s going on with the likes here this is uh problematic one away from a really nice number yeah almost as prob like button the hercus Jer and the presidential candidate you love will win the election yes guaranteed hit that button for us requires that we have to love one of us watch no votes yes exactly get dislike yeah all right hit the like button and the Blackhawks jersey will come back someday how’s that yeah yeah fair enough the black all right I’m with that all right all right let’s keep rolling uh top three we’re staying in Grand Forks North Dakota look at that was this unanimous top three I think so I’d imagine might have been I might have had Bell 4 3 and Murray 4 okay um but yeah Troy Murray our guy look at that look at that hair speaking of people that make wives Swoon Troy Murray makes my wife Swoon nice she like should make that a t-shirt It’s upsetting you should uh you should show her that picture that’s a good one but yeah he Troy is a guy who is uh you know he’s he’s glown up as the kids say with age very handsome man uh anyway yeah two seasons at North Dakota 64 games he had 46 goals and 108 points in those Day at the Office for Troy I he probably had a lot of elbows to the back of the heads of people and some uh maybe overaggressive uh slashes uh Troy Murray man just an awesome hockey player was the perfect 1980s hockey player uh could score a bit had the huge 45 goal 99 Point season in 8586 when he won the selki um that was like that was the outlier but he still was pretty good 15 26 goals 28 22 21 17 uh and then he he was originally drafted uh in the third round of the 1980 draft uh I believe that that was a good draft that was a draft where the Hawks got in one draft Dennis seard Steve ler and Troy Murray pretty good that’s pretty darn good right there there were a couple others I’m forgetting from that draft but uh spent a year uh at the with the Lethbridge Broncos of the WHL before going to North Dakota as I mentioned great numbers there uh then he bounced around after the Hawks um you know I always wonder you know when you number 19 is getting retired and I think you have to leave that alone for Jonathan Taves I would think so but if you do a Ring of Honor or a Blackhawks h of f Troy Murray needs to be one one of the first people on there absolutely um he was traded um 1991 um with Warren reel who I believe is Lucas’s Uncle uh that’s Robert reeler is spell different I’m I’m having a brain fart uh but he was traded to the Jets for Chris Norton and Brian marchment um and then speaking of shits to the Head yeah and then he was then he came back uh in 93 and then was traded again to the Senators uh for an 11th round draft pick um and then the Senators traded him to Pittsburgh with uh current Blackhawks assistant GM nor mckyer they were teammates in Ottawa and teammates in Pittsburgh hockey is like The Traveling Circus Pro Wrestling yeah everyone’s played with everyone everybody knows everybody everybody’s worked for everybody it’s amazing he ended his career as NHL the uh 9596 was his last year in the NHL and that included a Stanley Cup win with the Colorado Avalanche way to go out yeah I mean go out on top but he wasn’t done he uh yeah he came back to Chicago came Chicago 9697 played with the Chicago Wolves and uh scored 21 goals and 50 points in 81 IHL games with the wolves that was when the wolves that was about what they’re third fourth season yeah and that’s when they were bringing in guys like Al Secord and Brian newon who we talked about looking at that team he was never a Blackhawk though oh okay uh Rob Brown was on that team Brown Miller was on that team yeah lots of uh they they like to bring back the old Blackhawks mean they were doing that for even you know chellos was there for uh M uh they burish and Ben eager played for the Wolves for a hot minute so uh yep Brent Soo they love doing uh maybe that’s our next top 10 is top 10 former Blackhawks who also that’s play for the Chicago I’m done with that all right what we at the top uh two three top two we are leaving the state of North Dakota for moments briefly just as brief as this player stint in college yes uh Duncan Keith good number two number two on our list a Michigan State player hey he played for more than one season season and a halfish before he went uh back to or went to Juniors um 56 games over a season and a half six goals 24 points um not the uh you know crazy numbers you would expect a future Hall of Famer to put up in college but as we’ve talked many times when talking about the development of young defenseman this guy took forever to find his game like he was a project draft pick when he was taken in the second round 54th overall 2002 by Mike Smith who doesn’t get enough credit for the those those early Dynasty teams uh and he didn’t play until 2005 when he made his uh NHL debut but 16 years with the Hawks almost 1,00 games 625 points and the Heart and Soul of three Stanley Cup champions the uh K SMI winner in 20 15 um you could talk about do they win a do they win a cup without Patrick Kane do they win a cup without Jonathan Taves maybe do they win a cup with no Duncan Keith no no I don’t think so that guy is the ability to said this before you just never even had to talk about him because you knew he was going to be great all the time it was a guy you never had to worry about you put him out there he’s going to play 25 to 30 minutes a night and shut down the other team and that’s it can we talk about uh his nicknames on hockey reference oh God I hate these two of them dunks dunks and Duncan teeth okay yes those are real here are two that I’ve never heard before jigsaw what andw Bambi Bambi maybe they called him Bambi because he looked like Bambi on Ice his first did early on two years in the NHL but uh uh is that on Wikipedia that’s on hockey reference has the uh I’m gonna yeah okay that’s got to be what it was because that a lot of people have said that about him his first couple years as a pro the skating was not what it is now yeah or was when he I don’t know what it is now sure Prett good I don’t know what the jigsaw maybe he was just a huge fan of the movie saws does he look like jigsaw a little bit June 7th 2010 here’s an article from the Rockford ice Hogs Keith a big piece of blackhawks’ puzzle the Blackhawks called Duncan Keith jigsaw once Brian Campbell revealed why Sunday morning the nickname took a whole new wait this is written weird uh once Brian Campbell revealed why Sunday morning the nickname took on a whole new meeting he’s a big fan of the Saw movies Campbell said he loves serial killers histories of serial killers that checks out he got a little bit of serial killer the next sentence is Keith is a serial killer in his own right who wrote this that’s something chicag black.com June 7th of 2010 who would be writing for the ice Hogs is it C Davidson could have been I don’t know well there you go vote molini at the cup uh rally so yeah’s I mean yeah I could see the uh serial killer uh enthusiasts in him um he’s a big crime dock guy yeah he’s a watching jigsaw he’s watching the ID Network a lot um him and my girlfriend probably watch all the same shows all right number one can you guess it’s Drew le blah no I’m kidding it is Jonathan Taves it’s Ben Smith Jonathan Taves wearing uh the uh fighting Sue Jersey I actually have that Jersey Jersey is sick I I’m not going to it’s to every once in a while you’ll see a a t the UC yeah I I I love that Jersey uh give the green or the white I’ve got the white uh they don’t sell those anymore um because they’ve changed the name and the logo but uh I had a uh a niece uh who was going to UND and this was long after he’d been gone maybe 2010 2011 and she before they changed it she happened to ask in the bookstore by a chance do you have any Jonathan Taves jerseys left the guy checked in the back he’s like yeah the only size we have is 3x and she’s like perfect I’ll take it and that was my Christmas present that year Ser I love it I will GI ever I will definitely with that um I’ll wear it in the fall little more appropriate hockey you know hockey jerseys are not like donuts you have to have the right time to wear a hockey jersey not not a sunny side summer Thursday uh but Jonathan Taves uh at the a for mentioned University of North Dakota uh 76 games over two seasons 40 goals 85 points Prett good and uh you know his entire career with the Hawks drafted third overall don’t think he’s ever playing for another team would love to see him back in the organization somehow uh but just another one of dozens and dozens and dozens of great NHL players yeah uh North Dakota has produced over the years it’s like I say about the London Knights if you’re on the fence about two prospects and one played for London and one didn’t take him same deal with the guy went to North Dakota and you’re on the fence take to North Dakota what if it’s North Dakota and Michigan Tech oh that’s tough North Dakota is tough still side with North Dakota uh I’ve got some honorable mentions yeah for sure I got a list of guys that you know should we go through our lists uh yeah we can and then I’ve got some Honorable Men we can go I will own up to my list well there be some fun names there will be some it was a good list there are names for for the black um yeah when I when you sent me that list this morning I was like um okay I’ll go with that man uh but uh my top 10 was uh not far off from where we had I had Taves Keith I had Belfor three I had Keith Magnuson four Tony espito five uh cellio 6 sharp seven Amman 8 Murray I had him down further and Gary suder at uh number 10 so my Miss was Magnus sure uh so he’s on of mine I had Taves Keith Chelios espacito B for Murray Amonte sharp suor and I put Alex fasic on there nice see I wasn’t the only one then yep my top 10 was uh T Keith Murray and then Adam burish Ben Smith Nick schaltz Tyler arneson Jack O Callahan Alex vasic and Vinnie hinestroza because they were drafted by the Blackhawks and played in college that was my Lost in Translation didn’t read the homework assignment uh I’ve been there buddy well next year that was my next year we’re going to do players actually drafted by the Black why uh Labowski five that’s why chellos is six because I didn’t vote forio I didn’t vote for Amani or just imagine if I would have put Adam burish at eight which if I would have done this uh by our rules he would have been I was like I don’t know if I could do that we got some splaining to do if Adam bur is eighth on the list here I didn’t I didn’t listen teacher I’m sorry that’s all right it happens um we have uh you mentioned Ben Smith on your list some of the other good players played Michigan and Hawks history Eric weinrich uh went to Maine Jamal Mayers a western Michigan uh player current Blackhawks uh assistant coach Derek plant went to uh Minnesota duth uh our favorite shirtless guy named after a football coach John Madden is a wolverine okay there’s a list yes curless guys and football coaches John Madden is number one m uh Chris kunet our favorite guy that passes and gets paid a lot of money to make passes practice went to feris State I have a buddy of mine that played hockey at Ferris State sa Save Ferris Nick Nick Lenny uh a goer Scott darling played at Maine we mentioned uh Cliff Coral at Denver and uh our other uh longtime favorite legendary Blackhawk Jack Johnson another Wolverine Michigan by the way guy’s name is actually um Kevin bill bich yeah yeah Jim Harbaugh Dave wants that yeah so he’ll be on the list too yes yeah um all right well the G can’t wait till lunov is on this list in 20 years I can’t either uh I hope he is one quick sooner correction about uh levanov the yesterday we were asked about the nine games and send them back and we said well that’s only for ch uh L players but Genesis in the Die Hard only Discord I want to give him a shout out because he correctly pointed out that apparently with the NHL if you sign your entry-level contract at 18 or 19 that still applies to you so if he plays less than 10 games in the NHL this year his contract will slide another year we did go through that with Lucas reel because we were all like why are they burning a year with Lucas reel because he wasn’t he was still 19 at the time so I looked it up puckpedia our new best friend in the whole wide world confirms if Le uh leinoff plays less than 10 games in the NHL this year so if he plays the whole season in Rockford his contract will slide okay I I guess I didn’t know it was the the age apparently yeah it is I guess if you I I guess you don’t I guess you don’t see too many 18year olds that already played in college that signed their ELC that and then yeah right I think of like Jack eel or like celebrini this year like they’re gonna play 10 games you know right you just not so yeah it’s it’s a it’s a rare thing to happen but all right uh shout out to our Die Hard Genesis in the Discord for uh NHL contracts um historically easy to understand yes there was only some sort of resource where we could uh a friendly reminder of what they could be oh well at least there was a pedia of a reminder we will always admit when we’re wrong because we’re wrong a lot yeah hey another reason shows a week we’re gonna make mistakes and that’s another reason why I’m not an NHL GM because I don’t even know how contracts work you think all 32 NHL GMS understand all the contracts top to bottom I uh I don’t think they do no they lawyers don’t even know take a machine that’s why the Blackhawks have six assistant GI there’s I guarantee you one of them is the paperwork guy sure like chy you make sure that everything is up to you saw today’s latest uh every every shift episode that was releas Blackhawks uh one person in the middle of the three of us has a sound clip on that episode and you can see every time that uh Kyle Davidson needs to hand a paper note to somebody it goes to Megan Hunter she takes it and she runs it up and then she there you go takes it to tootsies we’re going to wrap up the show right now thanks for joining us we appreciate you hit that like button for us tomorrow we haven’t had the chance to really do this since the uh season ended and free agency began the draft we’re going to kind of go around the Central Division and take a look at who improved who uh didn’t and talk a little bit about uh the Central Division featuring the Utah Hockey Club which should be interesting yes so we’ll talk to you tomorrow at 2:30 again hit that like button for us we’ll see you then on a chto Blackhawks [Music] podcast like the man
