STEVE YZERMAN MAKES ANOTHER MOVE: DETROIT RED WINGS SIGN MICHAEL BRANDSEGG-NYGÅRD

all right here we go Steve Eiserman is back at it again he had made a number of nice signings over the past few days from different free agents to other guys still on the team but this is a contract that I think isn’t really too surprising but is still pretty good nonetheless mbn the Red Wings have signed Michael bronek new guard to a 3-year ELC with an aav of $975,000 now the thing is I got to get this out of the way too at the beginning of the video there are a number of different ways you can attempt to pronounce bran nard and I’m not saying it right the right way actually sounds a lot like a word that we probably shouldn’t be saying so I’m not going to go out there and force my hand at the Norwegian pronunciation but just to make things interesting Michael Brans nard is indeed the Detroit Red Wings 15th overall pick in the most recently concluded 20124 NHL entry draft as you can see 18 years old 6127 right-handed rightwing player phys Le forward a power forward and a two-way forward he’s coming off of a year where he actually did pretty well and it’s kind of you know why he was taken as a first round Prospect 18 points in 41 all Sven skin games which doesn’t sound like a lot Until you realize the AL fensin is the second tier Pro men’s league in Sweden he also had 10 points in 12 games in the qualifiers really bolstering up his point production he came alive when the games mattered the most and for the majority of the Season he was only years old so this was a guy who playing in a PR men’s league was able to be a point per game guy in those clutch playoff games he also was a point per game as an underage player a double underage player I’m pretty sure for team Norway at the world juniors and he had 12 points in seven games at the junior 20 MOA ik level so playing amongst his own age range in fact even just a bit lower he still had 12 points in seven games played even though Michael Brans nou guard is mostly renowned for his two-way stability his defensive efficiency and what he does along the boards he still does have a goal scoring and point producing touch that has allowed him to play pretty well up to this point in his career now he’ll be heading over to scalfa aik and the shl most likely on loan from the Detroit Red Wings because I mean look it doesn’t really scream like to me that this guy needs to be played in the AHL right away I think a year in Sweden could help him and an extra year playing at the top Pro men’s league in Sweden rather than the second tier would be pretty beneficial for Brans nou guard in his development it seems like he can handle those top Pro Line minutes now we’re going to go over to is there an article here on the Red Wings website no there is not instead we’re going over onto an article on pro hockey rumors.com because they did a pretty good job at summarizing the Brans seg new guard career up to this point he is the very first Norwegian ever to be selected in the first round he was quickly succeeded by Defender Stan suberg whom the Anaheim Ducks selected in the the 21st overall spot bran seg nouar earns his first NHL contract on the back of a standout year in the alenin Sweden’s second tier League while meager scoring at a glance branc nar’s production actually marks the most of any draft year player has scored in the league since 2018 and the ninth most all time he earned his keep on the back of a very high energy and responsible game BR seg nouar aderes closely to his position but still shows impressive Tempo and heft on the four check and quick processing when he fights his way onto the puck he seems mature Beyond his years a sentiment stamped by his Fant ftic International performances he had scored three goals and five points at the world juniors and then he matched that sat line in seven world championship games with Norway’s men’s Squad this summer showing his ability to make an impact on any stage that’s spelled incorrectly IM something like that an ELC will open the possibility for Brans noar joining the ahl’s Grand Rapids Griffins and maybe even vying for an NHL role next season though he’s currently expected to join the shl scalfa aik that should prove a plenty viable sparring ground for the high Tempo Brans as he looks to add Next Level offensive traits to what is already a very responsible tool set and the thing is with Brans nard I’ve seen a lot of people kind of complaining about this draft pick when it was made oh yeah Nate Danielson Marco Casper Brian s nugar Steve iserman is drafting the same guy over and over and over again it’s just this guy happens to be on the wing I do get that perspective and I do understand that there were higher upside swings that Eiserman could have made in these draft positions but at the end of the day I think most of these guys are going to make the NHL and have somewhat of a role on the Detroit Red Wings these are not total bums they’re just not you know Ivan demid dos going out there so while I do acknowledge that there is sort of a discrepancy of top tier Talent there still is Talent if you get what I mean and at the end of the day sometimes getting into the NHL especially for a player like this who has shown off pretty well in his entire career is the opportunity that they need to really explode in ways that we didn’t expect so hopefully Bren nard is able to progress properly throughout his career I have no doubt that he’s going to though he’s a very stable Prospect let me know your thoughts in the comment section below of the Detroit Red Wings signing him to his 3-year ELC with a $975,000 price tag I hope you enjoyed this vsh as r99 and bye
