Blue Jays Make SHOCKING Move – Major Sell-Off Starts NOW! (Blue Jays Today Show)

[Music] hello everybody and welcome back to the Blue Jays Today’s Show where today guys wow we’ve got some shocking news that is going on with the Toronto Blue Jays Kevin kermier yesterday it was official he’s been placed on the waiver wire we’re going to explain the details on what exactly that means cuz there was a bit of confusion amongst Jay’s fans on whether it was we could revoke it or whatnot we’re going to explain it all to yall in more and as well we got to take a look at who’s going to be replacing him and what other kind of moves could be following this Kevin Kier are cutting as we approach the trade deadline I’m your host Adam ped and I’m your host Nicholas playo and uh a lot of people are starting to speculate that this was the first domino in what is expected to be a long row of dominoes falling down for the ston Blue Jays in a big time selloff right we’ve been speculating on it for months at this point right ever since we saw the writing on the wall of this team and how they’ve been playing this season we have been wondering is it going to be a sell is it going to be a buy is it going to be a a conservative sell is it going to be a hold well this Kevin km move it it does tip their hand quite a bit in terms of the fact that it’s looking like we’re going to air on the side of getting rid of assets and it also looks like in getting rid of those assets we want a dumb salary Kevin km $4.5 million that is what he’s going to be paid over the course of the rest of the season right right we signed him to uh Over N uh so at this point it’s $4.5 million if anybody wants to get him the Toronto Blue Jays they don’t want to pay that anymore for a guy who’s got a 500 odd Ops right they’ve had enough and I think that this is going to be the first move of many where you see that yes we’re trading people away but we might not be getting the value that a lot of people had hoped for in return because honestly the Toronto Blue Jays the way that they’re looking at it right now is the value is we’re saving some some million maybe we can the off maybe they just hold to it because they’re communication but this could be the first of many yeah they realize we ain’t getting no value from him on the trade market so we might as well dump that salary we got an article right here from Shai DV that kind of breaks it down because again on our live stream yesterday if you were there we were speculating on what the hell does this mean like what are the details of this waiver wire well big credit to shyb who broke it down over here the bullet points are exact the claiming pool is two days from the player is first put on waivers so yesterday afternoon he was first put on the waivers so after that there’s 48 hours so about 30 28 hours at this point in time so if a team wants to pick them up they would have to take on that $4.5 million and here’s the big CL uh clarification here this waiver wire is not revocable meaning that once he is claimed the Blue Jays can’t go back on it and go oh no actually we we want him back the team picks them up and they take on the whole salary there’s been a lot of Articles out there and a lot of people were saying at the time there was I guess a miscommunication or confusion and I get it is actually very confusing but people were suggesting that well actually the Toronto Blue are doing this revocable waivers thing where they put them on the waivers and then you know they’re dipping their toe in the market seeing well if anybody wants him they’ll pick him up and then we can we can take them back right back may we can sell them which is kind of a cheat code actually exactly we were hearing that on the live stream I like what the [ __ ] I’ve never heard of that that doesn’t make any sense to me so uh sh has cleared it up that is not the case anymore this makes a lot more sense and effectively if Kevin km if you don’t hear the update that Kevin km has been picked up by the Dodgers or whoever which let’s be real I don’t think that’s going to happen probably not going to happen uh but if you don’t get that update before tomorrow’s game then he will have made it through that claiming period of time that 48 hours period of time and if that happens then they’re enter into another period of time where it say this this s days to outright him right so the Toronto Blue Jays now will have seven days to decide whether or not they just want to hold on to him right or just cut him completely and go all right we’re we’re done with you and and that will be that which uh Shai devid thinks as he’s very close to the team that the Blue Jays will not be trying to find a place for him on the team and in fact they’re just going to cut him I mean this makes sense guys he’s not a he’s not a piece that you would really want to be controlling for the future you got guys who are budding in your system and you might as well give them another shot cut the payroll get rid of him and just move on from your loss I’m ready for it man like you know I have been very outspoken because we’ve had a couple trade videos now uh you know talking about well who’s goingon to get sold who are going stade away and I kept saying it’s like I just find it so hard to believe that anyone would be willing to give up any value for Kev I was playing Devil’s Advocate where it’s like okay well if we’re eat the entire payroll because we were willing to accept it anyways like maybe we can get an A guy a single a guy and clearly it doesn’t look like that’s the case because if they thought that then they wouldn’t be doing this well here’s I I’ll put back I’ll push back on that a little bit though because I think what we’re learning right now is that an a guy because you know you’re not going to get a top tier Prospect right in in return for Kevin keber even if you did pay for the whole Prospect or the uh the whole deal right so let’s say it is this this a guy that you’ve never heard of that’s not in the top 30 prospects just a just a guy guy I think what we’ve learned right now is that that guy is not worth $4 and a half million dollars to the Toronto Blue you know like they’d rather get the leave or have the money go than you know like have to pay for Kevin kis Meers contract trade him away and then get this like nobody guy in return they just rather cut the money right right now is that is that uh true I’m not actually sure about this if they do set him through waivers do they still have to pay the contract or oh no no no no I think they still have to pay the money saying to pay the money that’s my point like if you’re going to pay the money anyways like why not get a guy uh because I guess no and that’s what I’m saying right it’s like because literally nobody is willing to pay the think from the other team perspective even I don’t even want to clear up a 40 man roster spot or a 26-man roster spot for Kevin kmar and I don’t want to give up an a guy from Rookie ball for even if it’s for free I don’t even want to do that so that’s how that’s how low his value is exactly and I think that’s why now they’re they’re honestly they’re like well you know we can’t we’re not going to get a trade regardless so we might as well just shoot our shot and hope that somebody takes the money in the next 48 hours which we can all say it is not going to happen because if no one’s even willing to get him for free let’s say and give up a little bit of a minor Prospect then no one’s going to want to pay four and a half million and clear up a Ras spot for Kevin km I’m pretty confident that Kevin km is off of this team folks I mean you’re seeing some articles saying that Kevin km is in limbo right now doesn’t know whether he’s going to be here not going to be here at this point I would be very surprised in fact I’d be shocked if the Tron blue did retain him right they make this move this is their yeah like they’re saying all right we’ve we’ve seen enough you know if somebody else wants him you can have them we are done with him at this point and I get it because Kevin km has not been playing very good baseball he had a good game yesterday and defensively speaking he’s been pretty solid but at the end of the day there are just other guys that you’d rather give that roster spot to at this point who are going to cost a lot less money and and we’re going to talk about that in just a moment I do see someone here in our YouTube chat saying uh I sort of need clarification of why Kar is and waivers I think LS said it clearly money dumping salary for sure but you know the British Canadian and Nascar fan goes well I get that he’s getting older but he’s a gold Glover I just want clarifications well it’s simply the readings on the wall my friend is the Blue Jays are going into this trade deadline looking to sell so there’s no need for a gold Glover or a bat or a veteran guy there’s no need for that because he simply cost too much and we just want to clear up some space like Nick said get someone else an opportunity because we’re looking at 2025 right now at this point that it’s very clear that we have given up on this season being seven games below 500 and we and even if they do come back you think Kevin km is going to be the force that’s going to bring this team back yeah probably not just got to cut your losses here guys well we are going to look at what we believe to be the the next coming moves for this uh you know who else could get traded who else could get cut but first things first let’s look at the corresponding move that will happen if Kevin Kier Meer does end up leaving the squad which we are at this point assuming that he is going to it is going to happen right uh so if nobody picks him up or I guess even if somebody did pick him up which they won’t but if the ton BLS just like outright him completely they are going to need to bring somebody up to fill in for him and right now we’re thinking that Nathan Lucas could be that guy right clearly they need some more Outfield help on this team and Nathan Lucas would be the next man up I mean looking at what he’s done so far in tripa it’s been very good guys he has a batting average in 44 games of 333 and an Ops of 886 that on base is very nice at 406 as well so he’s starting to Bud and become very good also happy birthday Nathan Lucas we hope that you get a call and a nice birthday gift to come to the Toronto Blue Jays very soon but that’s what it would be that you’re going to get a Nathan Lucas to come up there are some other guys as well that have been flirting with coming up in the Outfield spot don’t think it’s their time yet as they’ve been kind of struggling at triaa Will Robertson got off to a great start but it’s been cooling off his Ops is not 795 but obviously when you compare that to a Nathan Lucas you’d much rather have you know an extra 100 batting average as as will Roberts’s batling average is only 233 and then one of my personal favorites Allan Rhoden had a great start in daa great start his doua numbers were 805 batting average of 267 but then ever since going to Triple A it’s been very very bad for him so Nathan Lucas most likely going to be the guy replacing a Kevin Kier just honestly probably not at this point I’m looking at it right now shout out to somebody in the chat who just uh brought this up to us but uh yeah uh we were misinformed here cuz on June 17th uh Lucas underwent surgery this past Wednesday to repair a torn Nar collateral ligament in his left thumb I assume that that means that he is still out right now thank you for bringing that to our attention because I go here and he’s not even on an injured list well I guess they have an updated their website uh yeah maybe who knows if he’s back then that’s great but I don’t see any updates on that so if that’s the case then potentially one of those other players Will Robertson know Will Robertson cuz you’re going to have a 40-man roster spot so he might come up but other on other news you could also get an Addison barer however Addison barer might be a move that happens if bashet hits the I again yeah and that is again something that’s being talked about right now bashet right he is dayt day folks uh possible that he goes on the iil I’m finding it like I think that the B bashed and everything going on there I think that their decision to put him or not to put him on the ilil I think that you got to start thinking about trade deadline and and all of that stuff right because if you have them on the ilil like that’s obviously going to lose a lot of value if you did want to entertain some bashet trades and I think that the Toronto Blue Jays are thinking about that you know I think that that is at least something that they are considering when they’re making some decisions here yeah I mean like like we talked about before Ross Atkins has said I you know we’re not going to be trading or not Ross Atkins just through the Great Vine actually through mark vinan saying that the Blue Jays are not going to be trading away any of their guys who are under contract for 2024 but you brought up a good point to me before the stream where well if they’re dumping salary maybe Bo is on the table and maybe Chris Basset is on the table you never know well look the way I look at it and I’m going to have a video coming up tomorrow breaking down bashed and just my thoughts overall there but the the more I think about it you have a guy that has come out and said uh I’m I wouldn’t be surprised at all if I got traded uh you have a guy that’s come out and said that he wants to play on a winning team which is not the Tron Blue Jays right now everybody wants to play on a winning team I understand that but you also have a guy that is playing the worst baseball of his career by far and looks to be not making adjustments so you’re getting all these different things right here and he’s you know what he’s coming out and saying is effectively contradicting what Ross Atkins has come out and said and said I’m not going to trade B bashed well if you’re not going to trade B bashad why wouldn’t he be surprised if he got moved I’m just think I think he waser I’m playing Devil’s Advocate I think he was referencing that the fact that the team is sucking and everybody he wouldn’t be surprised if people got Trad in I understand that but like if you said hey I’m gonna go pick up the milk and then I said I’d be surprised if Adam picked up the milk you’d be like well why why I just said that I wasn’t gonna go do that you know what I mean it’s like Ross Atkins just said I’m not going to trade you so for buad to be like I’m not surprised if I got traded it feels like there’s a disconnect there and I feel like a miscommunication amongst the GM in the entire system I mean yeah you mean but that’s what I mean right I think that that being clear like you just said it yourself there is a disconnect and I think that there is a disconnect to boette so I look I I don’t take any stalk into the fact that okay Mark Fen said that maybe we’re not going to trade away these twoyear guys like I think that like sure maybe that’s what that’s the rumor on the gra fine right now but I think that Ross Atkins is leaving everything on the table here and you know B bashet at this point I think we can all agree that right now there’s not going to be any extension for boette moving forward in in 2025 or past 2025 so if there’s an offer on the table I think that I think that he it’s a lot more likely than some people are giving it credit for now well let’s talk about it because you know what is the intention right here by cutting salary and all that kind of stuff it looks like you’re maybe trying to restock and retool for next year yes if we are thinking about it from just a baseball perspective like just a fan perspective that is the optimistic way of looking at it but I also think that from a business and an investment standpoint you’re looking at Rogers Communication company right now well they’ve invested a lot of money into this stock that is dropping significantly so if I’m investing a lot of money in this this asset which is now plummeting I want to get out as quickly as possible here and I think that just from a money standpoint like they just want to cut some losses see how much money they can save on what is going to be a it’s going to be a bad season right and if that’s their intention like we want to cut money save money well yes I I hear from a business standpoint absolutely but based on so far all we know is that they still want to compete next year do you think there’s a possibility that they’re cutting money just so that they can kind of go out and buy a little bit more in the free hency market or or what are you thinking on that yeah I I mean I think that that’s certainly on the table and this trade deadline depending how big this major selloff is going to be because it is going to be quite the sell off here folks but is it is it still Ross Atkins next year who’s making the calls right cuz he will want to go in he’s going to want to you know he’s GNA want to do that he’s going to want to get that last year of Guerrero with bashet still on the team he’s going to want to do that as well and you know he’s going to want to go in as much as possible is there going to be a new guy are you gonna fire somebody and then there’s GNA be a new guy then it could be either way right maybe that new guy does want to go all in he’s got a new strategy that you know he wants to really dive into the hitting market and and do that right or I’ll alternatively it’s the complete flip side of things and he wants to continue to sell pieces off so I think that you’re leaving your options open is what they’re doing right now and they’re just not trying to handicap themselves yeah this move doesn’t say we’re doing one thing or another but it could be the first start of many moves um it’s it’ll be interesting to see in the next few weeks what exactly is their intention and and also what other kind of rumors are going through if they’re actually entertaining any conversations or any trade conversations for a bow or a basset or anybody else I mean I think that what we learned from this is you’re going to be cutting people and you’re going to be selling and you’re going to be trying to get away as much money as possible here so all those one-year guys I don’t see any of them really staying put except potentially Danny Jansen right and I also think that when you’re looking at some of the contracts of the Toronto Blue Jays right now the guys that are on the two-year deals or the three-year deals I would say even though they’ve come out or or Mike finson come out and said that oh you know I think that uh they’re going to be hesitant say going who are cheap contracts like a Chris Basset for instance is going to be getting paid 22 million in uh is that this is 2024 let’s go to 2025 yeah you got Chris Basset $22 million B bashed $17 million Chad green 10.5 those are guys that could possibly be on the table exactly right if you are really trying to leave as many options on the table as possible for yourself then a Cris Basset trade in my opinion makes sense because that’s somebody that you’re going to get a ton of value for you will shave off a decent amount of money there because somebody will be willing to take on that contract and let’s face it that’s like $30 million that the Toronto Blue Jays could just go oh okay not us anymore and we’ll take your uh fourth ranked Prospect in return or whatever it is right like that to me would make a lot of sense yeah and as we’re having all these conversations I mean we’ve talked about this for the last couple weeks about whether we’re trading these guys are not or we’re not it just I look at the guy who’s running this trade deadline I’m already seeing a lot of people in the comments talking about it like I just don’t think Ross Atkins has a in him to make these moves like maybe I maybe I’m talking out of my ass but I’ve seen Ross Atkins in running this team and he’s first of all he’s never made this move because we’ve never been in this position but I just highly doubt that Ross Atkins gives up this this would be giving up essentially if you if you sell off Chris Basset and you sell off you know bobette I think it’s all in the way that you frame it though right I I still see a way for him to maneuver this team and and try to sell the the higher management because that’s what he’s got to do right if he’s going to make all these moves he’s got to sell the higher Management on the vision here if you can save if you can save I don’t know $35 million or something for the upper management that’s a win right and then if you can then take that money and reinvest it in something else in the offseason that’s going to be better that’s a win I’m not saying that they’re gonna buy this but this is your sales Pi because that’s what I’m I’m laughing about is like I’m just picturing Ross ains all the way leading up to se year okay guys so Rogers we’re gonna buy Chris Basset we’re gonna buy this guy I’m telling you it’s gonna be great it’s gonna be amazing and then now this year okay so now hear me out we’re gonna sell Chris Bast it we’re gonna turn this around like if I’m Rogers I’m gonna be like dude what the [ __ ] like we’re done with you eventually that’s going to happen right and I think we can all agree that that should happen this offseason that should be what trans fires this offseason what is the best way for him to go forward I actually have no idea I’d say that right now probably for him to save his job the best way is to just try to make as much money for Rogers as possible because at least Money Talks that’s the thing right like if you start selling off all your guys sure you save some pay uh payroll but then there’s other implications now like what’s the ticket sales going to look like what are jersey sales going to look like I don’t think anybody’s going anyways right now man we’ve had some of the lowest attendant recently going to get even lower once you start ripping off some of our like notable guys yeah I hear that but I think it’s going to get even lower anyways you know okay I I’ll be honest guys if we’re completely out of the race would you want to go see a September baseball game even if Chris bass’s still there here’s the thing you’re not even thinking about this year you got to think about next year too because if you want to compete next year then you got to keep those guys and hope that Christ we know is going be I don’t think that that’s true though I think that you you can have a reality where you do shave off at least one of them and then still find a way to compete right we’re do look right now Kevin Gosman is not himself at all right Kevin go the one of our only good pitchers is Chris Basset we need you know next year you’re gonna need Kevin Gosman to bounce back to do anything right you need so many things to happen to to bounce back I don’t think you need Chris Basset to to to be competitive this year I mean we have him right now doing everything that he possibly can and we still [ __ ] suck yeah he yeah he let a 1.76 C in June he’s been phenomenal but my thing is like how do you sell that to Rogers you know it’s almost possible it’s like nothing factual you know it’s like all you know Theory and idea that’s that’s why I think a lot of us I think both of us included think that the best way forward is to operate under an idea where we aren’t competing in 2025 because they does see you to keep hitting this roadblock hitting this roadblock where it goes okay you know if you’re if you’re trying to go in one more time how are you going to do it how you you got to restock the farm system somehow but at the same point you you need to hold on to some guys but those guys that you are holding on to you’re probably overpaying them and they’re not performing what they need to do and there’s so many goddamn holes on this team that in the off season if you actually wanted to compete we need to bring in three to four to five different Bullpen guys we need multiple uh hitters that can actually [ __ ] slug we’d probably need can’t that that’s exactly right so you’re hitting this road block where it’s like how how do you manage to do it I don’t know I don’t know and that’s why again to I was playing a lot of Devil’s Advocate but I really do think the best way to go about this is what Nick’s saying sell them off fire Ross Atkins get a new GM to overlook a cheaper payroll and some younger assets that’s what you have to do but is it going to happen because there’s politics involvement I don’t I don’t know that’s where we got to find out the next two and a half weeks are going to tell us everything folks yeah look it’s always you always flip-flop back and forth on what we want to see happen what what we think should happen with this team and what is actually going to happen and very rarely do those two things connect I will say though that moving forward I think that in the next few weeks we can assuredly all agree you say Kikuchi uh Justin Turner actually Justin Turner was somebody that I wanted to bring up here we we had this this whole graph or this whole diagram not a diagram it’s a graphic gra little gra graphic that we had here uh the other day going through all the players and deciding whether or not they’re going to be uh you know held a possible trade you know uh definitely will get traded Justin Turner for me is is absolutely somebody that you could sell because even though he is not performing at the level that you know he was in April this is actually a wild stat from Justin Turner Justin Turner at age 39 39 years old 39y old Justin Turner is leading MLB in pitches per Place appearance that means that he is seeing on average the most pitches every single time that he steps up into the box and that right there is absolutely valuable folks that is something that maybe it’s not translating to home runs maybe it’s not translating to you know uh ridiculous power anything like that but at the very least every single time this guy steps into the box he is working the pitcher that is something that other teams are going to Value Justin Turner at age 39 is showing patience well I’ll even throw this out there I was looking at June numbers and who’s doing well I mean it is kind of translating to something lately he’s got an Ops of 914 and a batting average of 333 in the month of June and look at that on Bas yeah 465 that comes with patience you work them if you’re working them you’re going to have they’re going to have more opportunities to make mistakes you’re going to get into deeper counts It’s Full Count you know every other at that you know you’re getting to that three and two you can work your walks you can find your way on base and even though the overall season numbers don’t look good if you just remove may this guy’s been probably our second best hitter if not our best hitter next to Vladimir Guerrero Jr yeah like absolutely so I think any smart team that needs a bat knows and understands the value of what Justin Turner brings so next to you SE kakuchi Justin Turner right now is up there for me for the most valuable guy that could be traded Jimmy Garcia we haven’t even seen yet he’s had a little bit of setbacks we got to wait and see maybe after the All-Star break gets a chance but he was supposed to be the next guy up in that he was and also Trevor Richards as well was somebody that we were we were looking at thinking that we could get quite the return for recently there’s been a couple blowups Trevor Richards I mean I don’t think he played yesterday at all uh he’s G to get an opportunity in this Arizona series to to show up and we cannot have any more runs come around on his because his value is starting to dip down quite a bit just like Danny janson’s was and just like you said kikuchi’s was for time before that 13 K uh eding that he recently had but uh he’s got to pick it up as well folks all of those guys though in the next couple weeks trade deadline July 30th it is July 12th today you’re looking at two and a half weeks away I don’t anticipate almost I really don’t see any of those guys maybe Danny Jansen being on the roster in two and a half weeks time yeah things could be changing soon it won’t be happening this weekend instead they’re going to be playing their final series of the first half against the Arizona Diamond Backs which by the way to comment on the us kuchi thing he’s going to be facing the number one offense in the last two weeks of baseball yeah so it’s going to be a tough series for these uh Toronto Blue Jays coming into it guys um it’s scary it’s scary and then after that hopefully we’ll only have like two weeks left until we start selling guys off so hopefully we’ll see some news then listen we we’ve been all in a you know managerial mode right here trading and cutting and Kevin kire and blah blah blah bashet what do we do I don’t know um Blue Jays two Series in a row right and blue jays have actually won two Series in a row that is something that they haven’t done in months I think somebody brought it up that it was in in April last that that they actually did that so we’ve gone down the whole Rabbit Hole of we’re going to sell we’re gonna cut we’re gonna do all this is there any reason to actually be optimistic right now winning two Series in a row San Francisco uh you know now now you’re going to Arizona right if they actually win this series against Arizona well now you’ve won three Series in a row you’re walking into the allstar break you’re getting a little bit of momentum your your guys are starting to get a little hyped up here is there any way that we don’t sell no we’re still selling guys I mean I’m just I’m just looking at this right now in the last seven days where we have been winning those two series um offense is still not that good we’re 14th in Ops better than where we were earlier in the season but we’re still a mid team and now looking over the pitching side of things we are oh goodness where are we oh we’re 26 in Ops in the last 15 days excuse me are winning uh seven days we are the middle right in the middle 16 so we’re mid so our best right now and I think we’re running into a struggling uh San Fran and Seattle Mariner team so it’s like okay we ended up winning four of six because we got some good matchups and we got the right timing there but we’re still a mid team so nothing really here the bullpens and shambles still our offense is literally being carried by Kirk Clement and uh who else was it right now that’s popped up oh Horwitz right now in the LA in that like seven days and of course vlat and Turner but that’s it we you know bobette’s injured bobette’s been terrible um our pitching rotation has been good like the reason why we won too is we got a great start from us kuchi Kevin Gosman and uh the other one which is yel Rodriguez but how often is that going to be happening for us to you know not see the bad part of our Bullpen and have them blow up it’s still not a winning formula for me okay what we sweep what if we sweep we go we sweep Arizona we walk into the All-Star break you’re four games back of 500 yes you are still quite a ways away from that wild card spot we’re not even talking about that we’re just talking about trying to get back to 500 and be a you know an even team right now which they still wouldn’t be if they swept Arizona but four games back of 500 you got 11 games before July 30th after the All-Star break we we looked at the map earlier you’d have 11 more games games um I look I’m not saying that we’re going to be incredible here we’re going to go on some playoff run yeah but that is what it would require yeah we would have to go on a large winning streak to save this season because if you go on a large winning streak then clearly something is more than just luck and good timing it’s clearly we are doing something right we need to go on a large winning streak for me and like we even broke it down like we got to go like nine and two or even 10 and one in in that 11 games following I believe 11 also includes Arizona so it’s even less after the allar break so it’s you’d have to go on an insane run and then clearly something’s clicking but I highly doubt that happens like I I highly doubt well if if they actually did manage to get to a place where it’s two games below 500 now that would that would require a lot everyone that would require a lot that requires a lot more wins than losses here and they’d have to really be falling into some and playing some some better ball cpies but if they are two maybees 500 do you see these Toronto Blue JS still selling or are they going to do one of those things where they just kind of hold they just sit there and they just hold their gu I still think they hold on to the you know the the multiple year contract guys and they just sell off the the guys who are on oneyear contracts I’m looking up right here they still sell though in your opin they still sell because I’m looking up right here the Toronto Blue Jay team back in 2025 that uh if I can actually pull it up here the 2025 what stilled me with a lot of or 2015 excuse me that’s what didn’t stilled me with a lot of confidence well the Blue Jays team pre- allstar game was first in baseball in in offense yeah was first and we were first and we were slugging home runs we were dominating like we were clearly one of the best offensive teams in all of baseball and then when it flash over here what did we need well we did need a lot of help with our with our pitching we ranked 23rd in pitching we go out and you know we had double anas’s last final year he goes out he gets like multiple Bullpen pieces he gets David Price and we start cooking and the offense carried and for me when I look at the Blue Jays team we are not nowhere near a top 15 in anything this year maybe we’re just 15th and starting pitching ER I think I checked that last time but that’s it and that’s not enough for me to even start and going on a big stretch is probably not going to change that that’s the thing like we’re really to to do anything here where you’re not selling or where there is any hope of of playoff playoffs at all right I haven’t even thought about it playoffs in long time months at this long uh it requires a complete turnaround from everyone everything that they have been doing it’s now you do the total opposite and it’s not just one guy or two guys it’s it’s almost everyone on the team right so sure it’s still possible but it requires so so much to happen that is obviously very unlikely however all that being said if you sweep Arizona the fan and me might just be all the way [ __ ] back in might just be look you know I I don’t control him sometimes he he his own brain and if you sweep Arizona when they’re hot and you go four games back at 500 might have to be all the way in well I’m going to want I’m going to want them to continue the the stretch just to like see the miracle run I mean there’s got to be a start somewhere that’s what I’m saying you know what I mean let’s take a look at some of the matchups that we got going on also I saw somebody in the chat earlier saying are you guys going to be live for any of the series how about tonight folks right join us we will be watching tonight’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks first game of the series and then on Sunday everybody tune back in because we’re going to be covering the MLB draft that’s happening Sunday at 7 pm Eastern Standard Time Blue Jays pick 20th or 21st I believe uh something like that so we’re going to see who they draft and who’s going first overall and all that stuff should be very exciting maybe that’s the future of the team we’ve been talking about it maybe they come up relatively soon let’s look at this Arizona Diamondbacks series guys first game you’re GNA have yariel Rodriguez going up against Ryan Greene Nelson um the last three appearances obviously yio Rodriguez has been carrying this team that in in these last three he had a blowup one so the one so the last two he’s only let up one in run over 12 Innings pitch so he’s been phenomenal and then Ryan Nelson or reene Nelson has been okay and looking over here that the total numbers what are we thinking here again like I said number one team in offense in the last two weeks is the Arizona Diamondback so they’re starting to cook and they’re back to 500 they’re trying to get back into this actually saving their season whereas we our way back yeah they’re really pulling something special out here you know they were one of the big disappointments for a little while they were off the top you know make it to the World Series and then just middling start and uh it fell fell back pretty pretty bad and now here they are all the way back to 500 so they are really looking to get on a hot stretch before the trade deadline because if they could get for five games above 500 before then obviously that’s a full in buy for them I think that they want it more they need it more but something about yuel Rodriguez right now is just like making me feel like I can’t bet against him so he’s been looking like a completely different player I know uh like clearly the Diamondback should probably be favorite here and uh I are I totally see them winning more times than not that being said I think I’m going to say yario Rodriguez pulls this one out for Tonto Blue Jays I think so and I’m excited to watch this game with y’all tonight because Yo’s been cooking I haven’t seen the last outings where he was doing very well so I’m very excited to watch this guys um I am going to uh I am going to agree I think the Blue Jays win this one it’s gonna be tight I think it’s going to be a very big pitcher vers batters getting out of jam kind of duel for y Rodriguez because again it is the number one offense but I think yario is going to have it in him to lock it down guys and with that being said this goes right with my bet with betway come on Nick you could do it whoa time for your daily betway breather a quick reminder that the best place to bet is on betway must be 19 years of age or older to play in collaboration with I gaming Ontario please bet responsibly now back to the content shout out to B way everybody being absolutely phenomenal if you want to bet along with us bet on the Jays bet against the Jays bet on anything they are the place to do it you got uh the total hits allow going over I know I am going over guys it’s a weird prediction maybe I’m big braining myself a little bit right here but y r it’s been phenomenal but up against the number one offense in baseball that’s absolutely cooking right now they’ve never faced him before he’s never faced them and I’m thinking like I’m saying I think it’s going to be a pitching duel like it’s going to be like we’re getting guys on but we’re getting out of jams we competing uh I’m going to say they get five hits right here and it is the it is the more likely odds it’s very close uh I’m going to go I’m going to go out in a Lim and say that yeah it happens okay no I I I hear where you’re at right there uh I like it I I do think that Arizona is going to put up we just gota he’s got a pitch out through those jams and then the Toronto bles offense is going to need to come to life which recently they’ve been kind of doing kind of doing uh let’s take a look at game two uh in Arizona everybody who do we got on the bump Jose buos up against Diaz he’s got a 1.5 yearr but barely played is this a opener for them is this a new guy I don’t don’t even know 5Ks this guy’s barely played yeah I don’t know I feel like this could be a an O actually let me I can go check on my phone right here I like this matchup too I feel like that’s scandalous for me to say because you’re looking at one of the hotter teams in baseball here lakina on the bump and a guy that you know really hasn’t played that much granted he did have a good first outing but I’m thinking the Toronto Blue Jays right here could we win that two in a row this guy went six Innings last time out his first start of the Year 5Ks uh that was pretty good very good very good one earned run 23y old I mean they’re not going to be perfect every time they’re 23y old interesting interesting damn do we win this one again I don’t know I don’t know I feel like we’re getting a little too ahead of but you know what [ __ ] it I’m going to I’m thinking that we’re going to win three Series in a row before uh before the allstar break and we’re gonna give fans something to think about we’re gonna give Ross Ain something to think about so I think we’re gonna win this one too that’s going to be a a three- game winning streak for the Toronto Blue Jays uh I’m gonna say uh okay I was kind of very close on the last one I’m gonna say that this one the Diamond Backs do win um and it’s not because of Diaz it’s because BOS it just seems like always feels like in the last few outings he’s had he’s been trying to hang on hang on and then gets blown up right at the end his third time through the lineup and that will be enough cuz his diamond team is going to be hungry for hits it is too bad that Lina’s numbers have dipped to where they’re at right now still a good season like still doing what it is that you’d hope or what you expected of him however you know two months prior we were looking at somebody in the sa young race and that just is not the case anymore you know final game in Arizona everybody uh it is going to be you Kikuchi against Zach gallon now this one is really big for you SE Kikuchi and the Toronto blj as a whole because as we’ve been saying most likely it is going to be a selloff that you say Kikuchi is probably your biggest piece to sell off right now he’s at a four er flat if he can get that thing underneath four be in those threes you know up against a really hot Arizona team puts up a good outing that right there is a very strong argument where you can go hey look he just he just quieted one of the strongest teams in baseball right now and you know was dueling against gallon and did really well that would be great it would be great I don’t know if it’s going to happen yeah they don’t think so gallon great pitcher up against the Jays we know what happens here I’m saying the Dbacks will win this final game and win the series as they should at their own home ballpark on a on a heater right now with offense and for pitching well I I’ll say that we lose this one too because I find a sweep hard to believe however if you’re following along with me I’m saying that we win this series you walk into the All-Star break you won three Series in a row you’re feeling a little something something I still think it’s it’s going to be might might give us something to think about if we win three Series in a row folks yeah it’s uh I’m going to say we’re going on the same Pace we’re going on which is we’re going to be selling and losing and we’re going to have no hope and we’re going to be our hopes all going to be squashed in those final two games I get everybody if you’re looking for some people to watch it with then tune in to Blue Jays today tonight and the MLB draft on Sunday everybody should be a great 1. The KK thing is like what the Angels did with Lucas Giolito, Matt Moore, Reynaldo López, Hunter Renfroe, Randal Grichuk, and Dominic Leone last season.
