[Music] Derek Carr is going to Shu the NFL in 2024 and in today’s video I going to tell you why but before we dive into this I need you guys to do me a favor and be more informed be a smarter Saints fan and understand what’s going on with the team even in the off season July 24th is when training camp is going to get underway for the new New Orleans Saints and we’re going to be getting updates News videos rumors all sorts of coverage for you throughout training camp so be sure to subscribe I might even be out of town on a bachelor trip but I can promise you one thing I’m going to give you Derek Carr I believe that he is going to take a major step in 2024 and I’m not saying like a major step because he’s been bad and this that and the other but I think that he’s going to be successful in this offense and this is a new offense and to be honest Derek Carr understands the complexity and how tough It’s been to learn another new offensive system Carr admitted that it’s been a mental grind to learn this Clint kubak offense and to build off of the success that they found at the end of last season and over the last few weeks Derek Carr absolutely lit it up for the New Orleans Saints now obviously that Rams game did end in a loss however had it end ended in a victory the New Orleans Saints likely would have found themselves in the postseason and I do think that the weeks 13 through 17 Derek Carr was an outstanding quarterback the passer rating of almost 119 overall only two interceptions 14 touchdowns over 1100 yards through the air and the completion percentage was Stellar but that’s not Something That We’re unused to seeing Derek Carr is a pretty good decision maker when it comes to throwing the pill now Carr did speak on the 2024 season and he said I asked myself how can I be better in this first year with the Clint kubak offense and I looked at everything I’m doing and I just tried to take it all to an extreme level of mental capacity hopefully I’m not showing it too much but I’m tired we have been pushing so so hard to make sure we can come out and just be playing good football from the start I don’t have any promises I don’t have any any guarantees that it’s going to be better I just know that we did more and to be honest it’s all you can ask for when you’re coming off of a year when statistically you have the worst play caller in the NFL all you can ask for your team is to prepare more in the off season and to get ready for this new offense and this new system it’s the first time we’ve seen a new offensive System since the Bush Administration so it’s been a long long time and Derek Carr according to offseason reports I’m here to tell you he isn’t showing any issues adapting to yet another offensive coordinator and in his career he’s on what his sixth offensive coordinator and he’s been in the league this is his 11th season so I mean the guy has had no consistency when it comes to play callers dating back to his time with the Raiders so I think that it’s important to one extend Derek Carr a little bit of Grace with this new offense because it will be better it just might take a little bit of time to get it off the ground and Derek Carr spoke about I want to get this team and this offense moving from the start I think that they can do that but I would not be surprised if the first couple of weeks the offense might be a little bit lackluster and not as uh as effective because they’re still trying to incorporate it and make it a normal part of their game day so describe Derek Carr for me in three words or less I want to get down in the comment section and sound off in the comments and I’m going to be replying to a bunch of y’all down below so share your thoughts don’t be a dick just you know if you don’t like Derek Carr say I don’t like Carr and that’s fine but don’t be like don’t tear him up don’t be mean don’t be unnecessary let’s keep this civil and let’s have some uh fun in the comment section and let’s chop it up so I want to make one thing very very clear here for the record I get a lot of hate and I get a lot of backlash saying I’m a Derek Carr hater and I hate the Saints offense and I hate Al first of all I don’t know where any of this stems from um for the record Derek Carr was not a bad quarterback last year he was actually a little bit above average some would argue kind of good in terms of his completion percentage it’s the fifth best in the league The Yards little bit above League average at just under 4,000 the touchdowns were top 10 the interceptions tied for 901 with only eight and the passer rating at a 97.7 was 10th best in the league and this is a player who Not only was productive last year but can build off of that in his second year with the New Orleans Saints with these weapons that they have in Chris olve and in rased Shahed and in Alvin cha tesm Hill like you can really expect Derek Carr to shock the NFL and he has said that he’s bumped up his conditioning and he’s elevated his conditioning throughout the off season in order to get ready for a more mobile and a more in a in in a more athletic type of offense like Derek Carr is not going to just be sitting here in the pocket and throwing the rock he’s going to be moving around he going to be a lot of pre-nap motion he’s going to have play actions so he had to get in shape and he has and he recognizes that so he took care of business there and I really appreciate that from Derek Carr and it’s kind of worth noting and it’s interesting that he’s actually lighter right now in terms of his weight than he was last year so he’s lost some pounds he’s shedded some extra weight to make him a little bit quicker make him maybe a little bit more mobile and I think in that sense it’s a good thing for Derek Carr and in 2023 he did say that he started to feel comfortable in the offense around midseason but obviously things got derailed when he had to miss not miss games but miss halves of football because of injuries and take a lot of hits and stuff so there is a lot that Carr had to deal with including bad play calling and including a lot of injuries and I just will say this in the sense of argu not arguing against but to make an argument that Derek Carr should succeed there’s no shortage of weapons Derek Carr has no excuse to not succeed in this offense sure it’s another offensive coordinator it’s another play calling system but I mean when you have some of the best young talent in Chris o la rased Shahed at Perry kendre Miller but then you also have really good veterans like Tamm Hill like Alvin chimra you brought in Cedric Wilson if the offensive line can hold up I mean you have weapons and you have tools around Derek Carr to succeed and I want to see this offense absolutely take take over in dominate games we are used to as Saints fans seeing the defense take over in dominate football games but I want to see 60 Minutes of really good offensive play I want to see the offense just run all over opposing defenses I want to see him thrown the ball all over the yard and I want to see an explosive high-scoring team because I believe that the Saints have the capability to do it it’s just a matter of the right play calling and the right leadership with coaching and the quarterback so quick quick reminder really fast if you want more Saints videos on now what about Clint kubak because I believe that this is a big part in terms of what the Saints offense needs to do like his offense it has to succeed and it has to work if we want to see the Saints win football games now Derek Carr he has been impressed with how Clint kubak and how his new staff has acclimated players and has gotten players ready with this new offense it’s been a lot of high Pace um drills at OTAs and at mini camp they’ve been getting very active they’re very vocal and they’re fixing issues right at the source and when they see a bad play they fix a bad play and I really really like that from this uh new regime and on top of that he has been available and he’s met with a lot of players including Alvin chra Tamm Hill Derek Carr and a whole lot more that have honestly just not been reported I guarantee you he’s meeting with some of these offensive Leman I guarantee you he’s meeting with some of these other tight ends and these other players and these other backup quarterbacks like I know for a fact that this Saints team respects Clint kubak and Clint kubak is making himself available which is really good news for the Saints and on top of that I think that having a grounded offense will impact the passing game very positively and Clint kubiak’s offensive philosophy he’s said it himself he said we just want to be grounded and run the football we want to have an identity of we can run the ball against eight-man fronts that’s something we’re going to stress to these guys early this off season building our play actions moving the pocket off of that being a real good team on first and second down we’re dialed in on that in phase one in phase two now phase three it’s just a couple of weeks away training camp will get going out in UC Irvine and I expect Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints offense to show at least a little bit of growth I want to see them execute the play actions I want to see them execute the pre-nap motion I want to see that this team is capable of running this Clint kubak offense and that Derek Carr is capable of being the leader of this offense now really quick got to give you a big shout out to Fanatics for around all of this I do think that when it comes to Derek Carr and the conversation of him shocking the NFL that is because I think that Derek Carr has very low or the excuse me the NFL has low expectations not just for Derek Carr but for the Saints offense major media sources ESPN all these large media conglomerates I mean they don’t know what’s happening with the New Orleans Saints like you and I do they aren’t paying attention like Ross Jackson and like John Hendrick like Nick Underhill triplet all those guys they are not watching what this team is doing every single day so of course they’re going to write these players out of course they’re going to write this team out but I do believe that Derek Carr has the tools and has the ability to succeed in 2024 and I think that
