this off season between training camp the first preseason game the second preseason game the third preseason game then after roster Cuts leading up into week one so essentially what I have done here is I’ve put together a quarterback plan that the nation should look forward to and slash what I would personally do with our quarterbacks here so I’ve already seen a few people here rocking with me your onew reaction chugs you watched episode three yesterday I did how would you describe it um one word reaction to I guess episode three for me would be frustration frustration okay cuz you could feel it yeah I Devon is like it’s like just when it’s like where you’re like with somebody and like you know like they make a mistake or whatever and it’s like you’re not like pissed at them but you’re just like frustrated at the situation that get that that gives me how Devonte felt last year I feel like he wasn’t mad yeah he was frustrated he was like I’m not like hating on the Raiders I’m not like you know pissed off at them I’m just mad that we’re in this situation that we’re in right now I felt like Devonte felt like a lot of us fans where we watch you know you see a great player like Devonte you got a great guy like Max Crosby and you’re almost like are we pissing away this opportunity that we have because we have a joke of a head coach we had the worst quarterback play in the NFL last season and it’s kind of like that trickle down effect and the way that I know and I think frustrated is a really good word when you see the frustration at devonte’s face and then you see that the frustration from you know The Adams Family Den the but when you see the frustration in his family from you know his wife to the wife’s grandparents like I think that this is one of those things where it might not come out and say it in the Netflix series we’ll talk about it a little bit today but you could tell frustration was really really boiling over here I already saw somebody say something in the comment section so I might as well just let the cat out of the bag the you know elephant in the room um out of long consideration and long thought around this I have officially decided to commit my 2025 Road to Glory on college football to the north Texas mean green bring it home Baby call call let’s go GMG I will be joining North Texas this season on my NCAA or college Crosby for me now if I go back and I talk to some of my old school like Raider friends my dad you know like my dad’s not a Raider fan but he watched the a lot cuz he was a big baseball fan Bo Jackson comes to mind I think hoe long has to come to mind jimo like the the correct answer legitimately might be Jim utto the Raiders have had a lot a lot of greats there’s no doubt about it to me though I’m I do think I I’m probably going to end up going with Bo Jackson like that’s my favorite Raider of all time because I do truly truly believe if Jackson was able to stay healthy he goes down in the history books as the greatest running back of all time in an era where running back was a lot more important where like you know running backs back at that time were kind of like QBs where teams would trade you know look at the Hershel Walker trade all these pieces and just I talked to so many old school Raider fans and to me Bo Jackson is the greatest athlete of of of all time like I think that that’s how unbelievable he was for you to be able to play baseball at that level and to be able to play in the NFL at that level bonu but does that make him the greatest of all time I don’t know if many plays does Gardner get how many plays does Carter Bradley get how many plays does Anthony Brown get because I do think that the preseason this matchup is a very interesting one and quite frankly I think this is the most in it’s probably the most invested in a pre-season that I have ever been since covering the Raiders yeah I mean cuz it was always Derek we always knew it was going to be DC I know last season what it was but we knew that it was going to be Jimmy garoo this time we have a legit quarterback battle and like when I watch other teams play like if I know that there’s a team that has somewhat of a QB battle I don’t care who it is I usually tune in and those are the preseason games that I watch the fact that it’s actually the Raiders this season man it’s going to be a lot of fun it’s going to be a lot a lot of fun man I I think it’s going to be Aiden to start the first preseason I do because it’s just he has you know more familiarity with the team I I I just think you think so well we’re about to find out Nico Laz said you know what Mitch put me in that duck race niik Laz in I got my guy Carl you in Manuel Luna you in this is off to a good start here off to a good Defensive Player of the Year and Bowers will win offensive rookie of the year unfortunately one of these is never going to happen and the one that’s never going to happen is Brock Bowers winning offensive rookie of the year I do think that Max is a good bet to to win this one he’s probably got like the fifth highest odds right now Christian Wilkins is really really going to help out this defense Mad Max has got to get around 17 sacks I’ve put out multiple videos of why I think Crosby is the best offensive player in the NFL to me if you don’t agree then you didn’t watch the video and you ignore a lot of facts because there’s a lot of facts to be able to back up that number for Bowers winning offensive Rookie of the Year legitimately he’s probably got to go for I’m going to say a 100 catches 2,000 yards and like 15 touchdowns and it it the NFL the MVP award is really ically just a QB award and I know that you’re saying offensive rookie of the year but man we’re talking about jayen Daniels and Caleb Williams right like if Caleb Williams throws for 4,000 yards which has never been done before in Bears history and throws for 20 like 22 touchdowns he wins the MVP over Bowers even if he has yeah a thousand yards and it’s like I feel bad because it’s like there will never be a world where we live in where an offensive lineman will ever win that award like there ‘s a slim possibility like in a you know the year that picket came out where it was just Kenny picket and he wasn’t even a good starter there’s a year like that where it’s like a running back or a wide receiver could win it because Garrett Wilson won it that year yes so it’s like a receiver at some point or a maybe a running back can win the award an offensive line yeah in a in a year where there’s like not many quarterbacks um an offensive lineman will never win the award I I think I think the only way an offensive lineman and I mean this would legitimately have a shot is think about how dominant Trent Williams has been kind of as like a left tackle he’s got to be better than that as a rookie on like a team that has a Patrick Mahomes a Joe burrow he’s got to he’s got to have like a 98 PFF grade and zero sacks allowed yeah I mean he’s it’s got to be something that we’ve never seen before zero sacks zero hurries just blind side every play where he drags the defensive into the stands it it would have to be something that we have never seen before that’s all I’m saying I just don’t see it I mean I’m kind of with you I’m kind of with you um I realize that I owe a boot here so I’m going to him is Adam like is Jamal Adams now like a hybrid safety like we saw with like a Tanner Muse or like a mark Baron or like some some of those safety maybe an Isaiah Palo kind of like a safety linebacker hybrid because he didn’t really play that well with the Seahawks was also injured his entire time in Seattle it seemed like played a lot better with the New York Jets but at this point in his career I wonder where Adams fits in like the Titans already have a really good secondary they have they traded for lerus Sneed they have a couple really good uh Corners already Roger mccre I know is a really good nickel corner I just don’t know where he plays I don’t know if he plays at safety or if they play him at linebacker and I’m actually not certain what their defensive philosophy is going to be this year because was Mike Rael and then they replaced him with an offensive guy so I actually I actually don’t even know who the Titans DC is I’m looking right now at the Titans defense and oh well I typed in Titans DC and it gave me to Teen Titans that’s funny um they have I I’ll say this their other strong safety is names Mike Brown I think that Jamal is going to be a starting strong safety but the way that you have to to be able to use him and I think the reason why they went out and got him is because they do have so much confidence and lerus need to be able to cover a good side of the field they have some decent Corners in this team but this has been a very physical team you got to play Jamal up near the box right like think of and I’m only going to say this because I think it might resonate better with Raider fans he’s like a better version of Jonathan abam right like when the Raiders drafted abam and round one picked 27 in the 2019 draft I was hoping that he could materialize to a player like Jamal Adams somebody that’s just really bad in coverage but can go out there and be a thumper can go out there give you a little bit of Versatility if you know that it’s going to be a potentially running situation but yet you’re at like third down and six or something like that J Jamal was a good leader at one point when he was playing at LSU did maybe just need a little bit of a change scenery and maybe Tennessee is going to be that spot for him but okay I I was trying to figure out he’s got a lot more name value I was trying to figure out where this guy came from he was he was a defensive backs coach with the Jets then he was a defensive backs coach with the Eagles last year was a defensive backs coach with the Ravens okay so I mean three I mean good def decent defenses he he was Jets from 2017 to 2020 okay Eagles was 20 21 to 23 or yeah 21 to I guess 2022 and then last year 2023 was with the Ravens so I’m going to guess the reason why he went there is Jamal was probably I got to sneeze on that Jets team when they drafted he was so there’s your connection I mean you always say you got to look you got to look at the connections connect the dots of coaching staff to players I mean it’s a big thing right like I think a lot of times it gets overblown and especially you know the past two years with McD and just like the whole situation with you know all the old Patriots players but if you’re trying to rebuild something or if you’re trying to build something and Jamal Adams was a player that was very highly regarded I mean he got traded for two first round picks when he went to Seattle and then he ends up going to the Jets or the then he ends up going to the Seahawks and he was bad like you said he was injured all the time he was saying a lot of dumb [ __ ] he was doing a lot of bad stuff off the field I me he had a real Fallout in Seattle now he is going to go back with somebody maybe he’s got a little familiarity with though Nashville is a uh wild City yeah I mean and I don’t know it’s I don’t know what to think of the Titans because obviously brand new head coach will Levis they have some weapons there I I candy where they had a stick and you would stick it in this thing yeah one stick everybody used the same stick you took turns here you go um I actually think that sharing cotton candy would be the last thing I would ever share with somebody Jimmy’s hogging the stick I love you a lot and we do share food where like chugs and I are the Foodies here at the office and we’re always like hey like you got to try this type of stuff I don’t think I’d share cotton candy with anyone unless Alex or Chuck might be the only I think I’m at a point in my life where I don’t think I’ll ever eat cotton candy again I I don’t don’t say that I don’t have any part of my body where like when I see cotton candy I’m like oh I want some of that like I agree with that I just I never want cotton candy I’m like I with everything you said however though if somebody was like here’s cotton candy would you try it you just said you wouldn’t share there’s a like if if you ripped off a piece my like you’re saying the one stick yeah I’m picturing somebody eating that with stick you’re not good I’m not eating all that I’m just with a mustache no chance the other day I ate um I made myself an egg sandwich and my my out there I would have asked I’ll tell you this right now I think that Dak is a better quarterback in a p passing offense compared to Jaylen like I I still don’t think jaylen’s that good of a passer where so it it both are available who are you picking same price point both on the free agency market you’re like you can both aren’t the same price point you’re you would inherit Jaylen Herz with his contract I’m saying for some reason the Eagles cut jayen Herz after this season D and Dak is a free agent both on the free agent Market both want like $60 million a year Christ if I got to pay a quarterback 60 million a year I will take Dak over Jaylen just because I think Dak is the better passer than jayen Herz however though if you were to tell me based on the offense that we have right now I actually think jayen Herz would be a better fit for our offense and the only reason why that I say that it would hurt devonte’s production I’m not going to lie like I think if you trade it for a guy like Jaylen Herz I don’t know if Devonte is going to hang around just because he’s not going to be able to put up the numbers I think you’re hoping I don’t know AJ Brown though AJ Brown had really good numbers and I’m not going to discredit that but it’s like if I got to pay a QB that much money then am I still going to be able to pay Devonte you know $44 million per year but with the 12 personnel with a physical running game with a guy like zamir white from top to bottom all right that would be tough we got the new guy here uhoh Mr Goldman what’s up Raiders Nation how you guys doing below next thing is at this point the Raiders are one and three on the season okay and they’re getting ready to prep for Monday night football against the Green Bay Packers and it’s a big story because that’s the ‘s old team as we all know and I can remember sitting getting ready for this Monday Night Football game and I remember talking to my dad before the game started I was like Dad if they go one and four I don’t know what I am about to do today right like I’m going to lose my mind one of the things that I thought was really funny leading up to this game because Devonte has been kind of dealing with this like AC joint injury which he sustained in episode 2 which if you remember was up against the Chargers in that week four game he said that he played cornhole and that cornhole was good for his rehab so like if there’s anybody out there you got an injured shoulder and your wife’s like honey why are you playing cornhole hey if it’s good enough for Devonte Adams it’s probably good enough for all of y’all too so if you got an injured shoulder I’m just loosening up my arm like the E60 kid so next thing that happened here in the episode three was Devonte ended up saying that the last time that he heard his AC joint was back in 2018 with the Green Bay Packers and he thought that this Pas time that he BW blew out his shoulder so like for anybody that’s ever sustained an injury maybe you played Sports I used to play baseball I can remember a few times like I hurt my right knee I I blew out my MCL and I remember being like oh [ __ ] that really hurt but the difference between that to my left knee when I blew out my ACL meniscus and all the other L’s in there on your left knee that was a very very big difference for me so I really resonated with what Devonte had to say there also he talked about like the breakup right when the Raiders traded for Devonte Adams every everybody was like oh man like this is such a big deal Devonte flat out said the breakup with him and the Packers was not nearly as big of a deal as what a lot of people out there thought it was coming up next here what happens next in the episode gave me chills and it was insane and I can remember when it happened in actual like real Lifetime and it’s something that quite frankly I will never forget and I’ll tell you what that is in just a moment but I got to give a shout it takes me back to like even like when the Raiders you know fired Josh McDaniels those two days for me are probably the two best days I’ve ever had here at chat sports and I went live for when the got introduced for the Raider said that he was watching a show on YouTube where they were going completely ballistic they were going completely insane I know that there’s a lot of content creators out take a little bit of an L on this one because I always said I was like no he wants to be a Raider DC was a big part but I never realized how big of a part it was until like you actually hear it from Devon’s mouth and then you hear it there on that Netflix show next thing that happened is this um Devonte kind of goes and talks about everything he was hoping for when he got traded to the silver and black was really just hoping that you know it all went better and if you guys remember that year like I do I can remember going out to California I can remember hanging out with my guy Diana he watched the show here pretty often and just all the expectations I mean I thought this team was winning 10 11 not 10 11 12 13 games and that first year with Josh McDaniel definitely did not go the way that it was planned and after the whole benching of Derek Carr week 17 you know Jared St him gets those final two starts then Devonte starts talking about Jimmy Garoppolo and how Garoppolo is filling in for DC and you want to talk about one of the worst days here at chat sports when the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels and then when the Raiders officially signed Jimmy garoppo I flat out on the show said it’s never going to work why because Jimmy Garoppolo was the terrible quarterback and he still is a terrible quarterback and it was tough you know for Devonte to get on that same page with Jimmy G you’re learning a brand new offense you’re learning a brand new quarterback you’re learning all these new things and because garoo was hurt during ota’s shocker it really I think slowed down the Raiders offense it really slowed down devonte’s chemistry and chemistry for a quarterback and a wide receiver especially when you’re a route technician like Devonte is that means a lot of stuff and I don’t care what y’all say people made fun of me last season people made fun of chugs and I and I was like I can out throw a football further than Jimmy Garoppolo you could tell Devonte Adams at practice was clearly clearly frustrated with how bad Jimmy G was because garoo was horrible he was the worst starting quarterback in the NFL last season and quite frankly it was not even close and you could see it at practice and if Devonte is that frustrated in the month of June at practice July not good man then it jumps all the way to week five Monday night football versus the Packers and this is kind of like the big big part of the show that I was really interested in because again Devonte facing his former team one of the really cool Parts which I think just speaks volumes of the type of person Devonte is is Matt lefl head coach of the um Green Bay Packers goes up to Devonte and he says my kid said make sure the very first thing that you do is that you say that we say hello to Devonte Adams and I think that that was a really special moment because again not for for kids to make that type of connection with a player that’s no longer on the team that just goes to show the type of person that tay is then the next thing that it jumps to in the series on Netflix is Quay Walker Who funny enough was one of the players that technically was a part of that trade when the Raiders acquired Devonte pushes him out of bounds and remember Taye HT his shoulder in the previous episode week four against the Chargers and then he said that when he got pushed out of bounds by Quay Walker his shoulder hurt more in that moment than it did last week which very eye popping thing because you know it’s not really something that we heard or talked that much about because Devonte didn’t disclose it and you knew McDaniels and zagler weren’t going to disclose it so then one of the things that they were saying was like trying to get Devonte a little bit more involved in the offense and Tay just kept saying like I can’t believe I’m not getting the football and he was upset that you’re losing a football game and he’s only got one target I remember talking to Alex about this last night when I was watching it and she’s like well why would he be upset and I was like well when your best player on offense has only got one opportunity to make a play that makes him upset especially against his former team and then Devonte Adams said if we lose this game and I only have one target I am going to be very mad especially against my old team people might take that as him being selfish I would say put yourself in the vonte Adam shoes be a normal human being for once think about this you’re out on a date with your girlfriend with your wife with your fiance and you see your other significant other you’re telling me in that certain situation you don’t want to look like you’re at your absolute best you want to show her him that they made the wrong choice or that you’re doing better that’s what Devonte Adams is doing there he’s being a normal human being of course he wanted to play well against his old team against his old friends against his old teammates I’ll tell you this right now if I ever got another job at anywhere else at chat sports I would want to show chat sports that you know what I’m doing better because it’s just a normal thing to want that Adams then after the Packers game you could see how just upset he was and the Raiders won they won 17 to 13 but like thinking about that game from top to bottom they won that game because of the defense they won that game because Jordan love was absolute booty cheeks and pay was frustrated one of the things that I thought was interesting and when all the cameras are in devonte’s face after the game you can see how upset he is and then they pan over Debo Samuel he’s getting like worked on he’s getting like something with his shoulder and uh Debo literally says out loud oh [ __ ] is Devonte trying to get traded because you know Devonte was frustrated he was upset and you don’t always see that type of frustration after a win especially from a captain because you know it’s not something that happens but it’s one of the reasons why I respect Devonte because I listen to Media I want to listen to people talk and give me their truth I don’t want to sit up there and listen to Josh McDaniel’s um [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] and everything that he says I don’t believe I would rather you tell me something that’s hard for me to hear if it’s honest than for you to tell me something that I want to hear if it’s not true Devon’s always been honest with the nation then it jumps all the way to week six versus the New England Patriots Josh McDaniel’s favorite team and this was another very interesting part in the show I thought simply because I knew how this game went right and when you follow it along as well as we have it’s been an interesting thing watching the episodes and always thinking like all right how was like the season going how were our watch parties going how was the nation feeling and we’ll keep on taking a little bit more of a deep dive into this week six vers the Patriots but I do want to tell everybody if you want to hang out with me and potentially chugs he’s still a little bit on the fence he might visit his family down in Houston but for those you don’t know there’s a lot of up so I want to be able to hang out with the nation right before training camp got started just saying there might there’s not going to be any Raiders players there there might be some Raiders players parents there is all I’m going to say hopefully you pull up hopefully you have a good time I’d love to see you there all right we’re going to keep rolling here on our Netflix series takeaway Devonte gets hurt from a bad Jimmy garoo throw and this was one of those plays again where you know throws up the ball and Devonte Devonte is not the one that gets hurt it’s Jimmy G so Devonte is going down the field has a beautiful route makes a guy Miss garoa throws up a duck like he usually does and he ended up hurting his back which soon as that happened then now it’s the oh no this is the spot where he gets smoked okay okay so this is the one where he’s coming across it’s like a slant garoo throws it just a little bit behind him he bobbles it for a second and then dude gets absolutely smoked I want to say it was by jabril Peppers was the one that ended up making the hip yeah yeah yeah yeah no he’s right um then tae’s wife said this is where I knew for a fact that Devon’s frustration was really really boiling over to a point where cuz I know if I’m upset about something I’ll go home and I’ll vent to Alex my fiance I’ll talk to her about it the fact that Devonte gets popped the way that he did against rril Preppers again you got to remember the week before that AC joint problem bad throw by Aiden oconnell this time bad throw by Jimmy garoo and now taas hert again tae’s wife said that her grandmother texted her and said he has to get out of Vegas he’s going to lose his life then they paned Devonte Adams on the sidelines after the hit and he goes I got to get the out of here before I lose my life so the fact that not only Grandma texted to lose his life part then Devonte said I’m going to lose my life part there’s no way that they could have had communication my point is after that week four game against the Chargers Devonte had to use these words and then his wife had to tell her family that Devonte is just kind of getting frustrated with how bad he’s getting hit how often he’s getting hit because the quarterback play for the Raiders Jimmy garoo and lonnell at the time was horrendous and putting him on they were trying to get him not trying to get him injured but I can remember sitting up here on the show saying they’re throwing Hospital balls when the ball flutters and the defense has a second to react and you’re throwing it behind them those are what known as Hospital balls and I’ll say this and this is going to be an unpopular take for the nation and hopefully it is what it is but seeing how frustrated Devonte Adams is in this Netflix series because if you’re watching it he’s pissed like you can tell he’s very upset with how bad the Raiders quarterback play is if the Raiders struggle again this year with their quarterback play and I’m not even saying to me there’s no way that it’s going to be as bad as what it was last year it can’t be as bad as what it was last year but if like Aidan o Connell and Gardner muu are both like in the bottom like five 10 QBs in the league and it’s really really frustrating I will start to get nervous that Devonte might actually want out because it’s not just going to come from him it’s going to come from his wife it’s going to come from his family based off of what I have seen a Netflix receiver but I’m just hoping that he never leaves the silver and black cuz I don’t want T to leave next clip then is Devonte running I mean a Devonte Adams route right like a route that you’re going to show your kid you’re like hey this is how you run a go he runs a beautiful go the problem is Jimmy G can’t do anything throws a freaking duck up into the air misses some horrendous this is what I was talking about earlier that I kind of effed up on and then Jimmy takes a little bit of a hit hurts his back he’s unable to return if anybody out there thought that garoo was going to be able to play every game this season I got beautiful beachfront property in Montana next to Buddy bear that I think that you guys would really really like then Brian Hoyer comes in and yeah I got to I got to give Brian at times a little bit of credit because Hoyer knows who he is and he knows he’s not a good quarterback in the NF he takes over and he throws a ball into the end zone to Devonte and there’s always that saying you got to give your guy a shot especially if it’s Devonte you got to give him a shot he throws the ball in the end zone and it’s like 10 yards over devonte’s head and Hoyer immediately goes to the sidelines and he’s talking to Devonte and he’s like apologizing he’s trying to tell him like dude hey man if you get a one-on-one opportunity like I’m going to throw you the football Devonte the entire time handled it well but you could see in the way that he was responding he’s like all right bro just get out of my face you’re a terrible quarterback Devonte and his wife then they’re clearly frustrated with the play and Devonte then like ends up going to say like you know I’m one of the best receivers of all time very upset but Hoyer did say and this is the part where I do give Hoyer a little bit of credit he literally told Devon he’s like bro every time you get single coverage I’m throwing you the football which every time if you’re if I’m Brian Hoyer I’m going to throw Devonte the ball every time I get single coverage then Adams goes on to say I got three touchdowns this season we’re in week six at this point he said that he’s fifth all time and that’s embarrassing I’m not going to lie when I heard him say that the light bulb went out of my mind and I was like is Devonte Adams really fifth all time in receiving touchdowns I I I actually was like there’s no way possible so when I got to work this morning I looked it up for those you that do not know Devonte is 12th all time with receiving touchdowns he’s got 95 for his career if you’re wondering who are some of the other players there is a raider in the top 10 list at least the Tim Brown So Tay is 12th with 95 he’s going to end up getting into this top 10 list now the only other active player that’s even close to him is Mike Evans and he’s also got 94 touchdowns so very close to him neck and neck devonte’s point is this it’s basically like hey man I’m one of the best in the biz when it comes to scoring touchdowns how am I not getting more targets how am I not getting more opportunities how am I at just not getting a better football thrown to me and one of the big takeaways was at Adam said that it doesn’t make sense how talented that the Raiders were and they can’t score 20 points cuz if you remember last year the Raiders struggled to put up 20 and then in that Patriots game they ended up getting a safety and it was the very very first time that they scored 20 points and realistically to me it’s not surprising you know why it’s not surprising right there and I don’t like to be the I Told You So guy but I don’t think that there was another person that does Raiders content I don’t think there was another person in the NFL media I don’t think that there was another person alive and if there was quite frankly I’d love to meet you because I was I think the leader the CEO the president of the you got to fire the clown you got to get rid of Josh McDaniels but you could just see how just upset Raiders players were and we knew this offense was talented I get the quarterback play was bad but the offense was talented you spent the second most money on the offensive side of the football and yet you could not score why because of the clown one last time can I get some f Josh McDaniels down below keeping it rolling here the Raiders did win the game but I can remember the story very clearly cuz ta only ended up having two catches and he was upset and he then went on to say like that he doesn’t look at wins and losses but he looks at greatness I do have the quote here that I’ll be able to show you because I can remember when this happened everybody lost their mind and I did too because I’m a normal person when I see something I’m like oh man I’m an instant thinker right I’m I’m going to say exactly how I feel but then when you go back and you actually look at the quote I have a very different answer now than I originally did and I’m not afraid to admit that here’s what Devonte Adams said after a win versus the Patriots week six in 2023 I’m sure people are thinking well they won the game they won the Packers game why is there an issue I mean you see why it’s an issue y’all know who I am and y’all know what I’m about out at this point when you’re a player like me mentally my Benchmark is not wins and losses it’s greatness when I go out there I expect to be able to have the that ability to put that on tape and have an influence on the game the reason why that I think that he said that and I kind of agree with them is I think he’s saying like sure they won the game but like as a Raider fan when you watch them beat the Packers and you watch them beat the New England Patriots you’re like we won just win baby all good you’re like that’s kind of an ugly win and when you’re talking about Devonte Adams he knows like which I think everybody agrees here this is like would you rather have Devonte Adams have 10 targets or two Targets right like I think the more you target Devonte Adams probably the more better that your offense is going to end up doing but when you talk about greatness when you talk about Devonte a guy that has never won a Super Bowl ring he can look at that game and go yes we did win that game and it’s awesome that we won the game but like you can’t always just look at it wins and losses if I’m Devonte I’m looking at it at Super Bowls I came to the Raiders I want to finish my career with a Super Bowl ring and yes we won but if we play like that we ain’t winning a Super Bowl so if you’re going to judge it based on greatness to him he’s like we want to win a Super Bowl I got to be involved and until that happens I don’t think we’re going to win a Super Bowl therefore I feel like I’m wasting my time that’s how Devonte Adams felt in my personal opinion so here we go I want you guys the great episode three of the Netflix series receiver give me an ABC D ORF Down Below on episode 1 and two I gave it a d because I don’t see how you can do a show called receiver and I have Justin Jefferson and Devonte Adams in episode one in terms of episode three I’m going to go ahead and give this one an a grade I love the episode from start to finish you got to see every single receiver which I loved and then on top of that it is a lot of Devonte Adams and spoiler alert episode 4 you can already see that they’re getting ready to start about Devonte with the amount of drama that has happened around the Raiders with McDaniels I also like it because the amount of I’ll be real the amount of horrible things that people said to me last year when I was like I had multiple Raiders players tell me that they are not happy with McDaniels and they want him fired you can already see the frustration in Devon’s eyes boiling from July August September October and now we’re starting to get to that point where we all know he’s about to get fired the Clown’s about to get fired but when you got a guy like Devonte who is just such a good dude such a an rockar of a player when you see him getting as mad as what he’s getting after a win I think it just goes to show that there were so many Raiders players that were upset I know what the beat reporters were reporting I know what everyone was saying but I also know breaking the ball down of the exact way I think Antonio Pearson Tom Tesco should do their quarterback battle entering training camp coming up here on today’s show I’m going to tell you what I believe the Raiders quarterback situation should look like this off season leading up to week one I know Antonio Pierce Tom Tesco they got a tough decision to make is the Aiden oconnell going to be the starting quarterback is Gardner mchu going to be the starting quarterback but you know what I do want to see a good battle and I think the best way to be able to settle that battle is the plan that I’m going to be revealing to all of you today so the way that I’m going to do this is I’m going to break it down from now until that week one game against the Chargers and for those that do not know tell you how many quarters I want Aiden and Gardner to play I want to tell you how many quarters I want Carter Bradley and Anthony Brown to play my point is I don’t care who the starting quarterback of the Raiders is I want the guy that gives us the best chance to win football games and the only way that you’re going to do that is by sticking to this plan that I’m going break down right here the we’re going to wake work our way through the pre-season the way that I would handle training camp is this I’m going to have a no Connell he’s going to take the first snap why because there’s no way that you’re getting enough reps in May there’s no way you’re getting enough reps in June especially we two practices in June like to me if a o Connell walked in on May as your qb1 he’s still your qb1 that’s the guy you give your first snap it’s his job to lose then the way that I would break the snaps down is you’re going to split reps with aan L conell for Gardner mchu I would almost think of it as like the way that like the GM head coach work right like I’m going to give if I got 100 snaps I’m going to give 51 to Aiden I’m going to give 49 to Gardner muu and then Carter Bradley and Anthony Brown they’re going to compete for that qb3 battle which I do actually think is going to be a fun battle for like the the diard Raider fans the real ones out there because we got a lot of QB battles going down will it be the udfa or will it be Anthony Brown Next thing that we’re going to break down here is the way that I think that the Raiders should handle their preseason week one game against the Minnesota Vikings this game is going to be on August 10th and I’m really excited for this one to go down my family is going to be watching this one so please I hope the nation ends up showing up for this one my grandfather and fortunately he passed away so where I got most of these tattoos are for him his birthday was on August 11th so I know for a fact this game is going to be a big one for the ren family but when you think about the preseason week one game against the Minnesota Vikings okay there’s a lot of questions out there because sometimes you’re starting quarterback doesn’t end up starting in the preseason well what I want to know from the nation is this who starts the pre-season week one game against the Vikings if it’s Gardner muu type GM if if you think it’s going to be Aiden oconnell type AOC if you think it’s going to be Carter Bradley give me a CB if you’re going to roll with Anthony Brown I want you to type AB quite frankly to me there’s only one way that you can go with this one and it has to be Aiden no Connell in fact the only way Aiden doesn’t start the first preseason game is he if if he’s like atrocious at training camp right and if Gardner Min you is just unbelievable but to me I’m putting Aiden in and I want to see what he has to do do the first half I’m not one drive not two drives if we have a legit quarterback battle let’s let them go out there and let’s let them let’s let them compete especially against the Minnesota Vikings team that quite frankly I think that they’re going to do the exact same thing what I would do then is no disrespect to Carter Bradley no disrespect to Anthony Brown we are adults here and the job is to just win baby the job is to put the best product out there on the field I’m letting Aiden play the entire first half I’m letting Garder MIT you play the entire second half why am I doing that because we have to figure out what the quarterback battle is in practice is important training camp is important I’m not trying to get away from it but at the end of the day I would rather have a player who shows up on Game Day who’s not as good in practice if Aidan’s bad in practice but he’s great in the games I want Aiden o conell to start if Gardner muu is the exact opposite I’m still going to roll with Aiden here and it’s to me I know that PR season a lot of times to get to work with some of those other players to me though the biggest question mark that I got right now as a Raider fan is is it going to be Aiden is going to be Garner muu why not let them go out there get extra reps in a brand new offense with Luke getsy with brand new players that they’re all around more reps is what I want the other reason why I like this idea is again is cuz I think the Vikings are going to try to do the exact same thing because they’re kind of dealing with a very similar situation they got a quarterback battle with Sam darnold and JJ McCarthy out of all the games that we’re going to watch in the preseason season I think that this Vikings game could actually be one of the ones that’s like the closest to a real life NFL game because the Vikings want to figure out who they’re going to start at quarterback and why I’m okay with rolling with Gardner as long as I am because it’s still going to be a real life football situation because who’s going to start for the Vikings Darnell or JJ McCarthy it’s split just like AOC and GM let’s go to the next game here pre season week 2 game versus the Dallas Cowboys which for me this is a this one hits home right ch I live down in Dallas I’m surrounded by Cowboys fans and I can’t stand Cowboys fans my fiance Cowboys fan my fiance’s family Cowboys fans but you know what I’ll still always hold on to that Thanksgiving Day game man that one just hit different but this is a big big game for me and for anybody out there that lives in the Dallas area the DFW area I’m doing a Raiders meet up on Saturday July 20th at 1:00 p.m. here’s the address if you’re trying to just pull up we’re going to have food we’re going to have some drinks hopefully you guys have a good time I can’t confirm but there’s a chance that a uh Raiders players mchu and he gets the start and he’s going to play the entire first half then I’m GNA have aan oconnell play the entire second half sorry again to Carter Bradley sorry again to Anthony Brown if this is about what is the most important which is figuring out our quarterback competition that I’m going to let those guys go out there and do it Dak ain’t playing dak’s not playing in the preseason now usually with the new preseason rules when it was the fourth when it was four preseason games the third one was the game that usually the starters played the most now with the the way that the preseason has gone it’s that second game was where you usually get to see a little bit more of those starters for the Cowboys they also have a quarterback battle and it’s going to be a battle that they want to see Cooper Rush Trey Lance a quarterback that they’re trying to see so just like we talked about with the Minnesota Vikings I could still think that you’re going to see a very competitive game where both quarterbacks for the Raiders they’re going to learn a lot about each other then the final game preseason week three game August 27th it’s on a Friday against the San Francisco 49ers this one’s also at a legion Stadium the way that I’m doing this one is this okay whoever plays better between AOC and Gardner muu they get a start I’m putting them in for a drive and if it’s Aiden he wins the job and on that first drive he leads a touchdown drive you take him out immediately and you go hell of a job Aiden if he struggles a little bit on that first drive you go okay let’s give him another drive I’m giving them two drives I’m giving Aiden two drives and then I say do the exact same thing with Gardner muu if Gardner muu is better you put him in the first drive my point is I’m giving them two extra drive to just get a little bit of extra work let’s say that that’s the first quarter that’s probably what it’ll be first quarter maybe you bleed in a little bit to the second quarter and then you let Carter Bradley you let Anthony Brown play the remainder of the game my guess is that 75% that’s how I would break it up which then leads us to this one cuz after three preseason games remember cut day is August 27th at 400 p.m Eastern Time teams got to go from 91 for the Raiders all the way down to 53 we’re technically allowed to keep 54 because of David agoa he’s the international pathway program player so what’s the Raiders plan going to be for week one against the Chargers and this you know you might be able to tip the cap here a little bit we’ll see what the Raiders end up doing I actually don’t think it’s impossible that you name both Gardner and Aiden the potential Captain I’m not naming a starting quarterback unless it’s a clear winner you know what I mean where it’s like this guy’s clearly been the best guy he’s got to be the guy he’s earned that right if it’s the battle that I think it’s going to be which quite frankly I think the quarterback battle between Gardner and Aiden is going to be neck and neck the entire time it’s going to be like a duck race right we’re not going to know who’s going to win but I’m not naming that starting quarterback until I absolutely positively have to why I want to make Jim Harbaugh in an NFL game for the first time in a very long time I want to make our division rival prep for both QBs I want them to prep for AOC I want them to prep for Gardner why two totally different quarterbacks and I think it gives us a competitive advantage and I’m trying to get a competitive Advantage every single day of the week right so at the end of the day man like I want the Raiders to do this I know that it might be difficult because when you name a captain if Aiden’s a captain and Gardner’s not a captain my mindset instantly going to go to you know what Aiden’s the starting quarterback but I’ll also say this if you were to tell me one situation in the NFL right now that a quarterback who’s not the starting quarterback is a captain and the guy that’s not the captain is the starter I think it’s the Las Vegas Raiders and I think that they can use that a little bit to their advantage because I think the quarterback that’s the most deserving of to be a captain it’s Aidan lonnell not Gardner so in conclusion here we do have a legit quarterback battle and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds and to me that’s how we have to figure figed out what Antonio Pierce Tom Tesco need to do from here on out is figure out who that quarterback is because we got a brand new offense we can’t have another struggling year like we did last season and I don’t care how long it takes whoever plays the best it’s your job I don’t care what if Carter Bradley plays the best put him in starting quarterback training camp is important but preseason games to me are more important that old Allan Iverson right practice we’re talking about practice practice is important but playing is what’s most important I think for the Raiders you also got to satisfy Devonte Adams you got to make sure that he’s a happy individual especially for those of you’all been watching that Netflix series he has not been happy with the quarterback play you got to make sure that that’s the guy that he wants and that he’s happy and the way that I think Devonte is going to Care the way that I’m going to Care is this the way that you play if you’re better in the game you deserve to start and I mean this is exactly what Devonte Adams had to say on the Raiders quarterback battle I want whoever’s going to look the best when it’s time when it’s live bullets so at the end of the day I don’t have a preference other than the fact that I want somebody that’s confident and ready to go when it’s time to do it so whoever that is that’s who I want throwing the ball you know what man the [ __ ] that Devon’s had to deal with that quarterback the [ __ ] that we’ve had to deal with from head coach quarterback play last season with how good this defense is I agree with Devonte I want live bullets I want the guy that’s been the best in the preseason if that’s the closest thing we got then that’s how we’re going to settle this
