  1. – Bub is special, man… Unbelievable first game for an 18 year old. Pure shooting form with great body control. Maturity and composure to know when to push the pace and when to bring the ball up slowly. Let’s just hope he gets a solid 20ish minutes per game once the regular season rolls around

    – Champagnie looked strong, like someone who definitely deserves to be on an NBA roster

    – Omoruyi, for as hard as he works, doesn’t have enough to his game to really warrant a roster spot

    – Sarr did some good things. Defensively, he makes a massive impact. I don’t expect him to create his own shot often, but with better players around him, he shouldn’t have to. He should be able to focus on running the floor, cutting to the basket, and occasionally hitting outside shots

    – Call me crazy, but I still think Johnny Davis is good enough to be on a 15-man roster. Obviously he’s not great, but at the very least it would help our tank to give him some minutes lmao. That being said… if I had to choose one of Davis, Champagnie, and Bernard, I would probably pick Champagnie

    – Kyshawn George grew into the game nicely. Doesn’t seem to be extremely dynamic, but he’s athletic enough and I really like his composure/decision-making. He dribbles with his head up and sees open teammates. He’s also tall enough to see over other guards

    – Will Dawkins is smooth as silk. Happy to have him leading our roster building

    Allez les ouizards

  2. Thoughts on this game for each rookie

    Sarr:

    * He really does not play like he’s 7ft. I appreciate his shooting potential but he has Ayton Syndrome where he’s afraid to go to the rim. His insistence that he’s a PF has me worried.

    * Shot was good today. When he’s shooting like this you can definitely see the upside.

    * Besides the sequence with his 3 blocks he looked pretty lost on D. Didn’t know where to go after blitzes over screens, did not close out on 3s well, slow to rotate.

    * Very poor screener. This comes back to playing smaller than he is. He is not a physical player.

    * Low activity boxing out and rebounding.

    * Passing/court vision is much better than expected.

    Bub:

    * Great defensive intensity. When he’s locked in he is a demon. Love the rebounding.

    * Smooth jumper. I want him to get more midrange shots. He’s a huge threat coming off screens.

    * Great passing. Nothing fancy so far but all very functional.

    * I see the struggles with his burst. He has a lot of trouble getting to the rim against NBA athletes.

    Kyshawn:

    * I don’t care what he shot in college. His shooting form is UG-LEE. Bad misses.

    * I like his hustle on defense. Good length and lateral quickness.

    * Handle is… ehhhhhhhhh. I don’t think he should be handling the ball as much as he did.

    * Some decent passing, I like his upside as a connective playmaker.

    * His movement off the inbounds at the end of the game was awesome, really good awareness.

  3. BUB CARRINGTON IS MY GOAT H2P

Also I heavily f w Sarr, George, and Champaignie after that game

  4. I been trying to tell y’all bout these rooks man. I know it’s early, but they’re talented. Wiz future looking bright

  5. I’m calling it now. Bub is going to be an all-star in this league.

  6. Well I have to say that our Rookies looked pretty damn good as the game progressed. Bub, Sarr, and George all had moments where they shined and won us the game. Give Champagnie and JD their flowers cause they were solid in their roles and have progressed in their own right. Replace Omoruyi with Vuk and that’s a pretty good looking SL team

  7. The first quarter was brutal but a great showing from Bub and Sarr. Bub is fantastic as a PG and Sarr’s defensive impact is instantaneous but still needs to work on offense and rebounding. George looked solid but needs to Improve the most. Great turnaround after a shitty first.

Geno gotta go and JD had that one clutch 3…

  8. Sarr is such a strange prospect lol his best attribute tonight was honestly his passing. Looked a little weaker on defense than i was expecting but the upside on both ends is palpable

  9. so much to like from all of these rooks man, obviously they’re not perfect but i’m just excited to watch them develop

  10. We had 1000 comments in a summer league game thread. Bub looked fantastic for a first game as an 18 year old. He’s special. Sarr didn’t press after not doing much at first and I respect that. The job is to learn and get better, not kill yourself trying to win a summer league game.

But we won anyway, thanks to Sarr and Bub’s defense, timely 3s and sharing the ball, and not doing dumb stuff at the end aside from the 2 airballed 3s.

Dawkins’ interview was great and the vibes remain immaculate around this team. The Kybusarr era has begun and I’m loving it!

  11. Lots to look forward to man. Gotta bring Poole off the bench and start Bub fr. Look to move Kuz as soon as we can. Gotta tank this year and just let these dogs develop. Man am I so excited to watch.

  12. Start bub. Sarr has it all. More reps he gonna be nice. Just learn the game a bit more and conditioning

  13. Where is my guy having a full on panic attack after watching three minutes of the first quarter at?

  14. Really excited to see the rooks play with real NBA guys like Baldwin, Butler, Vuk. All three would look better without guys Geno and Davis clogging up the flow of the game

  15. Shoutout Bub🫡Near triple Double in your SL debut.

I see you with the blocks Sarr!

  16. I’m overreacting, but I could see someday just Deni for Bub straight up looking like a win for us and we got other assets besides.

  17. Man, I know its just SL but those 2 sequences between all 3 of the draft picks were exciting as hell lol. The block from Sarr leading to the outlet pass from Bub to George on the break was SO SMOOTH. Sarr’s shot blocking leapt off the screen, as did his shooting mechanics. George looked better after getting more comfortable and made the right plays on both ends, definitely lacks some burst yet I can see the vision. But oh my goodness, Bub. What a player, at only 18 too just everywhere tonight. Leading the team in points, rebounds, and assists while also working hard on defense with fast feet and great vision to get active in help. His effort was giving me shades of Westbrook, got that dog in im for sure. Also shout out Champaignie of course with the efficiency, looked a lot better than I expected I need to pay him some more attention

  18. Bub was a great draft pick! His pace and feel for the game are super high for an 18 year old. We got one!!!
