welcome back to my ab Daily News Today I want to talk about my top 10 mon Canadian Prospect my only can be at the full time and the r for joshu on my Prospect because he not a full player play only 23 game and last year was a call up from the Laval roet is still eligible to be on the as a rookie of the year in the NHL for upcoming season this I put Joshua inside of my top 10 Montreal Prospect my number 10 Oliver cap dra in 2021 64 overall pick Center 61 1883 pounds sh on the right ke played the last two year in the Lega League at 34 point last year and 51 game with 14 goal and 20 assist ke have an amazing great second half of the year with 14 point and 13 game in the playoff and also add six more go at the world championship with a 10 Finland ke for me is ice ceiling with m is bottom six third line and it could become more a Winger I believe in NHL and finally the worst for him he will be a forline laner in NHL now ke for me what I like is really great playmaker player on the I does not shy to go in front the net and by the way he scor many goal when he tip the pocket and from the shot from the Blue Line example capan also is a great Center as the defensive side of the game is a great 200 feet players K could play on both side of the special team power play or as a PK K could be a great asset at long term for the Montreal Canadian my number 10 Oliver Capen now let’s jump in about my number nine for the monan top prospect and my number nine is Adan angstrom draft 92 overall pick and 2022 P can use great left defenseman 6 to 190 pounds angstrom played the last two year and shl at 22 Point 51 game with four goal 18 assist angrum sign is and contract coule weeks ago he’s going to join the main cam on the monal Canadian in September anrom will start this season I believe with the Laval roet what do you like about anrom my i setting for him is a second pairing defenseman in NHL and it could become also a third pair ring when I see anrom I see an Adam Larson wow that’s a big statement coach yes it is angstrom like to carry on the park like to have some kind of offensive side of the game but it’s so great great on the defenses side of this game with shutdown one versus one or he win a lot of battle by the way he put his position of es skaing and is sick in front of him so angstrom is going to start like I said next year with the Laval roet it is my number nine my number eight for the motan top 10 but be is Owen Beck wow Beck eight coach is not higher guys you go to realize you have a lot of big name in front of Owen Becka draft 33 overall pick in 2022 Beck he was the MVP of the last midal cup and CHL Beck has 80 point last year and 57 game with 34 goal and 47 assist that played the beginning of season with a p Ro P got straight to the second Spirit be play his last two years and the memoral cup Beck also joined the team Canada during the World Championship 2024 Becca I believe going to be a solid bottom sck for the M as a center why is Hoy s why is ay Vision why he can play power play why he can play on the PK why because Beck is going to be a solid shutdown man in in sh I believe as a center I feel like a Beck could be a great hockey player for the m indan a long term my number seven Logan Mayu Mayu dra M 31st R pick in 2021 the big 63212 pounds play his first year in American AAG with the Lavar roet did very well at 47 point and 72 game Mayu as 14 goal and 33 assist was the representative of the Laval raet at the All-Star Game in American AR league and then he play the last game with a Monto Canadian at the end of the season 2023 2024 now for me Mayu can become a second pairing defenseman in NHL and was a third parent defenseman about Mayu I really love his offensive side of his game s great Slap Shot good accurancy with a lot of power and string on the wrist shot this is where Mayu is very different compared to any other defenseman from the M again and he also at the size at the longterm Mayu can play a big role in the playoff with the Montreal Canadian in the next couple of years my number six for the Montan top 10 Prospect is Michael Edge Michael got Dr couple weeks ago 21st overall pick jump from 26 to 21st to get Michael Edge big Center 61 190 PBS play last year and the US sh go we know the story about Michael a two years ago obviously he lost his dad pass away and then following by a bad injury during his first exhibtion game with Chicago s miss the three quarter of the Season play only 13 game with the S as a 10 point but this year Michael became the Michael wi know remember couple years ago he was supposed to be a top 10 player in the NH draft 2024 Michael has 75 point during the season with Chicago s and 54 game with 33 goal and 42 assist ased also at four point and two games on the playoff Marco finished strong this season as 42 point and 25 game and he has 31 point in 16 game it was the second best Prospect with the most point in the last 25 game just one point behind C BR M I believe got a really Sid player in NHL Center or a Winger with a M and was he can be a third Center but again this is a great selection for The Monto Canadian to get Michael Edge now M number five of the top 10 Prospect for the mar Canadian is Jacob Fuller goer of the Boston C 69 overall pick by in 2023 the big 62 214 pounds born in Florida played that year his first year in NCAA after he was the MVP of the USL play off in 2022 2023 play 39 game with a sa percentage of 926 and a goal again average of 2.14 last of l two Z at the NCAA Final championship against Denver andc follow have a great year and NCA is going to return in for the second year with the Boston College for upcoming season but don’t be surprised to see follow maybe at the end of the season with the m and start and 2025 and 2026 possible with the m in or with the laal rocket so that’s is my selection number five on my top 10 Prospect Jacob Fuller my number four is Joshua dver in 2021 P 150 overall pick Center Winger 6′ 187 pounds shoot on the left play 23 game with the m in last year with nine. for goal five assist I have a great start withal if you remember he has 12 point in nine game dur the month of October play most of the time in the second line with M end many expert predict could be the players can join kby Dak and Alex new for the upcoming season we have to wait if he’s going to make the team first of all but what it’s all about the offensive side of the game great shot great release Rich shot remind me a lot many time ran O’Reilly as a shooter now what need to improve is physicality of this game he need to improve also his defenses zone game but what accomplished a lot is 16 years old for all was draft first over pick in the qm C tra at the second year in the qm to the sh Brook Phoenix have a great career with him and won two time with Team Canada the world championship with Conor B where I think he could become a great AR play in in we still not know if he’s going to be a second line or a third line but one thing we know haai is going to bring a lot on the oppos on the offensive side of the game what could become also a great second player on the power play with a montal canadiana my number three of my top 10 Mont prect is David reaker reaker 62 right defenseman select fifth overall pick last year by the mon Canadian 194 pounds play last year with the team Clen did not do well at the end day this team was really disorganized fire many time head coach and also Reb backer got hurt play 35 game only with the team Clon as 11 point one goal 10 assist but if finish the year with the lav play 11 game with five point two goal three assist I think for reaker it would be good for him to start his with the Laval you never know he can get the call up at some points during the year but reaker for me is iing is a first pairing defenseman in NHL W is second pairing defenseman what you like about him guys he have everything what you talk about he can have a great offensive side of this game have a great defensive start of this game great on the cap control on the shutdown One Versus One wi battle really smart AR play great first pass by the way and sometime you will be surprised when he moved the park when is on the transition can join the rush he can also have a great shot on the net he have a great ends at the end of the day put this all together that’s the reason I feel like rebaka could become a first pairing defenseman in NHL and with the Montreal Canadians now now let’s move on on my second at top 10 Prospect is oh yeah Lane odson left defenseman 510 161 pounds ason was draft in 2022 62 overall pick the last two year in NCA was the the Dominate defenseman in this league with 49 point a sh and 38 game with the Boston in 15 goal with 34 assist for what we like for as it’s everything what you talk about unique players move the part well great Skiller not on the speed on the edge workson have a great vision great ends really Shifty ason preses every level he play whatever is a small players and he did the same thing with the m play the last game with the ABS as two point as going to be an amazing great player for the mon is Al sitting on opinion could become a quen US worst case for him it could become a Tony crook but the way he play if you watch him you’re going to realize he have too much talent and skill to not be successful in NHL I think he’s going to play at the same level like Quinn y so he’s going to be a FR sparing defenseman and he’s going to be a uni Great Master throw as a defenseman power play quarterback and the First with m you have a great defenseman in front of you AB fans get excited lerson could be a part of the rer for the upcoming season 2024 2025 with the mon worst case it could be with the Laval roet finally my first top 10 Prospect is Evan di dra fifth or pick 2024 many experts say him the second best Prospect at the NHL drift 2024 for behind mlin C BR m is really lucky to have a player like Evan deid could become an elite play to can reach the total of 90 point to 100 point the was select MVP in the last two year and MHL still have one more year and the KHL will beting if he going to be a part of the ska for the upcoming season great AR I’m so excited M get EV and I know you are fans you cannot wait to see the where the number 91 with the Montreal Canadian in the season 2025 in 2026 and he could 1. Awesome video! It's great to see so many young talents that could join the team. I've been a Habs fan since the mid-80s, and I've never been this excited and optimistic about their future!

  2. Love your dailies Coach…I think Beck will surprise and Roy may disappoint but regardless, this is a strong prospect pool and the future LOOKS bright for the HABS

  3. 1- Demidov
    2- Hutson
    3- Reinbacher
    4- Hage
    5- Konyushkov
    6- Kapanen
    7- Mailloux
    8- Roy
    9- Beck
    10- Engstrom

I didn't include goalies, but I think Fowler is the future Carey Price of the Habs.

    if we go by tiers
Demidov (top 12 most pts in the NHL, SUPERSTAR)
    ^
Hutson, Fowler (top 15 best D in NHL and top 10 best goalie in NHL, HIGH ELITE STAR)
    ^
Reinbacher, Hage (top 2 D in top 16 teams, top 6 forward in top 16 teams, STAR/SEMI-STAR)
    ^
    Konyushkov (top 4 D in top 16 teams, SEMI-STAR)
    ^
Kapanen, Mailloux, Roy, Beck, (middle 6 forwards in top 16 teams, top 4 D in bottom 16 teams, SEMI-SEMI-STAR)
    ^
Engstrom, Kostenko, Nurmi, Berqvist, F-Xhekaj, Eriksson, Koivu, Farrell, Kidney, Thorpe, Protz, Mittelstadt, Gordin and Sobolev
(top 6 D or bubble D, and bottom 6 forwards or bubble forwards, PLUMBERS/DEPTH/BUBBLE)

In a year from now, my list would change for sure. A lot happens in a year.

  4. Reinbacher is 6'3", 209 lbs. Hutson played 2 games with Montreal and was -2. His offensive ability is not in question as he's highly skilled as described but he's a defenseman and needs major work playing in the Dzone. Where they play 2 games a week in the NCAA it allows players the advantage to beef up and pack on muscle, Hutson chose not to and an NHL defenseman at 161 lbs is concerning. Roy played 23 games and was -2, he has defensive senses, offensive skill, needs work on skating/speed, physicality and getting more power behind his shot would serve him well. He'll be an excellent 3 line player and could very well become a legitimate 2nd liner. Personally my feelings about Demidov is I hope he turns out to be all he's hyped up to be. Being "elite" in the MHL is one thing but translating to the NHL is another and the injury history is concerning. For one, the wide leg stance while gliding will make him vulnerable. Montreal could have got Tkachuk but chose Kotkaniemi…Utah was ecstatic to land Iginla.
Hage, Beck, Fowler, Reinbacher, Kapanen, Mailloux, Engstrom (who shoots left but plays strong on the right side)…if all these players translate to the NHL, when my concerns with Demidov prove unwarranted the Habs will have a great line up and we'll be watching some hockey in MTL that we haven't seen in years. If Thorpe, Koivu, Sawyer, Volokhin and any others turn into surprise talents this organization will be overflowing with skill and depth (and won't be able to keep them all). Physicality up front is still questionable…those players disruptive to the opponent's breakout and transition game.
The top ten is an excellent pool of prospects to look forward to.

  5. I would put Reinbacher below Engstrom at this point, he did not standout in the NHL. Hague, Hutson, Demidov for me. That Reinbacher pick will haunt this team for years watching Michkov and Leonard thrive while The Bach morphs into a 3-4 defensive dman lol, just an awful decision.

  6. A nice top ten. I said before that RHP was not a as good as people projected. I feel the same amount Roy. He might be a decent bottom 6 maybe paired very well with Owen Beck. My top 3 are Ivan demidov Lane Hutson and jacob Fowler. I have never been so excited about a goalie since we selected Carey Price. I also see Fowler getting stronger and he is going to get even better.

  7. I agree largely with your analysis, but I think Hutson will hit a wall at some point because of his size, and will have to overcome it. If he isn't able to do so, he will not be able to thrive in the NHL. I think Beck and Roy wont produce at the pace we would like them to. I think Hage and Mailloux will turn out better than you expected. Specially Hage. From what I saw at the habs development camp, he had a gear extra than everyone else on the ice, and made a sick pass for an assist. He was already in another league amongst the players present in the game. Mailloux will be Shea Webber's replacement in the lineup. In two years he will be first pair and will be an essential part of the power play with his dangerous slap shot being another threat along with Demidov's moves and Slafkofski's physical presence and skills.
