  1. I’m worried about the chase rate but the ceiling of Caglianone is really high. I wonder if they will let him pitch or just let him hit.

  2. Love it. Org needs hitters something fierce. Watched him in person at the CWS last month and he was my dream pick. WS CHAMPS!

  3. I hope this works out, because it is not who I want the Royals to pick (Braden Montgomery)

  4. Triple digit fastball and Record breaking power in college 😏

Holy shit I’m actually excited about this guy, if he can get a little more control we have a solid second Two-Way player in the league

  5. Could be a dude who plays like Bryce Harper or like Joey Gallo. I don’t want to mess around with him as pitcher.

Get him to work as a hitter, see if he can keep his chase rate down, and if he looks good in the minors, he should be up next year

  6. I personally would have picked Wetherholt. More of a safe pick tbh but I cant blame them for picking the upside when not a lot of people expected him to be at 6

  7. Oh my god this is an extraordinary pick. And they’re letting him pitch???? Say goodnight

  8. I looked up his stats and he hit .419 with 35 homers this year in the SEC. I don’t follow college baseball, so I’ve never heard of him before, but now I’m excited to watch him play lol

  9. This is the most excited I’ve been about a pick since Bobby Baseball. I can’t believe he fell to 6!

  10. I don’t feel like complaining after a Royals first round pick, what is the world coming to?

  11. Here’s what I’m wondering – if we don’t let him pitch, where does that leave us re: him v vinnie at first? Do we move one of them to second?

Edit: apparently I can’t spell vinnie

  12. Damn, I was expecting him to be a white sox. He avoided a worse fate.

If you guys can pull this off ~~I’ll be bitter as fuck towards yall til the day he retires~~ you’ll without a doubt get a steal as a 2 way player.

  13. Caglianone is the only guy in the history of the SEC with back to back 30 plus Home run seasons. Think about that guy calling someone else a safer pick. No way! This is the only pick. Dude Homered in 9 strait games tying a record also blasting one over 500 ft. He’s a game changer and carried his team late in the postseason back to back years. He also brings you really good defense at first and size. Forget the pitching for now which hes decent at. What really matters is this guy is one of a kind and an absolute hitting monster and is guaranteed to help sell tickets. A potential all star and Home Run derby candidate year in and out.

  14. Honestly my only issue with Jac is he’s a home run power hitter, and our outfield is stupid big

  15. Just let him hit. DH to start. What good will he be if he gets hurt trying to pitch? Not saying he can’t or won’t but man just let the kid focus on hitting and be our cornerstone 3/4 hitter for the next decade when he’s ready. Exciting pick for sure but we gotta develop him right!

  16. I’m a huge Cags fan and am a Florida fan. Cags has really good stuff pitching wise but he couldn’t put it all together. His arm was dead at the end of the year and his fastball velo was down 5-7 mph in his last two starts and lasted 1 inning in his CWS start. Bat wise tho he’s the real fucking deal.

  17. Great pick. Best player available at 6. KC has a bright future with power guys like Caglianone and Mitchell coming in the next few years. Defeinitely needed in the lineup. Now, just need a consistent lead-off batter.

  18. Let’s hope they’ll have him play first, the Royals have next to no ability to develop pitching high school or college.

  19. Maybe he doesn’t start and DH like Shohei. Maybe he starts at 1B and then goes to the mound in the 9th to close it out? Is that legal?
