Mariners vs. Angels Game Highlights (7/14/24) | MLB Highlights

nothing like a good oldfashioned Bullpen day to wrap up the first half it’s Carson Fulmer up on the mountain I’m sure the angels are hoping for a few Innings out of him as Carson Fulmer was ready for the first pitch but the gate open the bullpen the old Bullpen here that gate in right field needs to be closed and I guess nobody is available to do that except for Joe Adell so Joe could do it all Joe Knows yes how to close Gates hopefully but anyway it’s time for baseball JP Crawford to lead things off grw up down the road in Long Beach californ and here’s Crawford lifting a Fly ball to right center field shifting over as Mickey moniac gliding to make the catch for out number one and we are underway on a very sunny Sunday afternoon here at the big a mitch Garver with a popup and exclaiming it CU it’s so shocking and a ball caught on the infield by Kon Hera who is a late addition to the Angels lineup today two are gone and the batter now will be Cal Raleigh swinging a Miss by Cal righ and a good first inning for Carson f 1 2 three Logan Gilbert Mariners Allstar is up on the mound making start number 20 this year outstanding first half for Logan 20th start six and five record the 294 erra for whatever reason the angels have done pretty well against Gilbert in the past he has a 457 against the Angels lifetime so and two on shell drives one out toward right field hit well robis is back for it here with the wall it’s off the wall no and shell bids for extra bases the throw comes in too late it’s a lead off double now the ball skips over toward Third Base as Roos tracks it down keeping shanell at second it’s all about Joe adell’s help out there with the gate and he lines it off it went down and got that breaking ball slider dropped the barrel of the bat his 11th double maybe should have left it open he might have been running forever then that ball would just be bouncing all the way to the freeway I think at that point already an important spot here to be able to get this guy home now and Brandon D when he’s on his game he hits the ball excepts you well to right to Right Center ground ball there’s JP Crawford Long throw on the first base rayley gets his start over there today one down 3-2 strike three called Ward looked like he was almost ducking out of the way for a moment there first strike out today for Logan Gilbert’s Willie Calhoun who did the damage a couple of nights ago stretch and the pitch the Calhoun swing and a Fly ball straightway Center Julio do his right now he’s there and makes the catch that’s going to retire the side so Logan pitches around a leadoff double by Nolan shuel he’s stranded at second we go to the top half of inning number two Mariners Angels no score top of the second boo to lead things off Rodriguez chases and whiffs on a good curveball from Fulmer one away here in the second that’s the second strike out for Carson Fulmer spinning his curveball and his slider so far that they get two strikeouts one ball two strikes on Jorge palano how about Carson Fulmer today that’s 95 mph fastball to strike out jge feel pretty good with his fast that’s the thing is so good about Carson he starts getting the hitters look for his change up his curveball slider and he can run that four seam fast ball upstairs and get it by hitters at 95 ball hit on one hop right to Shotwell little solo to the bag and it’s a quick clean inning there for Carson Fulmer he sets him down for the second straight inning 1 two three Mariners Angels no score catcher Logan ohappy leads it off that’s is squib rley was in the right spot Gilbert covers the bag he was lined up perfectly getting the start today at first base and Gilbert able to beat ohappy to first base for round number one swinging a high fly ball center field Julio thr turquoise spikes drifty back to his right he’s there little skip at the end of the run and he makes the catch so two outs swing and a miss as Neto just kind of chops it a splitter up and in for strike three and down he goes and also down go the Angels here in the bottom of the second nice start for Logan we go to the top of the third hmer has started off the game retiring seven straight that’s so the next batter is going to be Josh roas next pitch this is hit in the Gap in Right Center Field closing in on it and sliding and making the grab on that one for the Angels is Mickey moniac nicely done I I think that was in and out of his glove and he ended up holding it under his armpit that ball was in his glove rolling across his chest and it got right by his armpit and that’s where he squeezed it here’s the next pitch and that’s a Chase and a miss Fulmer gets another strikeout another one two three inning for Fulmer so both pitchers are mowing the hitters down right now gilberg gave up a lead off double to Shadell in the bottom of the first and now he’s retired next seven in a row strike three called freie him a fast ball 98 crackling over the edge and Logan punches out his third hitter of the game he’s retired eight in a row he is dealing early swung on rope right center field over is Rob bless he’s in front of the track a little leap in front of the wall he makes the grab then goes around the back to Julio in the Outfield They’re laughing and why not Logan Gilbert has retired nine in a row he is on his game in Anaheim nine up nine down four strikeouts JP Crawford leads off the fourth inning a swing and a miss strike three that’s the fifth strike out for Fulmer and another swing and Miss Even threw his change up which he hasn’t thrown a lot yet that’s his number one pitch his slider we mentioned about the spin on that one and a nice play by oh happy catching that foul tip another Punch Out Carson Fulmer has set down the first 10 in a row he has struck out half of those batters Garver breaks his bat with a one opper right back to the m continues for Fulmer a frustrated Garver slams whatever was left of his Bat 11 in a row put down by Fulmer to start the game two away it’s two and two on Raleigh and it’s in there strike three called bumer with six strike outs his most in a game in six years 11 in a row put down by Logan Gilbert Willie Calhoun stands in Pitch to him swung on lifted center field right at Julio CHS a couple steps in reaches up grabs it out of the sky and Logan Gilbert goes one two three again 12 in a row put down by Logan Gilbert we head to the fifth the staring contest continues no score last time an angel’s starting pitcher was perfect through the first four Innings of a game was last year in Detroit that memorable double header performance from sh Otani Fulmer four Innings matching his longest outing of the Year have a new season high if you can get one out in this inning swing and a miss strike three like Carson Fulmer is dazzled so far and he Strikes Out Julio Rodriguez for the first down in the F just an excellent sequence of pitches he finish him off with a change up because he threw a fast ball two of them inside earlier in the sequence then dropped his change up to get a Chase swing another swing and Miss for Fulmer today against Seattle little Tapper up the middle it’s grabbed by Hero off balance in time to get palanco what a play by Ken Hera the range and how quickly he got rid of that baseball in the transfer Blanco runs very well in the Outfield grats out of his hand right away and on the money just getting by a half a stride off the bat that looked like a hit very nicely done up the middle middle by Ken Hera just the nature of this game for Carson Fulmer it’s supposed to be a bullpen Game Hunter Strickland is up but you have to give so much credit to Carson Fulmer who would have had five perfect Innings had Kon Hera not Chuck the ball over the head of Nolan shanell as Hera breaks up the perfect game bid on a routine play he had plenty of time but then he didn’t get that good throw again as an infield the perfect throw the one before stayed low on it stood up and then the high throw it would have been 15 up 15 down for Fulmer it’s Victor OAS who grounded out his first time and now he gets hit by a pitch a sudden the Mariners have a runner in scoring position on an airor and a hit by pitch check swing Ball Four now they’re loaded and here comes Ron Washington a former should have been out of this inning perfect through five he was absolutely amazing today seven punch outs four and 2/3 no hits and now it’s up to his good buddy he to put up that zero now Fly ball on the INF field now Zack Netto backs up to the Outfield grass he makes the catch taking care of his good buddy hund strickling gets a popup zero put up JP Crawford leads things off in the six Mariners are still looking for their first hit Fly ball driven deep right center field and gone the the Mariners first hit comes in the sixth inning it’s a leadoff home run by JP Crawford and the Mariners Take the Lead he stroked it that was 410 ft 101 off the bat he got it all and Gary that’s the way you get your first hit of the game a long home run into the big bleachers out there in right center field number nine for JP and the Mariners have the lead Seattle with a one out base run at War waiting for the next hitter to advance to the plate and it looks like it’s going to be Ty France yeah they’re going to pinch hit ress goes the pitch is low throw a second not in time it’s too high ress just stays on the bag ress gets the stolen base but tie goes down un strikes two away runner in scoring position now after the stolen base now he takes off for third and he collides it looked like with the glove of Drury the ball is into left field and here comes Roble he scores standing the Mariners add on in the seventh looked like Drury as he tried to catch that ball made contact with robas and he never caught the ball it just went sailing in the left field from there so Victor robas creates a run all by himself work the walk and up coming all way around two stolen bases basically a Ricky run created there by Victor robas the Taylor Ward will stand in he’s 0 for two in the game so far Logan’s retired 18 of the last 19 he has seen here’s the one two swing and a miss that was filth the slider and the dirt Ward halfhearted cut strikeout number eight for Logan Gilbert he’s retired 19 of 20 Rolland strike three called Freeze him upstairs a slider all Calhoun could do was watch strike cut number nine for Logan Gilbert set him up knock him down he is put down 20 of 21 the allstar into the motion here comes the pitch to Hoppy swung on a grounder to third Moore has it sets his feet whips it across that’s the out another one two three inning from Logan Gilbert and the allstar has been Sensational in Anaheim here today three balls at a strike there’s ball four so backto back walks as the Seattle Bullpen is coming wild now Joe Adell has the table set adell’s over for two with a strikeout one big swing in here can turn this game around completely and a breaking ball is hammered out toward left center field Ras chance to get near the wall it’s gone Joe Adell serves a three-run homer and the angels go on top here in the bottom of the eighth what a blast from Joe Adell crushed it out to the Gap in left center field got it over the wall and there was the one big swing after the back-to- back walks to start the inning what a swing Joe at down so the Mariners are down to their final out here in the top of the ninth inning and now the Mariners final hope is JP Crawford who gave the Mariners their first run of the game lie ball shallow left Center Zach meow is calling for it who’s backing up he makes the catch say good night to the Mariners the Angels win the series against the first place ball Club three straight one-run wins 32 the final today Joe adell’s big swing in the eighth changed the course impressive is this Victory Logan Gilbert was ridiculous on the mound for Seattle but a couple walks and then the best playing baseball by the way way to three-run home run by Joe ad Dow what a swing

  1. The M's offense just can't hit for sh-t and even when they do, the bullpen completely implodes. I'm pretty sure it's time for them to hand back the reins to Houston for good and let them go on another insane playoff run

  2. If asked in March I'd have said that we'd only be a couple games back in the division with an easy 2nd half schedule that could push the M's to win the division. So heading into the break a game up and with the tiebreaker over Houston currently it's hard to be upset.

  3. Mariner desever to lose not Logan Gilbert but the bad offense and the bullpen. How do you have only score 2 runs against a ballpen game for angels not even a starter

  4. Well played Mariners, well played – losing 3 of 4 games to your division bottom dweller/rival. Giving life to the Texas Rangers, who you should thank for keeping you in first place through the weekend. Wasting another 2 very fine pitching starts from your top tier starters – and just wasting a top tier rotation in general this year. Giving us all another example of one of the worst offenses in team history (and that is saying something) and one of the worst in MLB this year. I would not be surprised if the M's lose the division lead after the all star break and we can then begin dismantling this team. Go (on vacation) M's!

  5. Fire the GM, MANAGER, and HITTING COACH!

The starting pitching is being wasted, bamboozled, and disrespected by this frail ZOMBIE OFFENSE! MOST team K’s (1013) in league (by far!) WORST in majors (by far!) in HITS (701) and AVERAGE (.217)…ROTTEN TO THE CORE!

And yes, yet ANOTHER game w/ double digit Ks! An absurd 15 more! A lineup of nine Joe Bidens would show more life! The Mariners offense is OFFENSIVELY ROTTEN!!!

  6. Summary of the mAAAriners 1st half: Pitching (excellent) & Hitting (literally possibly the worse in MLB history)
1.) fire Scott 'fill-in guy' Servais before you trade anybody (worse skipper of any current contending team in MLB)

  7. a guy tries to close the door…is more interesting than. another dismal appearance of the soon-to-be junk M's in 3rd. place. what a crappy game. Good luck, Haloes — Ron Washington is a great coach and manager, Atlanta is still sad they lost him

  8. As a Mariners fan, if there are any Astros fans watching this video & commenting that have their usual comments, mocking the Mariners & not taking them seriously, go right ahead. This team does not deserve to be a 1st place team, they do not deserve to be taken seriously or respected until they prove otherwise.

  9. Did the video not show what disrupted Gilberts perfect game ? Did I miss something? What is the point of a highlight video without something like that

  10. Maybe we misread Dipoto's statement last year.

Was it reallly a 54% goal? OR JUST 54 WINS?

This season is over for this poverty franchise, and you have him and the cheap ownership to thank.
