Latest Shams report: ‘What I’m hearing on Markkanen, Ingram potential trades’. Jazz looking for the whole enchilada.

Summary for the paywall blocked site:

The Golden State Warriors have shown the most interest in acquiring Markkanen.

The Warriors proposed a deal including Moses Moody, multiple first-round picks, pick swaps, and second-round picks.

The Jazz demanded more from the Warriors, including Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and additional picks, which has been a non-starter for Golden State.

Markkanen can be traded next season if he signs the extension on August 6 but is not tradable if he signs after that date.

  1. Ainge: “Give me everything”

I like how it says Jazz proposal is a “non-starter” for Golden State. You’re the ones who started the discussion lol

  2. I think we have to keep Lauri then. Moody and Brice are similar players. If we can get Podz, then he isn’t really needed when we have Cody, Keyonte, and Isaiah at guards. If Kuminga isn’t offered, then I’d just keep Lauri, and trade for the next superstar that’s asks out with all our picks we have, and hope Lauri, star we trade for, Cody, Keyonte, Taylor, Isaiah, Brice, and Kyle, and our pick next year (we’re being one of the 10 worst teams next season anyways, so we keep our pick) can be something in 3 or 4 seasons.

  3. Nothing new to see here. Markkanen is more valuable to the Jazz than he is to the rest of the league. The only scenario where he’s traded is by a desperate FO forcing our hand by offering such an unfair package that it would be malpractice for our FO to say no.

  4. How kind of the Warriors to offer Moody, a guy they’ve had for 3 years and who still hasn’t broken 20 mins a game. They played Podz more as a rookie than they’ve played Moody at any point in his career.

I can understand the Warriors saying no to Kuminga + Podz + picks but one of Kuminga/Podz has to come back in any trade.
