apologize for the tech issues blame streamyard they are operating worse than Zach Wilson did against the Jaguars on Thursday Night Football so with that being said here is RG3 earlier today when he was on get up being asked about the New York Jets let’s pull it up roll the clip here we go and you guys will hear the audio will react what I would say is that if Aaron Rogers plays like a top 10 quarterback like the execs have him ranked and like we’ve known him to be right an off year for Aaron Rogers is a great year a career year for most quarterbacks if he plays like a top 10 quarterback I think the Jets win the Super Bowl and and I say that because Bart in a sense is right on paper this team is one of the best in the NFL when you look at receiver with Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams a one-w punch you’ve got a bunch of other guys in there whether it’s Alan Lazard or Malachi Corley Bree is one of the most underrated running backs I believe in the entire NFL and that defense is phenomenal and we got to remember greeny I know you’re a Jets guy but at the end of the day we’ve been saying for like two years that all the Jets needed was a quarterback well guess what they got their guy in Aaron Rogers he’s healthy he’ll be ready to roll and if he plays like we know this gonna be a great year for jets fans all right hopefully you guys could hear that to the best of your ability just to recap we’ll put the money quote up on the screen that I can do if Aaron Rogers plays like a top 10 quarterback I think the Jets win the Super Bowl couple questions off of RG3 statement one if Aaron Rodgers plays like a top 10 quarterback I think it is a fair question can they win the Super Bowl I would lean yes if you tell me they don’t have major injuries at other areas of the team in other areas of the team meaning the defense stays healthy the offensive line stays intact Bree Hall and Garrett Wilson are healthy because if you look at Super Bowl winners you pretty much need to play in that 8 to 10 range just to have a shot if you go through recent NFL years obviously Mahomes is momes but go look at Matt Stafford’s Super Bowl season for example like you need to have the ability to play in that at bare minimum to me 8 to 10 range so the question question is can Aaron Rogers still play like a top 10 quarterback I think he can NFL Executives coaches and Scouts ranked him at eight in their list he didn’t play last year which just tells you the reverence they still have for the guy so can Aaron Rogers play like a top 10 quarterback I think the answer to that is yes and if he does I do agree with RG3 I think there’s a scenario for the Jets to be Champions now if he plays greater than a top 10 quarterback then I think it’s without question you could be a Super Bowl champion if you’re the Jets but RG3 is right and what really kills me is that if you see the actual clip Dan Grano is like shaking his head like what the Jets could actually be good oh I’m Dan Grano I gotta pretend like I hate the Jets because I hate Aron Rogers like it’s so weak man like here’s the reality everything RG3 said there is true they are stacked around the quarterback they have been missing a quarterback the last two years but I think this roster is better than the roster they put on the field in 2022 and 2023 I think it’s a much better roster the o line is better the skill position players are better the defense is in year four of this system jine Johnson’s in year three s Gardner’s in year three Quinn Williams is ascended to be an all proo Quincy Williams is ascended to be an all proo this team’s better than some of the teams they’ve had the last couple years where we’ve said they just missing the quarterback so you get top 10 quarterback play after you’ve won seven games the last two years without a pulse at quarterback a wet paper bag would have given you the same percentage chance of winning games as the collection of quarterbacks the Jets have had for basically the last two seasons especially last year top 10 quarterback play to me smells like 11 or 12 wins no Brock pie gave you top 10 quarterback play last year Jared gof gave you a top 10 quarterback play last year look what those teams did the Jets rosters as good as those teams it’s right up there with any roster now you throw top 10 quarterback play in and they got a shot and it’s like I always say you need a quarterback as the prerequisite but you still need a team once you have that quarterback that’s why Aaron Rogers only has one championship in his Hall of Fame career because the points per game allowed in NFC Title Games in his career is over 35 that won’t happen with this Jets team if better or not you imagine the type of loss that would be if the jets are in an AFC title game and it’s their defense that fails them and losing a shootout to Mahomes how frustrating that would be you at the end of the day if you get top 10 quarterback play I agree with RG3 I think you could win the Super Bowl and it’s also it’s it’s not even necessarily about like over the body of work what level of quarterback you are because if that was the case Dak Prescott would have way more postseason success than he’s had but he was what second in MVP voting last year and Dak didn’t even make the top 10 of this list I don’t believe or he might have been number 10 so point being is that yeah you need top 10 quarterback play like if you want like a blanket statement but you also need a guy to come through in the clutch and that’s where I think you love having Aaron Rogers who’s been in the big moments before has been a Super Bowl MVP that means something man people say all he’s only got one Championship well that Championship experience you can’t replicate that matters this is a guy who went 80 and 10 in Green Bay when they allowed fewer than 20 points the jet defense the last two years has allowed 19 points per game combined so you combine all that and I’m with RG3 because the rest of the team is stacked they just need to get decent injury luck obviously they’re not equipped to survive losing their starting quarterback for an entire season but they could survive two or three games if Rogers can’t play all 17 you know they could survive an injury to Tyron Smith if he’s gonna miss his four to five games because they have Olu they had more depth than they’ve had in years that’s why we’re so high on the roster you know we did an exercise on the morning stream today talking about the most competitive battles for the Jets on this roster you realize how good the team is when we’re debating who’s wide receiver five or wide receiver six in the past we didn’t know who wide receiver one or two was we didn’t have a pass rusher on this team now the Jets might have three legit ones certainly two in reick and Germaine and I think McDonald’s gonna be a good player I do so this team has no excuses no one wants to hear any excuses they got to win period end of story they have the team that should be able to do it now they got to get it done unfortunately for those tuning in late we couldn’t show you the clip because streamyard is not allowing me to play video but have a really strong team we have a lot of depth and we haven’t had a lot of depth in years right you know like as you mentioned earlier we wouldn’t know who wide receiver one or two was you know so now we’re thinking way down in the death chart as far as like who’s going to be five or six so so so that’s good uh my another my another question to you is about Devonte Adams um what do you think is a good trade proposal for him I I I think it I think it varies based on are you trying to acquire him now or you’re trying to acquire him right around the deadline time uh I I I think I think I would acquire him now all right so you’re if you’re trying to get now all right I think if I’m the Raiders I’m asking for the Jets first- round pick right now you know what let’s go all in look let’s go all in and and if that’s your take there’s nothing wrong with that I I think I would wait until closer to the deadline to make that move to protect my first round pick now if there’s an injury in training camp I think that changes the equation but like put yourself in the Raiders shoes they won eight games last year they hired the coach that Devonte vout for and Antonio Pierce they’re going to go into this year thinking why can’t we be what the Texans were this past year there’s always a team that goes from worst to First why can’t we be a team that is competing for a wild card spot at the bare minimum if we can’t win the division you know so I just don’t think there like why why would they give him discounted to the Jets at this point if they’re out of it and they want to unload his money because they don’t want to carry a $40 million capit then you could probably get him for two third round picks after nine by the deadline like that that to me is kind of how it will play out ultimately if he’s down I don’t see him being traded down yeah that that that that rationale actually makes sense right so we wait closer to the deadline and if the Raiders are are out of it right so so we could you know we could possibly trade like a third or something like that or a conditional second you know as oppos to giving up by first yeah you could do a conditional pick too I mean but if you’re the Raiders like you’re going to ask for a if you’re going to move him down because like you’re not giving up like if you trade Devonte Adams what message did that send to your team right no
