CJ McCollum honored at the 2024 ESPYs | New Orleans Pelicans

[Music] what’s up everybody I’m here in La at the Muhammad Ali Sports humanitarian Awards excited to celebrate all the great work being done here in the community by different people from different walks of life tonight we’ll also be presenting Steve Leon with the Arthur Ash award so one of the finalists for this year’s Muhammad Ali Sports humanitarian of the Year award CJ [Music] mullum if you love Louisiana you know the name Steve G is ex ordinarily courageous life I cannot think of a more deserving soul and we are all so honored to have him with us [Applause] tonight it’s really cool to be recognized but it’s it’s more so just about the kids and the impact that you can make on the communities and those that are it’s cool to be recognized because it it shines a light on you know some of the things that are being done and some of the people that actually need help need resources need opportunities so it’s about people who give back and follow that example that Muhammad set and CJ does that it was so interesting to find out that he would visit these youth juvenile really their detention centers it’s wonderful he is an inspiration focus on New Orleans focus on New Orleans needs and and really just kind of tackle a lot of different areas from social justice uh to kids to education and you know so many people’s lives are going to be changed uh for the good deeds that we’re doing

New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum was honored as a finalist for the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award at the 2024 ESPYs and recognized New Orleans Saints legend Steve Gleason who was on-hand to receive the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage.
