NHL.com predicts the Blackhawks roster

  1. I personally don’t think that this is a *bad* lineup necessarily. It is very veteran-heavy though, which is interesting. That said, I would be shocked if players like Smith and/or Maroon play even 60% games for us. Especially after the Trade Deadline, we will definitely see more of the younger players in the lineup.

  2. It’s just a roster that hopefully won’t finish last and make some progress in the rebuild. If they finish a few games below .500 while finishing ahead of one maybe two team I’ll be happy, but I still believe 2025-26 is the season that have to be a competitor

  3. So is NHL.com predicting that Reichel starts the season in Rockford or a healthy scratch?

  4. Bedard should play in the wing. He does not and Never will have the defence and the size to be a GREAT center in NHL. Winger tho … I’d seem very Kucherov like in the wing.

  5. I honestly hope we don’t see Kurashev on the top line for at least like 20 games lol if Bedard can’t make it work with either Teuvo or even Mikheyev up there, then sure bring Philipp back into the mix, but we obviously should be striving to get Bedard a better winger this season (hence the acquisitions).

Reichel also needs to be in here unless he’s traded before October lol Athanasiou is an easy odd man out or one of Maroon/Smith then drop Foligno down to the 4th line to make room for Lukas at 3LW. Though, I will say I am still intrigued at the idea of pairing Reichel with Bedard and either Bettuzzi or Mikheyev at 1RW to be the net front presence, assuming Reichel rebounds *hard* of course lol I felt like they didn’t get a fair chance to develop much chemistry.

Will be interesting to see how camp goes. Considering this center depth, someone like Nazar should have plenty of opportunity to cement himself into the lineup – excited to see how he does this upcoming season!

  6. Teuvo’s on that first line. Gives Connor the first decent linemate he’s had and should give us a decent look at what more he can do.

  7. As a wings fan seeing AA at center is wild tho I know we tried him there at the beginning. How do y’all feel about that?

  8. Seeing Teuvo’s name up there is a little surreal. I can’t believe he’d been gone for so long.

  9. Strong second line strategy is intended to keep the other team’s shutdown defenders too busy for bedard
