New York Giants News | Dex 3rd Best DT? | Daboll Ranked 21st | Tyrone Tracy Starting?

[Music] hello and welcome to big dad snows big dad snows what New York Giants football let’s go you see the thumbnail I decided to do do do it a little bit different for this video this video I’m going to be reacting to some of the headlines um that I’ve been seeing over the past few days maybe the past week but it’s New York Giants headlines shout out to the Giants content creators out there shout out to the to the Giants Community you know stronger together you already know how it is support your fellow Giants content creator um and yeah so um going to get into some of the headlines that I saw some good some not so good you know well one not so good but a lot of stuff is positive that I’m seeing and whenever I see positive news you know um in regards to the New York York Giants you know I’m happy to see things like that and I just wanted to talk about uh a couple of things not even a couple of things I think it’s five things that I wanted to comment about but before I go ahead and get into this video go ahead and hit that like And subscribe button hit that share button um the channel is growing and it’s all because of you guys on the road to 10 uh 10K subscribers right now just well I just crossed the 5,000 a mark but got to set some um high goals if you if you plan on reaching them right absolutely so first um the first uh thing that I saw right uh and it I saw the post from the Fireside Giants and um the title of it was uh Cordell flat was named to the CBS Sports 2024 NFL all breakout team and you already know as a New York Giants fan knowing the question marks that we have on defense and CB2 cornerback number two being one of those question marks knowing that cell flat is penciled in as the starter right now I like I like reading this I like seeing this Cordell flat possible breakout player for 2024 I’m hoping so one thing we know about Cordell flly does not lack the effort you know does you know has made some plays in the past can he be more consistent that’s the biggest thing with Cordell flat also he’s super skinny can he gain some more weight I think right now we’re seeing exactly what he’s going to be um 6’2 you know about 180 lb maybe 185 lbs but he has the length to be a quarterback but does he have the strength to be an NFL quarterback or a dominant I should say a dominant NFL quarterback cuz he is already an NFL quarterback and a possible star of going into the 2024 season but that’s something that I that I like seeing that somebody else views Cordell flot as a possible breakout player for 2024 that’s music to my ears as a New York Giants fan especially the way that we’re thinking you know there’s rumors of of us you know being in the mix for xaven Howard and stuff like that you know Stefan Gilbo and other name people throughout there a Dory Jackson possibly resigned and stuff like that there’s still a lot of question marks people don’t people are not quite sure sold on on Cordell flat you guys know how I feel about it we need to stop signing over our draf e and um if Cordell flat third round pick in the 2022 uh draft go ahead and give this man a chance to earn his spot keep his spot and be a player you know for the long run so that was the first thing I wanted to comment again that was um from Fireside Giants I think the next two are from Fireside Giants as well or I scrolled down and saw them post um saw the post from Fireside Giants so the second one is going to be um Tyrone Tracy right they said will will he be the starting running back by the end of the season that’s a good question that’s a good question I think um one thing about Tyrone Tracy I did a video on Tyrone Tracy shout out to Tyrone uh Tracy um has a lot of supporters in the fan base for sure um Tyrone Tracy is one of those surprise players right he could end up being um a key a key point to what this office can do um obviously we signed dein single Terry you know we got him a young veteran you know from the Texans um solid numbers you know throughout his career has not cracked a th000 yards yet but pretty solid uh with almost being right there at the cusp of a th000 yards can he do that with the New York Giants hopefully so but Tyrone Tracy as a extra layer a level of explosiveness that that the New York Giants um I can’t say that the New York Giants haven’t had cuz we had saquin Barkley but when they when saquin Barkley left Tyrone Tracy is is that next um I guess player in the running back room that could be one of those explosive type players he has you know that type of uh skill set to be explosive so will I be surprised if Tyrone Tracy was a starting running back by the end of the season absolutely not I I will say this I still think no matter who the starter is it’s going to be running back by the committee um don’t see one guy getting you know like 80% of the snaps or something like that I can see it being a nice split you know for the running back committee and I’m thinking three guys um make up that committee it’s going to be Devin single Terry Tyrone Tracy and also Eric gray and that’s where I have it right now again we have not started training camp yet but that’s where I see it right now and um no I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyrone Tracy ends up being a starting running back and I actually hope he does uh we have Deon single ter I believe that’s a two-year deal maybe a three-year deal I got got to go back and check that but we drafted Tyrone Tracy we drafted draft him drafted him for his explosive um you know big play type of ability and um I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyrone Tracy ends up being a starter for the New York Giants um at the end of the season um or by the end of the season I should say um the next thing also from Fireside Giants it said that ESPN ranked the Giants uh 13th for players under 25 that’s something that I guess that’s something that a lot of people don’t talk about as much um the New York Giants have one of the youngest NFL rosters you know one of the youngest and when you look at some of the names um that that are 25 and under it’s it’s pretty much all the players that that the fans have high expectations let me just run down the list of some of these guys and I’ll start with some of the older guys that are still you know 25 and then under so Andrew Thomas is 25 you know he’s already solidified himself has a top 10 you know tackle in the league another name on this list of course is going to be Malik neighbors Malik neighbors is 20 years old you know when you when you look at some of these building blocks Kon Tibido 23 um you know Micah mcfaden 24 um Isaiah Simmons is only 25 now here Evan Neil is 23 now listen we already know how we feel about Evan Neil right now today but if Evan Neil turns out to be actual player he’s only 23 years old so just imagine how good roster gets you know with a little bit more seasoning Theo Johnson uh 23 Tyler nuban 23 Cordell flat is only 22 W Del Robinson 23 uh Jaylen High 20 like there’s a lot of young players and I and I don’t you know I don’t see why we wouldn’t be ranked pretty high when you when you see some of those names listed but I like to see that ESPN is is looking at the New York Giants in a little bit of a different light again we’ve had a lot of bad press with the Hard Knocks people criticizing the GM criticizing the coaches criticizing you know some of the decisions that are being made but when you see things like this you know this a bright spot for the New York Giants that we’ve been missing you know lately all right so the next um the next thing is going to be Dexter Lawrence being being ranked third best defensive tackle and this is voted on by League execs coaches and Scouts so Dexter Lawrence the B the third best defensive tackle in the NFL and he is behind Chris Jones is ranked number one and quinnon Williams is ranked number two now let me tell you something right now I’m putting I’m putting Dex lawrens above quinnon Williams why because of my Giants bias but I really do think that dexra Lawrence you know is a better defensive tackle than um quinnon Williams now quinnon Williams probably had a little bit more success early on actually I know he had more success early on than Dexter Lawrence Dex Lawrence really came on in um in the 2022 season that was his breakout year and then also 2023 he built off that quinnon Williams has been a star since he got to the Jets so I mean that’s that’s one thing I would say but just you know me I got to go I I got to I got to look at the facts I got to look at the stats and I’m looking at Dex sh Lawrence right so I went to PFF just to look up you know some of the stats for these guys so I’m just going to put the side by side Dex Lawrence and quinon uh Williams some of the stats that they had so Dex Lawrence had 37 tackles um these are Solo tackles quinnon Williams 42 tackles so quinnon Williams is winning in in the tackles um Department as far as solo tackles um Dex Lawrence had 12 assists quinnon Williams had 11 assists Dexter Lawrence had six sacks quinnon Williams had six sacks as well uh Dexter Lawrence had 45 hurries uh QB hurries and quinnon Williams had 53 hurries um Dex Lawrence had 65 total pressures and then quinnon Williams had 70 total pressures so I was proven Wrong by the stats again I’m still riding with Dex Lawrence as the you know DT number two behind uh Chris Jones but you look at some of these stats and Corner Williams is edging um Dexter Lawrence you know in some of these stats then I went to the to the grades so I want to looked at the went and looked at the grades as well and I pulled up the grades and then um side by side I have dexa Lawrence he had a 92.9 overall grade from PFF Quinter Williams had a 90.6 so he’s leading that department um Rush defense Dex Lawrence had a 89.5 versus Quinter Williams 90.4 so um Quinter Williams slight slight Edge for him and guess what we already know that New York Giants run defense was not up to par last year um but with that being said Dex lawen still right underneath right underneath quinnon Williams with a 89 versus Quinn’s 90 and then pass rush pass rush we got 92.6 from Dexter Lawrence and um and an 84.5 from quinnon Williams so right now when you look at the overall grades Dexter Lawrence is the better um defensive tackle um versus Quinter Williams and again stat-wise you see Quinter William Williams edging with the numbers but as far as the grade Dex Lawrence is is winning as far as the grade you know for um you know for those rankings but again Dexter Lawrence number two on my list I will give the utmost respect to Chris Jones Chris Jones is lights out and that’s the only guy I’m putting in in front of um Dexter Lawrence right now and then the last headline this was coming from goat nyg on Instagram it says Brian DAV this is according to CBS Sports or what CBS Sports put out there here is the 21st ranked head coach in the league so Brian Debby goes from being coach of the year in 2022 to being ranked uh 21st after you know his second season and guess what rightfully so the New York Giants only won six games last year so do I expect him to be in the top 10 of coaches uh absolutely not top 15 of coaches I didn’t expect them to be all the way into the 20s but when you have a record the way um the way it is and we’re just speaking facts when the record is what it is when the game play is what it is you can’t expect you know the coach to live off of what he did in 2022 but I will say this take that ranking as motivation Brian dble you’re ranked at 21st you were at the highest of highs being the coach of the year two years ago and right now you you know you’re you’re on the back end as far as coaches go not the very least or not at not in the very very back but um you know you fell you fell but this is a chance to your third year and your third year as head coach for the New York Giants this is a big year for you to show improve and make this team or I should say carry this team you know to the next step or the next level uh of where they can be and I’m always going to root for Brian David because I do believe he’s a a a great head coach and he can tap into that greatness this year I saw what he was able to do with with a Tommy DeVito able to win three games with Tommy DeVito um a lot of people can say that the defense helped out a lot but still that Tommy DeVito did make some plays and Brian dable got him ready for for for Tommy DeVito to go from pretty much not throwing a pass against the Jets to going on a three-game winning streak uh you know that’s a testament to the coaching staff and Brian dable is the head coach of the New York Giants you can give some um some uh Kudos the um Kafka as well but it is what it is we’re talking about Brian dable and guess what hopefully hopefully he can crack the top 10 again next year so that’s going to be the video just want to talk about some of the headlines going on with the New York Giants some of some of the positive stuff going on with all this negativity out there and then Mike Lombardi maybe I’ll talk about you maybe I won’t I don’t know we’ll see what happens um maybe I’ll mention that in the Hard Knocks recap tomorrow but right now this is the video I want to thank everybody for vibing with me please like
