Gregor Chisholm: The Blue Jays stay on brand to restock one of MLB’s worst farm systems

Checks notes: American leagues 4th worst record (6th worst in baseball), one of the worst farm systems in baseball, no locked up young stars, and butchering the fan experience for viewers at home.
What a colossal disappointment for all Jays fans.
On the one hand, the Jays definitely haven’t earned any benefit of the doubt as far as the draft goes; on the other hand, this feels like a cheap hit piece
It’s weird because Farrell was preaching changing their strategy and being more risky, but that all went out the window once they drafted Yesavage. Seems like he was asking overslot, which is why the Jays focused on lower risk, lower slot college arms and bats rather than swinging for riskier high school bats.
Honestly a little disappointed by the draft other than Yesavage, feels like we just drafted like we normally did instead of trying to switch it up like last season’s draft. No one knows the full information or have access to all data like the Jays do, so this is just complaining from a fan’s perspective, but just not the biggest fan of the plan from what I’ve seen of our draft so far.
Maybe it’s me, but compared to the other leagues, when it comes to the MLB draft, it’s hard to find a sure hit or a sure miss. The season is long and the learning curb can be tough as you progress through the system. It will be a while before these players make it to the major leagues (if they even do).
They got tired of people complaining that their 1st round sucked, so they punted the rest of the draft for Trey
So I’m not a local, and thus don’t read the Star, but is Chisholm’s whole existence basically “ripe up readers with controversial shit” and then it breeds more angry Reddit posts?
Ross Atkins was specifically hired to revive the Blue Jays farm system. 9 years later, we have one of, if not the worst farm system in the league.
