he how you guys doing welcome to masika come in oh that’s my baby girl in calina my girl how old is your baby uh 5 months why are you crying [Music] mama say hi baby say hi when I’m at home I just basically just cook some breakfast wake up make some coffee I’m not a coffee artist but I can make a good coffee for sure can make you guys one if you want we always did our thing we wake up and just do whatever and now it’s like we have the baby girl so we got to put her first obviously she eats first before we eat and all that so it’s like it’s a little different I see that you have a photo over there oh yeah can you talk to us about that photo so there was a fan here in uh at the stadium here in San Francisco and I was walking out I was going to the Via I was staying for like 2 days before I moved in here and he gave it to me and he was like here and then I sign for him and he gave that one to me and I love the picture I think it was a good thought you know and it’s a really nice picture and obviously it’s a a special moment for the team for the fans and all that so it was a great event for sure obviously I would never imagine that was going to be at this point in my life right so once you trying to represent what Willie was and all that it’s it’s really great it’s a it’s a really good feeling but yeah that event was great yeah for sure I wish we could do it every year for sure there’s so many black people people that were great greates you know what I mean Legends so it’s like we represent all of them at the end of the day you know it’s been a journey for sure playing baseball and all that coming from like Puerto Rico and all that coming here being new um the bad years the struggles and all that yeah I have to go through it by myself I mean I have my family they support me but nobody’s going to understand what people go through you know what I mean each of us got our own like Journey or own path it’s been it’s been a little tough to just make a peace with myself like baseballwise and just know that it’s part of the process I don’t I don’t feel that satisfied yet for sure I have a long journey ahead of me so I just have to keep going I’m not stopping here I’m not satisfied um I don’t think I made it yet I just want to keep going man I just want to keep getting better every year every day and I love that it’s with the organization that drafted me and gave me the opportunity in first place you know I know what you’re thinking who is that kid my name is ellot Ramos I play Outfield drafted 2017 from Puerto Rico you don’t know me but you will I love that they’re giving me the opportunity to play every day in the B leagues it’s been great for sure I love I love what’s happening I love like my surroundings right now and all that yeah you want some get coffe I love I love Colombian coffee Dominican and all that so I’ll order Amazon and to me it’s a coffee cuz everything else is easy I wish I knew how to make some art but I mean I don’t know I haven’t learned yet I need to get like a tutorial Maybe YouTube or something like that so I can like learn actually learn you know I mean honestly it’s insane it’s crazy I mean the dream is always there but I never thought it was going to happen like this you know what I mean you see the stadium and you and you think D this this stadium is huge like how am I going to hit a homer here or how I’m going to like do good in this Stadium you know but like that’s the mindset when you’re like maybe young you know and you don’t know what you can do I wish I had a better mindset back then but that’s why you learn that’s why you go through things so my brother he made debut in 2021 and he was with the dags they came here to SF and I was in Sacramento and I came and I just uh I watched the game and when I imagined myself there it was like this is insane like I can’t believe it imagine like me and my brother playing against each other in the B Le one day like that would be great that’s when I started like imagining myself like oh one day I’m going to be here and I’m going to I’m going to bowl out I’m going to do good maybe not now but I know like I want to be here for sure when I saw my brother playing in the B leagues and he’s always been like an inspiration to me like baseballwise you know like in life like he’s a hustler he go about his business there’s nothing that you can talk about him that like bad you know what I mean as a person as a player he’s always been great and always like upgive himself you know and stay focused I get a lot of the things from him he’s the he’s my middle he’s the middle one I got the oldest one he’s a professional soccer player Oh back home yeah believe it or not I play a lot of soccer before before baseball like way more than baseball I play baseball cuz I liked it but then when my brother drafted in 2010 that’s when I actually started learning what B was I started flying out to every like season I think when I was like 12 13 something like that I went on a summer I went to uh selling Virginia that’s high a for Red Sox or used to be I don’t know if he’s still the high a I stayed there for a month my mom had to go get me cuz I didn’t want to come back I was seeing all kinds of players I was seeing bogur I was seeing M bets all those guys so it’s like I mean I saw them right there right in front of me it’s insane it’s crazy and know who who they are right Bogarts and M BS where did that love for baseball it seems like your family is very athletic yeah my dad uh he never played professional but he always loves sports everybody in my hometown tells me that he was made to play sports like he was a really good athlete he just never had the chance to like actually go somewhere to prove himself to show everybody you know what I mean I mean it’s tough back in the day you know let’s see I hope it comes out nice you see I made a mess over here one day I’ll get a down you will see I’ll send you I’ll send you guys pictures she’s shy but K is shy but she usually drinks like two coffees a day two three coffees a day don’t be playing I’m really stress the first time I visited the island that he’s from to see his history all the baseball pictures when he was a kid and then to see him now and especially become an Allstar it’s surreal like honestly he couldn’t believe it I it’s a nice invitation we came back from uh Atlanta CL that day Abe gave it to me I knew I was doing good but I don’t know if this good you know what I mean so it caught me off guard a little bit I couldn’t believe it and I was I had to get ready for the game because it was an early game on Sunday right so I just had to get ready and I couldn’t like process it if that makes sense but then whenever I got on the plane on the on Cleveland and we was coming back here I got a message from a coach uh a coach used to be my coach uh back in high school wrote me a long message and I just started crying like I started crying I couldn’t stop crying MOS was right next to me and I told him I was like my bad bro like I didn’t he said it don’t matter cry like just cry like it’s okay like I will do the same like cry and I just started crying even harder I got like that because when he texted me it’s like he’s one of the persons that actually knows what my family has been through you know and my mom my dad me what we have have to do to like so I can play baseball and so I can be at the position that I am right now so it was a little emotional for me and uh it was really it was a really nice moment for sure when they told Webby he was trying to play around with me a little bit and tried to make me like look you know like a little confused he went straight to the point after it but it was funny it was funny because he said sometimes two players go and then he didn’t say anything and then he said it like a couple more times that we have several guys in there that are worthy of that honor and sometimes it’s only one sometimes it’s only one Elliot Ramos [Applause] now I’m like all right like I’m going I’m a old star that’s fine but before I couldn’t even believe it it’s great to have a person like him in the allar game with me Logan web there’s not a better person to share these with uh I known Logan since 2017 2018 so I mean it’s it should have happened two years ago for him you know to be in the allar game for to for Logan so it’s just a great moment for him it’s a great moment for me because I’m sharing it with him and and it’s going to be fun for sure it makes me feel proud of myself you know that like and proud of my family because that’s what they’re looking for too my dad always had high expectations from me you know what I mean so I think he’s the most proud like proud one right here he can’t believe it because he always believed in me for sure sometimes you don’t know who you are and other people like your family they know how great you can be you know what I mean but you don’t realize it until you actually do it who was that first call after the game Henry I called him but he didn’t answer cuz he’s in Korea so it’s different time zones but I take texed him and then I called my kolina then I called my mom my mom was just smiling they were happy they were yeah kolina she was she was half asleep so then she text me she’s like I can’t believe it if you think about the way this year started for him I mean I was expecting to be in Sacramento law we didn’t know I mean he comes here with no expectation so when he was called up I know that he didn’t expect this to happen I did do a post it at our home in Arizona of what we thought like his goals would be like his average how many home runs for this season how many RBI and if you put it all together you you made your goals we post it well year overall year round yeah I I reached my goal but I want a little more yeah sure yeah but it’s going to be a really fun experience I’m really excited for him I mean I’m there just to enjoy it with him but I’m more than anything I’m excited for him I want to see the Home Run Derby for sure I’m I look I’m looking forward to watch it growing up in every single uh home run der I always went in high school like and tournaments and stuff like that I was always the one going to home Derbies I mean it would be fun it would for sure would be fun yeah I had like I told you the sand kind of look suit it’s like a blush shirt right yeah but they do a custom design yeah yeah they’re doing a custom design and then uh I’ll do like a Puerto Rican flag on the inside of the suit she says she put the logo patch the logo of the allar game inside so yeah the Puerto Rican flag is going to be dope it’s going to be cool Puerto Rico that’s that’s my Island I always love it I’m proud of being from Puerto Rico uh every time that I see basketball boxing everything I love that I love Puerto Rico that I love my people I played their uh winner League this past year and they made me feel like I mean obviously I was at home but they made me feel the energy the the fans and all that can’t compare it the Puerto Rican fans all are all over like if you’re in Japan they’re going to be there if you were like anywhere they’re going to be there and it’s and it’s going to be loud and that’s what I love about Puerto Rico all right now I’m changing I’m headed to the stadium uh I just stay chilling I talk to the guys when I get to the clubhouse I say hi to everybody then after die just get ready for the game time just go to the gym stretch a little bit do my routine do my mobility and that’s about it I’m usually with kolina but now she she has to work today so we usually that was nice it’s hard to get used to that seeing me out there in the in the TV all the time you know but this is a nice walk I love the walk how you guys doing all right how you doing all good what is this this look nice I love presents and when I don’t expect them they’re better huh oh it’s nice damn this is dope who got this for me I don’t know how does it look it looks great it looks nice you can rock it for sure B uh JV yeah that’s my coach he see me through everything he see me through all my struggles he see me through all like uh all the hard work that I’ve been putting in and he’s one of the people that’s been there for me too it’s past couple of years so I I love this gift I love this present I appreciate it for sure yeah oh I just saw it this is nice this is nice oh yeah I love the present it’s perfect yeah look what JB got me bro this is nice oh yeah look with my initials that’s badass hell yeah that’s what you needed yeah it’s nice it’s nice you good yeah I thought it wasn’t going to feed me I got a big head oh what up we’re getting a hcut right now oh we’re getting clean clean my I just got taper like the number two low right on the top one and a half uh one and a half on the top and just a taper and that’s it simple clean you know he my barber Bob or Barber he’s been cutting her hair since sack way before I was in sack I think right like a year before yeah yeah I’ve been doing minor league since uh 2015 I’ve been doing big Leaguers since like 2019 yeah this is my first gig inside one of the club houses so this year is my first and it says get my call up when I seen he got the allar nod I shed a tear with my son you know cuz I’ve seen him grow so much I’ve seen him put in all the work that he’s put in man down down in the miners he’s done everything possible to maintain himself up here you know what I mean and that’s been it’s been awesome to see it’s been so surreal for me because I’m not just this Barber anymore you know what I mean it’s like we mess with each other with text hey man how you doing how’s your brother trip going yada yada and it’s like he’s my brother you know what I mean got to get him right for the AAR game yes yes he he better come back on Sunday I’ll be here Sunday I’ll be here Sunday morning I need I need to go down on my beard a little bit you trim me a little bit my baby girl she be pulling the hairs and she pull hard she grab it and she don’t yeah oh she only getting stronger she don’t let go bro you say [Music] ENT that’s like um when a pitcher is not throwing strikes or they’re like running away I just want him to come in the zone so I just be like is to stay locked in and I talk to the boys like that I talk to V to VR I talk to all my boys about it and we just talk like that yeah you’re getting too much secret stuff believe it or not when they call me Elliott it’s so weird to me so weird cuz everybody calls me Ramos so it’s like when they say Elliot I’m like who are you talking to like who you talking about I’m not really good with nicknames and I’m not really good with handshakes either I got to practice some handshakes man I got to do something there you know simple up top down low three to the side chest simple and effective one I don’t know but I love baseball too much I watch baseball all day every day last year when we didn’t make it to the playoffs right I watched the whole playoffs every single game and it started from like two years ago that I started to watch it cuz I used to think like oh no like why would I watch baseball if I’m playing but that’s how you learn you know what I mean the more you watch it the more you get in tune with the sport in tune with yourself you know and what they’re trying to do at the field for sure I love I used to love David Ortiz but uh outfit wise Makin when I went to Pittsburgh I wanted to take a picture with him but I didn’t want to be that guy you know but M caching has always been like yeah really great player a legend to me for sure before the games Lama and I we always put the game uh mhm by by big X the plug and then when I saw levels and I saw lyrics I was like yeah I like this song I listen to him a little a lot in the car I mean it’s hard to learn the lyrics because it’s not my first language but when I read it and I read them and I’m like oh like this is what he means it’s like this nice you know what I mean it got him better they my englage way better it has gotten so much better it’s insane I’m I’m surpris I surprised myself whenever some one of the one of the guys be like what what you just said I’m like yeah I’m Hispanic I forgot I go to I have to get my wording right you know the Head Start preer I am Hispanic as hell back and forth my second year was the hardest League like 60 games 65 games that’s not maybe like a month or two months train I have my friends and my my teammates but it a easy you know sh I look clean up top down low three to the side should what do you mean three to the side bro I don’t understand I don’t get it all right bet [Music] you get tired running back and forth to The Dugout that’s far man I’ll be chilling and then when I get to the line I just walk a little bit you know I can’t be going crazy bro when I go when I’m lit enough hitting that’s the worst you got to book it in there huh yeah got to make an appointment to get there see you man later all right that’s all I up what up do chilling you want it I think I got it we got F got to get up no chance you don’t want it I’m [Music] chilling all right I’m up second round or whenever oh there’s this Cowboy half place in Oldtown scottown she’s like I’ll go she was taking videos of each one and sending them and I was like yeah should they can Engrade like allstar game and HR 177 and stars yeah bro I loved it I Lov it I it I saw it and I was like the hell God gave me this when I read the not I was like oh my boy J I’ve never had a cowboy hat we wanted to get it for like hang it up in your house or something you know like I’m a m oh yeah no it’s nice I loved it I love it apprciate oh boy how you doing
