going to get opportunities to show what they can do take a look at the starting line up really back people down this guy here is an NBA player though Alexander sometimes when you go undrafted it actually as long as you go in with the right attitude I mean that’s we Lear learned about Johny FY savier Simpson’s been very very good pick and roll just for at least over 20 this D can setting the tone defensively getting people in the right positions used to the speed and what a hesitation yeah but there’s rankings those things go all over the place that’s you said summer Le Simpson is pull up game from the corner we get l to throw the hook at again he’s got one box at five finding space and knocks down the jump hanging making the extra pass into the you know he can defend and a nice career at North Carolina one you change direction what happens when you pull pull back the defenser lifts up and now you can attack you can see he’s a little bit uncomfortable he’s got length and athleticism a roster full of guys going making that jump from high school to Pros but I would notice was it was good start here it’s Denver with a one point offensively and defensively this season you know it’s going to take him some time to make the adjustment but as goals are there yeah I think he’s extremely scaled player and you can’t and Elevate p a jump from Deep size athleticism skill a great good job of getting through his spot as well picking in traic and he gets the friendly most successful at getting the Lane St shoots think go back door cut and Tony slider play the the one overa Black backing down that big three guard multiple positions with really good length good job by Simpson denying the ball it’s really going to stick his man another hook sten’s trying to stick Fox monk the Rosen you talk about some dudes that could put pressure on from the outside first thing you got to do is what get the ball in if you like old school Italian food I’m tell there’s nothing that and if if those walls had ears love them but if you went somewhere with T he he was totally locked in he was so good to people really in humility and it was the only game in town it was before and banks with a that the rosters are so [Music] absolutely one of the great families under his wing he has given me so much advice over the [Music] years uh the other thing is for a player like that you know come over whoa whoa Shamir young every coaching staff has their own gloss quick judgments on players at summer league is the biggest mistake the goal here is to get everybody out of here safely with this much time we got to get my guy my guy Walter a shot here take contact good short roll right here M glin at the buzzer and nothing run we will step aside and come back you know we got to finish it off on a uh on a rebound you know and get off and run and uh make sure we um hit the open man Nick Smith trying to play the game the right way it’s a great answer really is off for that small things right there off that dribble handle good close out right there really nice job Smith open jumper left it short good job young finds himself all alone and Salon with the but you can just tell one more pass get the defense to the other side you were just talking about Tyson [Applause] of rebounds already for the Hornets as Smith his shot halfway down Bo got a good shot but could could have kicked that exciting I’m just another the MAA success story right here your journey to get this position what is it how to grind his way up the ladder yeah I and you know look I’m just very thankful for a lot of the people that were uh to be able to move to Maryland um just at at an early age and then along the way there’s just been so many people that have helped me along the stre who are watching this game and learning be overseas but for the guys that you expect to be part expectations laying out you know what they would like to see and again summer leagues it’s it’s never going to be perfect we have a work working culture and um I think if you put your head down and just remember that obviously I’m I’m biased but of course happy to see tjan you know he didn’t get to play in Sacramento he had a minor in playing well uh with Houston and um you know there’s plenty of plenty of guys that have stood out so far [Music] how not healthy yeah you guys remember Nick was one of the highest recruits coming out of high school um he’s he’s very talented the thing was just you know Pace being able to you know in high school he was just so much more athletic and quick game here in Vegas how would you assess his development what he wanted to work on this summer he loves to be in the gym he’s had a he’s had a very compete against the the guys getting ready for the Olympics um he also a core of your group uh a guy like T who’s see him achieve so whether that’s with his body and of course on the floor game mental what but I think just again if we if he competes every night which he does there’s going to be positive stri and it is a journey um not necessarily a Sprint it’s more of a marathon with and Coach Lee I’m just was just defensive I’m going to ask you question don’t be was the other side of the Court first you ask me if I would hang they play about 30 high school basketball games at the moment coaches administr we’ve gone from mentioning every college coach in the country is going to continue to get better I think look it’s great for basketball in the first year where the players going to have fun with it I think there’s an incentive right you win money $500,000 oh I understand this this is my off seon now this is X or the Sixers you’re talking about better off season yeah we always talk about the west but the East got better this this offseason 100% the East three through seven if I’m not Mist two through seven if I’m not mistaken what do you mean he’s M greens guy I mean he greens but I mean like he’s fully engaged in in and Miss part the best Slater the Hornets pick it fading away Alexander G Trent sign some deals I mean what what’s going to be turned off Smith with the kick out finds Matt Morgan offensive Rhythm good spot up right there ni sliding joined this team and what kind of developments they want to see from me his dad was a heck of a coach coached in the NBA and uh great job Ley black got the steel got it ahead you have different levels of relationships with with players right it’s your relationship you have you’re trying to challenge them to be the best version of themselves and everything they do not just on the court of you’re hoping that you’re helping them and seeing them become husbands and fathers Miss like I got the greatest job in the world but the thing you miss not coaching coaching is so cool I appreciate that
