New York Jets Pushed To SIGN Jon Runyan Jr. | Aaron Rodgers & Nathaniel Hackett Connection

[Music] all right guys what’s going on welcome in so there’s this video clip of uh the I think it’s actually the most recent episode of Hardo with the New York Giants where they were showing uh Joe shame and he was basically having you know free Asian conversations with a couple other people within the organization and when talking about one of their primary free agent targets John runan junor it came up that the New York Jets had a better offer originally on the table and if we think back you know think back to you know Jets fans kind of in that uh that mid-march mindset right where free agency just opened up we’re all excited who who are the Jets going to be getting John runan was a guy who a lot of jets fans wanted right because of the fit at left guard uh you know with ABT coming back he’s going to man Right Guard but who is who who is going to be that at left guard by that point the Jets had already released lak and tomlins and saving some money there uh and it kind of felt like runan made just uh a lot of sense turns out the Jets actually offered him a pretty a pretty nice deal it was a two-year contract $9 million a season with 17 guaranteed so almost a fully guaranteed contract and so what ends up happening and by the way I’ll leave the video clip uh linked Down Below in the description box the Giants say we really want this guy we’re going to bump the offer up so the Giants give him a three-year deal worth 10 million annually and still stick at that $17 million uh guaranteed Mark so one extra year one extra million per season and then the same guaranteed money and then boom runion signs with the New York Giants and it’s it’s honestly crazy how quickly everything happens you know once the free agency Market opens up uh and you know I’ve seen a couple Jets fans you know say well you know if if the Giants are going to beat That by just that you know one extra deal you know that that was the deal breaker for the Jets because they obviously pivoted away another interesting point uh in in the in the video clip was how uh the representative was talking to Joe Shane about Ran’s offer with the New York Jets basically saying that it’s the jants are going to have to beat that because of the Rogers hacket connection so if we think back you know the Jets miss out on John runan but literally that same day runan signs with the Giants the Jets pivot and signed John Simpson twoyear deal worth what was it 12 mil uh 2-year deal 12 mil six guaranteed so you know it it’s it’s it’s I love getting like that behind the scenes look into freeing conversations into those you know draft War Room talks and everything like that the trade conversations I love even just the conversations uh between draft picks and you know the new organ organization that they’re going to I I always I feel like I live for that kind of stuff anyway let me know your thoughts Down Below in the comment section it turns out the Jets actually were trying to Target another former packer in this cycle John runan didn’t land them goes to the Giants for one extra million per season and then that extra year of security on the uh on the back end of the deal so anyway thanks so much for watching let me know your thoughts and as always go Jets what [Music] he [Music]
