Trailblazers 82 to 80 close to the end bub carington man made it very interesting at the end um but we ultimately fell by two and not a bad game overall but Alexa the number two overall pick definitely struggled tonight so we’re gonna talk about that and then we’re gonna uh do comments at the end like we always do so let’s get into it everybody um looking at the starting five tonight uh let’s go ahead and start with Alex SAR all right the 30 minutes play tonight he shot zero for 15 from the field zero for seven from threo range zero for uh two from free throw now he did contribute nine rebounds uh three assists one steal three blocks but looking at the defensive numbers yes he got three blocks one steal but this was the third game in the road where I mean he got dunked on I mean people were attacking him at the rim with Reckless abandonment man I mean people were not scared to come at him in the paint and let’s start by saying look alexar lots of talent lots of potential I mean ooing with potential but we all knew we all knew coming out of the draft that he was very very raw you know especially offensively now defensively you know you see that the defens uh the defensive side of the ball is going to be the part of his game that evolves first right you know rim protector uh very versal and active on the defensive end but you know offensively he’s got to find that dog man you know he’s got to find some aggression you know 7 foot one he is too reliant on the jump shot and if you look at the stat line I mean 0 for 15 for the field 0 for seven for three I mean he continue to shoot the ball and yes you know anybody knows ball knows that you know sometimes you want a struggling player to continue shoot but when you’re 71 you know you got to find other ways to contribute yes he contributed nine rebounds and obviously the rebound numbers was something that you know he definitely struggled with when he played in the in in in the Australian League man where he struggled with his rebounding so you definely I definitely like the rebounding numbers but I mean way too relying on that jump shot I mean he that’s he just stuck with that jump shot time and time again and his lack of aggression especially driving to the rim you know playing with his back to the rim you know challenging the rim there was two three times I don’t know if you guys noticed two three times that Alex SAR had a one-on-one match up in the paint and he decided to throw you know pass it back out you know I want to see more aggression you know you’re seven foot one you gotta you know you gotta try to S show some aggression in the paint you know you got to try to score you got got you know that dog Factor has to come in and that’s the biggest knock with alexar right now is that I’m not panicking you know it’s a summer league you want we’re a team that is in going into youra rebuild development is is the name of the game he’s going to have all year long you know several seasons to rebuild you know or not rebuild but to develop you know and I think that he he’s oozing with potentials you see the potential but he’s very very raw you know kind of Echoes bow kulal last year you know bow you see the potential you see the wow factor you but you know the difference is you know with bow you see the dog Factor too on the defensive end you know with alexar yes you know the rim protector yes but you know the fact that guys are coming at him the way they are tell tell you something not scared to go into the paint you know this is the third game in a row where he’s been posterized I mean guys are coming in the paint Bruce mcau tonight I mean mcau that is uh he he’s driving the the paint man and he he dunked on he had dunked on once and he almost did it the second time and like I said this a third game of the road where the other teams not fearing him as a rim protector and we know that you know looking at his frame you know obviously we want him to to gain some weight you know at least 10 pounds of muscle so he can be able to go in there with because look this is Summer League when you go into the regular season you’re going against these fives and these fours and yes he obviously best fits the four right now we all know that he has no business playing the five because outside of Nicholas CL and a few other kind of tweeners at the center position or even at four man you know he’s gonna struggle against five so he definitely best serve at the four and that goes back to Y valunas why he definitely compliments Alex SAR because I think that he’s gonna you know really push him in practice he’s going to definitely be that compliment next to him and definitely try to help him find that dog and try to find that aggression and use that aggression the right way I mean the lack the total lack of aggression gets me and like I said I’m I’m not panicking at all is Summer League you know he’s gonna have a lot of bumps and bruises this year you know what I’m saying um but right now looks like buob Caron looks like the best rookie in in his Wizards class in my opinion and you know um Kean George I think he’s definitely a baller you know definitely he has things to work on especially with his dribble um his his ball handling you know definitely needs to be worked on but uh you see the sniping you see the scoring potential and alexar is just he’s way too riant on that jump shot he’s definitely a stretch four you know he’s a guy who just shows no aggression in the paint so like I said I’m not panicking but you’ve got to develop a dog and you got you know you’ve got to use a 71 frame to attack the basket to get to the free throw line or something you gotta you gotta attack attack attack you got to use that frame to better attack the paint in my opinion all right so let’s move on hhan George would just mentioned him 24 minutes tonight he did shoot two for four from the field two for four from three so so six points you know um not his best showing but like I said you definitely see the scoring potential with him uh Patrick Balwin Jr played he actually started night 20 minutes played uh shooting one for five from the field 0 for three 0 for three from three now he did shoot four for four from the charity strike but look at that the stat line oh before we move on to Patrick bwin Jr uh kishan George um you know two for four from the field but seven rebounds so this a number I like you know definitely like the fact he got into the paint and got aggressive getting rebounds um but getting back to Patrick junr one rebound one assist and one block so again you’re looking for him to contribute in other ways outside of that shot and even then can you really call him a sniper at this point because his three-point shot has not been a threat the second half you know last season and summer league you just don’t see it so you definitely want to see him get back to being you know someone of above average three-point shooter try to be a threat from behind the arc man but because right now can you even call him a sniper and you know he definitely has to get more active using his frame getting rebounds Bob Carrington 31 minutes play now he he shot six for 18 from the field three for eight from three five from five from the charity strike four rebounds five assists and 20 points overall so bub Caron again right now through three games the summer league looks like the best rookie in the class now nothing against alexar you know but right now Bob Kon looks a lot more polished you know he’s playing good ball now you know second game in a row efficiency someone took a hit but the aggression you love you know he’s an aggressive scorer you see the sniper ability you see you know division um you see a little bit of speed now um you definitely want to see him improve his finishing but you know the one time he don’t need to work on his finishing was when he had that dunk when he Jo when he slid through the lane and had that dunk so you seees that scoring ability you see the dog on the offensive end the defensive end you see the effort on the you know defensively so bub kartina has looked good through three games in summer league obviously he’s very young about to turn 19 but you see a lot of potential with him and rounding out the starting five Justin champen and again Justin champen has continued to play really good basketball uh for the Wizards in summer league and like I said if you take in account the second half performance of last season um he’s a guy who obviously he’s going to spend time between the Cal City goo and the watching Wizards but he may you know he is looking more and more of that he may deserve a roster spot man because he’s been you know when called upon he’s played good minutes he’s played really good basketball all right so looking at the second unit uh Jules Bernard 10 minutes played um oh yeah no matter of fact I’m gonna go through the Justin shimpy stat line quick uh he shot 6 for 12 so he shot 60% from the field one for three from three nine rebounds come on now nine rebounds come on now nine rebounds two assists three steals two blocks only two turnovers and he was the only player oh no no there out of three players uh he got um that got Plus in a plus minus he got plus three for 13 points so again he continues to play good basketball all right looking at the second Unit 10 minutes play for Jules Bernard tonight he shot two for seven field from the field two for three from three uh one for two from the charity strike for seven points overall he’s played all right basketball you know 10 minutes play seven minutes uh he’s another guy that I like you know from the go- go and he’s played good minutes when called upon for the Wizards uh Stevenson the guard uh four minutes tonight but he did shoot three from three from the field including one for one from three for seven points so very small sample size but he took advantage of those minutes right uh John B junr 15 minutes played uh 0 for two overall from the field one point uh um which was a free throw now he did contribute one rebound and two steals so he you know he’s kind of a tweener but he he does have potential you know definitely like to see what he can do for the go- go and if called upon could he be effective on the NBA level um Maris Noel man um you know the scrappy Scrappy guard that I liked in his draft class 18 minutes played one for two for the field three for six from free throw so you know for a guy that wants to try to you know earn a roster spot whether you know was with the Wizards or with another team he’s got to take advantage of of the charity strike man um five assists you see the vision a little bit to rebounds for his size four steals very active man very very active in the defensive end man I know he had a steal in the second half that you know you put the Alle up for um Patrick bow Jr and I guess P Patrick bow J kind of you was surprised because he didn’t finish and uh the ball ended up going to the other team so um but you know he’s very very Scrappy and Taylor Funk man 18 minutes but five for down for the field four for8 from three um six rebounds and plus 13 and plus minus for 14 points so telll funk you know he’s a guy that undrafted out of Utah State um he looked good you know he looked good in this game so overall um not a bad showing you know Bub Carrington you know made it interesting at the end but alexar like I said you know a lot of people was Hot Topic um but I’m not concerned I think the talent shows you know you definitely see the the potential with alexar I definitely still think he’s worthy of the second overall pick you know we’re only in three Summer League games and we’re in you know we’re with a rebounding team where oh not rebounding team rebuilding been a long day of work y’all um rebuilding team so you know he’s he’s going to develop you I have faith in Brian Keef and Company to develop him and I think that the Wizards gonna they’re going to develop him right but he’s very raw and you see that because offensively he’s got to show some kind of dog he’s got to show some kind of aggression he’s gota you know he’s got to be you know aggressive going to the paint he’s got to utilize his size so you know he did go pointless tonight and you know like I said I’m not concerned you guys comment below are you concerned definitely let me know not I think that it’s going to be a long year you’re gonna see a lot of growing pains with the rookies you know even Bob carron’s going to struggle this season U you know Kean Jordan is going to struggle this season Bow’s going to have his grown pain you know you definitely want to see kind of a progression from year one to year two with B but you look he’s raw and he’s young you’re GNA see his struggles but you definitely G see a better player and same thing with vich man you’re gonna see a lot of grown pains with these young guys Man U there’s a big reason why we have the vets of the roster um got mentorship guys going to show them the ropes and I’m not concerned but look overall my biggest thing is this Alex star you got to see some aggression you know he is playing timid in the paint um he’s too riing on that jump shot especially the three-point shot way too way too relyant on man and we got to see some aggression you know you know seven S1 you got to use that frame to attack the basket and try to draw fouls and get to the charity strike man so we’re going to get into have his his bumps and brues man he’s definitely going to have his ups and downs um so I think that you know you definitely you know you challenge the coach staff and the developmental staff to do their job and I think they will you know Brian Keef is resume speaks for herself and you know the revamp scouting department and development staff man you know they’re definitely going to get him up but you know the aggression part the dog Factor that’s on him he’s got to show that aggression he’s got to show that willingness to you know you know get nasty in the paint man try to draw a fouls you know definitely utilize your body so but I’m with you man Sheldon T what’s going on with with you now bro uh at the sign he needs a lot of weight room and tough juice absolutely Shon T also said bub really might end up being that dude really like his game I love his game bro um he’s a baller he’s a dog he’s a guy who right now looks like the best you know the best Prospect in the draft for the Wizards man nothing against alexar I think alexar in the long run will pan up to being the second overall pick in my opinion because he’s he has a lot of potential and I think that you see it but the dog Factor the aggression that’s on him uh Bandoo trap him say SAR bus his offense need work more work than bow didn’t expect that yeah I mean I did but I didn’t expect that I knew he was goingon to be Raw coming out of the draft just like BL was you know very raw out of the draft but I think both of them are going to be okay because you know again they’re they’re going to develop them right you know the the potential farly outweighs the struggles at this point um both of them have struggled in their own right but I think long term blow and alexar man are definitely going to be the one two tanm that the Wizards going to build around in my opinion so yeah I mean not his best showing especially you know I mean it was a terrible showing but um overall you know I have faith in what the Wizards are trying to do man in val say SARS refuser to drive to the real yes sir uh despite being S1 it’s so frustrating to watch yeah I’m with you um you know that kind of Echoes what I was saying man is that use your size and frame to your advantage you know you cannot be so reliant on your shot and so timate to drive the basket definitely want to see a lot more aggression a lot more dog out of him inal also says also frustrating to watch how many times his teammates miss him open at The Rim to take a contestant a jumper yeah I’m with you on that um definitely definitely you know there’s a few times that I saw that he he had a one-on-one match up under the you know in the paint and several times he actually he won the mismatch and he passed the ball right at you know right back out so you know right now being a little timid under the basket man you definitely want to see him again be a lot more aggressive um yeah you’re right says uh Jon vesley lord well don’t go there I don’t think we there yet but Lord Lawrence L said bus at the bus BL the only good draft pick um you know I appreciate you comment Lawrence um I definitely appreciate you tuning in um I’m not ready to call him a bus yet three Summer League games so we’ll see um he definitely needs work he definitely you know a lot of it you know half of is on him and you know he definitely needs work you he’s very raw but I’m not ready to um man I’m not I’m not ready to call him a bus yet man three Summer League games and Val said I know you’re not disrespected bub like that Bub is the man so I don’t know if you’re talking to me um but um bub I love bub you know I think that Bub is the man I mean he has played good basketball so far in the summer league so um hope he don’t me that but um I love me some love me some bub man um Area 11 T said takeaways bub and key are legit Shooters absolutely the rookies need a weight room for multiple reasons especially driving yes sir uh SAR is raw and needs to play Stronger the benefit from being set up next year yep I agree on All Points you know they will get there man but you look the weight real for SAR needs to be priority you know he definitely needs to add some muscle and needs to add some dog you know the weight room can’t add the dog for you man you know he’s got to be able to and I think that a player like Y valin is going to work with him on that man you know that that’s where that Mentor Factor comes in um let’s see Area 11 T also said all of the young guys could use a lesson from the school of Denny about playing downhill with some physicality especially SAR hopefully they will when they get stronger oh yeah and that’s one thing that I like about Denny’s game man you know does he um rolling downhill in transition man but um you know we’ll see we we I think we’ll get there you know like I said after three you know the sample size is small it is alarming you know especially tonight performance it is alarming but look man we’re really early on in the rebuild and this year is gonna you’re G to see a lot more L’s than dubs this year and you know you’re gonna see a lot of growing pains with these young guys man so um definitely put your seat belt on man because it’s gonna be a ride this season man uh Ricky Daniel what’s up man I’m Sor just looks nervous like he’s forcing his game yeah that’s good point it’s good point um he does look nervous you know um you know he has settle down let the game come to him and I think he’d be all right man you know young players they they tend to do that they kind of overthink and I think that you know once he figures out the the factor with um as far as physicality he’ll be all right man um my bad I’m looking at comments um so let’s see oh Jimmy go outside that’s funny I like your name uh Sor wants to be a backup shooting I mean yeah I do like the ability to bring the ball up but too has you know he’s too relying on that jump shot man um let’s see van Jones uh SAR short for two that needs work on offense when we got B two um let’s see Star shots aren’t open shots you know um yes and no you’re you you are right to a certain degree now some shots you know he uses his sides to his advantage and shoots over people but again he’s way too relying on that shot but um you know his form is good you know it’s not an ugly shot it’s good shot it’s in a nice form it’s just you know he’s got to find other ways to contribute when his shots not dropping man uh he did good the rebounds tonight but he’s got to get more active in the paint but I appreciate your comment bro um wizards draft pick since John Wall truth 100 I’m with you on that bro uh I think that he he’s looking good right now um again small sample size and you definitely have to expect that he will have his I was very high on on Matas billis man um so I’m with you on that he is balling out right now but you know I’m trying not to compare people because like I said um yeah matal Billa man a guy that I would have loved to see in the Wizard’s uniform but alexar is here and yes you know not the best showing I mean down right trash showing let’s be real but um it’s three summer leag games like I said night in a row where you know you can even say third night in a row that you know the opposing Center kind of did whatever he wanted with SAR man and like I said you know they’re playing they’ve been playing him at the five he’s best serve at the four so we know that now and I think that it has a lot to do with a lot of his struggles that he’s just not there he’s just not that guy right now the five he’s a four you know he’s not a five not a got any in the shows because he’s struggling in the paint man um spooky says Sor makes bronny look good oh Lord um let’s see Avatar 7 by seven says the body you know if we retain Den you know if we still you know if we retained Denny and we added SAR or not SAR but kingan I think that you with that timeline of Denny and the Tommy guys then I would have definitely brought on Klan because I think that we would have been competitive a lot sooner um now that they draft you know they they traded Denny now that Cory kissper is a tradable commodity Johnny Davis probably not on the team uh and Rudy Ben gone uh you know with the you know the timelines changed man I know you know and you know I know a few people got on me man but you know you can’t deny that the timelin changed man I mean you know it has because every draft pick under Will Dawkins is a teenager you know that’s the new timeline so um kinging if they if they would have retained Denny and you know and then I would have I would have went kinging in my opinion but the timeline is different you know so I you know SAR is a better pick long term just for what they’re trying to do uh DC onion see SAR looking like Bambi out there play shook Oh My Man U let’s see try to get through this guys like I said said um I want to get everybody’s comment all right let’s see TR sun says SAR game now it could potentially potentially be five games but I think that’s a Playoff round um so we’ll see if they win against Sacramento on Thursday night maybe they get that fifth game we’ll see um but Thursday July 18th at 7 o’clock the fourth game we’ll see if it’s the final game but the fourth Summer League game for the Wizards will be against the Sacramento Kings at 7 o’clock at the Thomas
