Datsyuk should be in his own HOF/banner of his own… how many players fall into a league of his talent? What is weird is that he spanned two different generations of NHL hockey and how it was played.

The problem with this idea is that 2017- 2021 Detroit was terrible. So I think he would be just as he is today. Datsyuk I think is the best 2 way forward in all time hockey. Not the best point wise. Or the most elite shot. But I’ve been watching hockey for over 30 years. Not one player compares to his 2 way magic. He single handedly carried the redwings to the playoffs for like 3 years.
One thing I miss from off season is sportsnet Trade Trees with Steve. Boy I love those videos, looking at all draft picks and players getting swapped leading to drafting star player which would got traded for pick which turned out to be another star player.
