  1. So we lose a 2nd buyout window and it feels like a slight overpay for JFV

    I am whelmed

  2. Everything above league minimum was going to be an overpay. As far as immediately replaceable 4th liners go that’s almost shocking.

Lines up in the “must trade as soon as possible” ranking right after Holl, Copp and Petry

  3. Dude must have bought Steve’s lunch when they had that road trip from GR or something, this seems a bit high

  4. Eh, probably a hair more than I’d have liked, but it’s fine. He’s a useful player who isn’t a black hole on offense and brings some speed which is lacking throughout the roster. I think he and Motte could be a duo that makes the opposition work a little harder if they play together.

  5. There were games last year where he looked on the cusp of breaking out. This seems to be a do or die contract.

  6. If you love a guy who goes out there, skates really hard without nothing positive ever happening, this contract is great.

  7. was hoping he’d sign for 2 mil exactly or slightly below, this is an overpay by 275k or 300k at most and people are freaking out lol. Never change.

This does open the second buyout window since OP is spreading misinformation on the internet. You get the second buyout window regardless of if the player is awarded a contract or settles, as long as they sign.

  8. He had a nice season for us. Probably our 2nd best skater behind Larkin. He hits and blocks shots. And he’s only 24. I think in 2 years when this contract ends he could do exactly what Copp does for us now, but cheaper and probably better.

  9. If he can snag as many goals as Fabbri and continue the all around game, this will be a great contract. We were paying Fabbri 5 mils

  10. I know a lot of people here couldn’t care less about JFV, but I’m happy about this. He’s been one of my favorites since the Mo-Jo Show.

  11. I didn’t think they’d go over one year or two million. I was definitely underestimating that one.

Now leaves 17,648,194 for Berggren/Raymond/Seider. I doubt we see Raymond and Seider both get eight year deals unless they use the buyout window or make another move now.

  12. I don’t hate it. While it’s a bit high I do buy Veleno having a little more offensive game he’s yet to tap into.

  13. Not nearly as high on Veleno as others seem to be, this feels like overpayment

  14. With Fabbri traded, they sorely needed to keep at least one solid eyebrow set on the team. 10/10 signing.

  15. No biggie. Gives Veleno a chance to prove his mettle. If he can play as well as he did at certain points last season but more consistently than this is a good deal and two years is nothing. Not like it’s stopping us from signing some game breaking player still sitting in FA. Could see him topping out at 40-45 points and If we get that out of him I think it was a great signing, not just good.
