Overall I am pleased with what I seen of Reed Sheppard so far, however he is not ready for prime time and needs development. Several problems I see with him is 1) he tends to lose his man on defense and it will only get worse in the NBA. 2) He failed to box out his man. 3) He tends to dribble high opening himself to steals. 4) He struggles with intense pressure. 5) Sub 33% on 3 point attempts. 6) needs to get in NBA shape. Nevertheless, there was a lot to like for instance his smooth shot, his passing, and active hands. A couple of years under FVV will be good with him. But any idea of him being a starter this year is off target.
I see Sengun/Adams, Smith/Eason, Brooks/Amen, Green/Cam, and FVV/Sheppard as their lineup. Griffin looks like an eventual replacement for Brooks. With their first round picks in future drafts, the Rockets can find replacements for Adams and FVV. Adams or Landale are tradeable. But Adams helps the Rockets in their push for 50 wins. But again, a good trade should be looked at. Rather trade Landale than Adams.
Stephen Adams is gonna do so much for this team. We literally have plenty assets. Good video til you went on that irresponsible trade Adams rant
It is very good experience this summer league to understand Reed and Houston what to work on for
This was good for Reed he gets to focus on defenses that were design to pretty much stop him.
I loved how in the second half he never lost his composure and he figured out how to attack the defense that was pressuring him and making him uncomfortable.
He can’t have that many turnovers got to be better at taking care of the ball but if I recall some of those turnovers were on his teammates
Luckily for Reed he not going to be the main focus on the defense not when he playing with Amen Jabari Tari Sengun Jalen etc. But it’s good to see him going up against defenses that are design to stop him
