  1. Place: 1st

    Division lead: 5.0

    Games to play: 66

    Division magic number: 62

    Playoffs magic number: 59

First round bye magic number: 58*

    Current pace: 100-62

*This number assumes a division win and playoff berth. The bye magic number is the division magic number otherwise.

  2. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

    Our 7-8-~~9~~(Sandman) guys handled business beautifully, with K’d Smith(1.1IP), Gaddis(1IP), and Sandlin(1IP) combining for 3.1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, and 3K. BEST IN BASEBALL BABY.

Nothing like a 30 pitch first inning turned into a 5.2 inning effort to make me love Tanner Bibee even more. Bibee goes 5.2IP, 2H, 0R, 3BB, and 3K on 102 pitches. Bounce-back effort for the ace.

With pitching like that, who even needs an offense? The boys did it anyways, with 7 runs off of 11 hits, 1 walk, 1 HBP, and a Kwan stolen base. A 6 run 8th inning put the game away, complete with a 🍟 bases loaded walk and 🐐 and Rocchio bases loaded hits.

🍌 is officially on his way to Lake County, and I would assume Akron not long after. Hell yeah.

  3. It’s so good to be back! The offense really settled in at the end of the game. Patience at the plate with good swings. Bibee and the bullpen throwing darts all night. The stadium was packed too. Cleveland magic continues!

  4. This game is helping my “They just needed to get to the break” agenda way more

All Star Game-Tying Hitter David Fry is back

1-0 in the Travis Bazzana era

  5. Unreal effort by the pitching staff tonight. Padres lead the Majors in hits this year with 880. They had 4 tonight.

And we scored runs. Finally. Go Guards.

  6. So glad we showed up big time tonight with a “classic” 2024 Guards game, to show the Apple TV viewers who we really are! Last week’s game wasn’t it!

  7. David Fry simply decided to look awesome again. Certified lefty and knuckleball masher. I shudder to think what he would do against a lefty knuckleballer.

  8. A throwback game to that beautiful “disgusting baseball”. Blips and bloops in a single inning changed everything, and pitching kept the opposition out of reach.

  9. Kind of funny Waldron gets the loss and not the series of stapled-together chickens that pitched the 8th
