  1. Another thing is his leadership has been absolutely amazing, especially being 27 and bounced from Gleague to the NBA a bunch. Every timeout or break in action he is in the ear of another player or breaking down a play with multiple players, on top of that he has hyping up the young guys when they make a smart/great play.

He proved last year that when given minutes, he is not a liability on the floor. Currently, we only have Lowry as a true PG(Maxey is a SG with passing skills to me personally).

Dowtin on a MIN as the 3rd PG is a great option in my personal opinion, and I am hoping another team doesn’t snatch him up before we sign him.

  2. performing well in summer league when you’re 27yo is really not that much of an achievement

  3. He’s an odd player. He looks like a bull in a china shop half the time he’s on the court, and a robot the other half, but then you look at the box score and see he was surprisingly effective.

  4. League him? Hes been in the league for like 5 years…. He just sucks. Hes playing the nbas equivalent of children right now

  5. Someone described him as a AAAA player and that makes sense. He can be on an nba court without standing out, good or bad. Can keep his dribble alive, doesn’t really turn the ball over, shot looks OK enough and has some size. I think this is the last year he can be on a 2-way. Just put him on one of those and have him catch an Amtrak on back to backs when Lowry rests. Kind of an apples to oranges comparison but can be the Sixers version of Boston Scott. Won’t be a part of the regular rotation but is a set-and-forget 3rd/4th guy on the depth chart.

As for the last 2-way (assuming Edwards gets one) I’ve really warmed up to Aluma. Whether the shot is real and if he can guard on the perimeter remains to be seen but guy covers ground quickly, has good hands, good weakside rim protection and has a motor on the glass. Let him get burn in Delaware and bring him up against the wizards, nets, etc. and see if he can give KJ some competition for minutes until the trade deadline.

  6. So I bring up similar RC4 comment about him getting more run last week and ppl lose their gdamn mind but Downtin convos here is healthy smh

  7. For the record I’m not saying “league him” as the picture describes. Just recognizing a dude ballin out

  8. As of now, he’d be the third best ball handler on the team after Maxey and Lowry. Or did I miss a signing?

  9. I don’t see it. A guy that old that’s been a pro for this long should be dominating summer league. I just don’t see him as an nba player.   Seems more like a guy who plays in Europe or china.

I don’t mind him on the roster, but if guys like Ty jones and fultz are willing to play here on minimums I would rather have them on the roster. If Dowtin was 20 it would be different, but he probably is what he is.

  10. Hay, he’s 27. They need to fill the 2-way spots with potential. I’d rather they sign DSJ, who would be a very good backup guard. He’s able to play big minutes next to Oubre, Maxey and Lowry if any miss time.

  11. As a 15th man, he’d be a fine option. He held things down in his regular season minutes last year. He’s NBA old, but I think that’s a plus since he knows his out there to do a job and stick to a role if he doesn’t want to be waived again. You can’t bank on Lowry being available every night even as the backup.

  12. This man has $8M in career earnings over 9 contracts bouncing around the fringes of nba basketball. Cash that check Jeff
