  1. I do not get your take on the defense. Or I think you were not paying attention. GMMG said he tried to get another defenseman but they wanted too much money or too much term. Why overpay for a player when they are still going to be in the bottom of the standings?

    Also, I think GMMG is not done. They have first shot at all waivers until training camp begins or soon after and there might still be defensemen let go from cash strapped teams (example: Ceci with Edmonton).

    The Sharks do need an middle pair RD, but if GMMG cannot get another D, then it is what it is for this season. The Sharks are too far off from contending and overpaying for a UFA/RFA or giving up too much in trade does not make sense. It also does not fit their timeline.

    Lastly, the expected free agent class for next season is much better than what it available this offseason. Just saying.
