That’s a very fair deal for both sides in this cap environment and provides a bit of stability moving forward at the position.

Welp, Love could be my next jersey. Absolutely love the guy.
I can understand where people had issues with him at times last year. He’s not the fastest, and I’m not convinced of his straight-up man skills. But I do think a lot of his assignments last year were more difficult than they should’ve been to make up for Wagner’s deficiencies in coverage. Let’s see how he looks this time around. My outlook is positive.
Also, I think there’s a good chance we’re looking at our new green dot. I thought this prior to the deal too, but this only reinforces that idea. You want your green dot happy and on a multi-year deal for sure. Actually I wonder if that was talked about today with camp happening… haven’t been following along.
I see this as more of a bet for Julian to blossom in the new defense and projecting a jump. He’ll be one of the key pieces in the defense and probably the green dot

Outside of the eagles game, it is my thought that Love is overall being overrated by the media and fans. I think I saw a stat that said he let up some of the most 20+ yard plays in the league.
However, Leslie Frazier named him as someone that is a breakout candidate. Macdonald seems to have a good relationship with him and Love should fit better in his scheme seeing Love played under Wink. Love is also seen a great leader.
Overall, I feel neutral-positive on this deal, I’ll feel better if this leads to a Connor Williams signing. They both share agents.
I’m super ecstatic about this signing!!!! I can’t wait to see how Love and Witherspoon work in McDonald’s system. I’m also hoping Woolen plays a lot of man this year (I know McDonald heavily uses zone)
i’m starting to get a strong idea that john just never rests
I’m suspecting something more like 9-10 million per year with incentives.
Let’s go, I’m very excited about this signing. I know Love gave up a lot of yards early in the season, but imo, that had more to do with our scheme than him. I’m excited to see him in this defense, he can play anywhere in that secondary and do it pretty good.
A pro bowler last season and is only 26, I’m very excited to have Love moving forward into the future.

Hopefully he can get it figured out, and I also hope this contract is incentive heavy. A lot of people remember his Philly performance and not so much when he was getting beat a lot. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to extend him now in the case we figure out our LB room by next season though.
Doesn’t deserve the contract at all. Someday we will learn to not overpay safeties, especially when they have not earned the contract.
