  1. I don’t know if we’re really dead last, but we’re in that range. Talbot is our best option and he’s 37 and moving from a decent defensive team to a porous one. Lyon had stretches last year, but the lack of consistency showed why he had never staked a claim as anything more than a third goalie/AHL starter previously. Husso has battled injuries but has been bad since December of 2022. Then Jack Campbell has been famously up and down (more down than up) in the NHL in recent years.

    The important thing to look at though is that we have the best prospect pool of goalies with two top 10 goalie prospects who matter a whole hell of a lot more to any possible Cup window than the three guys we’ll have on the NHL roster.
