[Troy Haliburton] “I been sitting on a Tyus Jones update and wanted to blog about it, but looks like things might be progressing because teams are getting active today. Tyus will be looking to sign with one of his former teams Minnesota/Memphis, with the Suns and Hawks also showing interest.”

    >Whatever happens here will be very interesting for the rest of the league to use as a precautionary tale. Both the Wizards and Jones overplayed their hands and now no one is getting what they really wanted. Will break everything down in a blog that will post Monday.

    >I’d bet on it being Memphis if they can come up with the most money.

(He [also thinks](https://twitter.com/TroyHalibur/status/1816949238540251543) Tyus will get a new agent after things go through)

  2. So outside of Phoenix no starting role and even there they might do the point Beal again

  3. Tyus 100% fires his agent after this, he’s probably gonna sign a Gary Trent contract after a career year, which sucks for him. I wanna see him in PHX tho, probably the best pure PG they could possibly get, good spot for him, and PHX “big 3” might be more entertaining for me in the playoffs, if they get there.

  4. 🫡 Yessir. Thanks Bro, I did not want him back blocking Bub and Butler growth 👍

  5. Love Tyus. I understand his desire for a larger contract, and he’s definitely good enough at PG to deserve one, but in the modern NBA he just doesn’t have a bag deep enough to make up for his height. He’s basically taken out of the game offensively if his defender has more size and length, and unfortunately on defense you can pretty much forget him having any meaningful impact.

He is a trustworthy court general who has great vision and rarely turns the ball over, but I just don’t see him as a starter for a winning team, let alone in the playoffs.
